It's like whenever they unmask the villains, the villains always get nerfed and have different personalities. Zoom was a demon until he unmasked and Savitar was a God until he was unmasked.

The best part of this season was the psychological impact zoom had on Barry. He was so confident in his speed in the beginning but throughout the entire season he was absolutely devastated by their first fight and was absolutely TERRIFIED of zoom

ermac was here his story was much better written than Thawne’s. And don’t forget the badass suit, voice, lightning, and eyes which all make him look more like a monster than anything else, which they even acknowledged on the show.

The theory is that as a remnant he was loosing speed as he was ceasing to exist, like how Barry was loosing his memories the more he used his speed in flash point. Or it could just be the writing wanting her to fire that shot. There was a mini interview trailer thing, I can’t remember if it was before or after the episode, probably after since it kinda spoiled the scene. Iris actor said along the lines of inspiring or to inspire. About her usually being the damsel and the moment was that Barry was damsel, something like that.

Zoom humiliated him, killed his father, compared flashes mothers death to his, broke flashes back, tricked him even when he was suspicious at the beginning of season 2, stole his speed, killed more people, created a meta army to destroy earth-1, almost succeeded in destroying the multiverse quicker than the moniter, and didn’t even teach Barry something that could be used against himself as fake Jay like RF did. Reverse flash just gives Barry the pleasure of killing him over and over and losing to Barry over and over again.

Plotted every single minute detail in his life so he could get to the point of lightning, taught him almost all of his powers until Zoom happened, revealed himself to be a villain, Barry went back in time and realised he shouldn't stop Reverse Flash and saw his mom getting killed again.... Even after Zoom he was so tormented by Reverse Flash he went back and did one thing he never wanted to to do. Kill. Then again to reverse Flashpoint saw Reverse Flash kill Barry's mom again and no matter what.... He is always there as a rival to Barry. He is Flash's ultimate villain. His alter ego. Like Joker is to Batman. Zoom is objectively the best Villain in CW but Reverse Flash is the best enemy to Flash

He could of killed Iris, but he saw Barry move on and so chose to die, and let iris live. Iris living caused crisis, caused Nora’s death, death of all wells, loose touch with both his best friends, and be incompetent. So savitar got the last laugh

Exactly, everything about this season was great, it was a huge step up from season one. And Zoom was menacing and cool af.

This is bringing back memories when the flash actually had good CGI and a good story

The fight scenes in this season were actually really well done and they showed Zoom's strength and power as a Speedster really well. Same with Savitar's seeming invisibility to others due to his connection with the Speed Force.

If you look at all of the scenes in Zoom's eyes it is just white and it makes Zoom more and more intimidating and scarier, I just wish they kept him up for other seasons.

3:30-3:46 is even More epic! The way Zoom stands in the newspaper building flickering of lightning, and holding up a beat Barry with one hand?! That was Truly epic and sends chills down your spine, especially since Zoom looks resembles a black demon flickering with lightning when he says that! And his Deep Voice saying "This man, is no god; he is Nothing!"? And the music Score in that scene?

Zoom is an incredible season villain....when he's NOT an unmasked Hunter Zolomon. The moment they revealed that the badass look and voice was all a facade, they destroyed what made the character so badass. Damn Flash writers/producers...you had something so cool and messed it up. Still, it's awesome getting to see the scenes when he is full on "Zoom" as I can use my imagination LOL.

I think it makes him scarier to a degree because it's an example of the civilian identity being the "mask" and the mask being what the person is really like. All those scenes with "Jay" being all innocent and heroic, that was the real facade. The real place where they messed it up is after he got Flash's speed. Originally his whole thing was, he was "fattening up his prey before the kill" and his goal was always simply to get faster. Then suddenly he wanted to control Earth 1 Central City. Then suddenly he wanted to make Flash be more like him. Then suddenly he wanted to destroy the multiverse. Then there was the whole weird relationship with Caitlyn he had where she somehow convinces him not to kill everyone in Star Labs as soon as Barry loses his speed, even though that would have been very much in character for him to do. Zoom being able to literally punch open a breach (something he never did again, and something we never see any speedster do on the show ever again). The Flash losing his speed, but exiting the speedforce suddenly being as fast as Zoom even with Zoom now being as fast as his old speed PLUS Barry's tachyon enhanced speed. As soon as they were past the episode where Barry loses his speed, they just didn't really know what to do. They built up such a strong villain, they didn't know how to let Barry defeat him.

Fbiguy Funny enough, after I watched a couple of Zoom scenes I started getting a little bit onboard with the character more than before creating the idea in my head that Hunter IS the nightmarish Zoom character and that everything else while he’s unmasked is a disguise. So now reading your comment is like a nice little icing on the cake to push that idea even more. I now wish that they (the writers themselves) pushed that concept further if that is the case. For example, what was that “You can’t lock the darkness inside” moment when Hunter’s eyes are black speaking with the Zoom voice to Barry? They never dove into that scene whatsoever which bugged me because that was a prime opportunity to explain the character’s uniqueness separating him from Reverse Flash. Either way, as much as I’ve finally been “making” the unmasked Hunter character cool in my head recently, I think the writers should’ve put more effort in his development as a one of a kind evil speedster. P.S. You’re absolutely right about his motivation shifting. I wasn’t sure what his end goals were anymore which is terrible for your season villain.

Saleem Frazer I think the whole "you can't lock up the darkness" bit was in response to Barry saying that Zoom would never take anything from anyone again, implying they were going to lock Zoom up. But no matter if you put Zoom in prison, or a mental institution, you can't rehabilitate him. We see Zolomon being put through electroshock therapy on Earth-2 but not all the therapy in the world can lock up the darkness inside Zoom. They tried to go the whole route of Zoom trying to awaken that same darkness within Barry later, but it wasnt followed consistently.

I understood that part of the line, but I meant was surface-wise...the black eyes to be more specific. I always wondered why his eyes turned black. The voice is something we've seen speedsters do before, but the eye thing interested me. We've never seen anyone do it before, so I thought there'd be an interesting explanation for Zoom. Just something that caught my attention I guess, but it's probably not a big deal. Thawne's eyes turn red and I always chuck that up to his speedster energy surging through him like Barry's eyes having the yellow lightning effect in them when he charges up but Zoom's lightning being blue doesn't match up with the eyes so I guess that's why I thought there was something special about him. Again, at the time my mind was creating all sorts of things to make him more interesting after I felt the quality of the character started to die down.

I like how Zoom learned from other villains to take his time explaining things before killing his enemies.

It's so cool that blue lighting goes around zoom even when he is just standing like that shows that his power is so much that it's hard to even contain it, and it's always active.

I absolutely loved the lightning streaks when they were fighting in Star Labs, similar to the Reverse Flash in the first season. By comparison, however, Savitar was a bitter disappointment. He didn't leave a single streak, he just teleported from place to place

Kamnewt the reverse flash talks slow even when he is depowered and this is the only villain with constant lightning, and the lightning disappears when his mask if off any way

As much as I loved all of Reverse Flash's moments on the show, Zoom was the most intense and badass

I saw the need for Zoom. It solved unresolved conflict caused by Eobard Thawne who, by all means, won that season. Zoom was the villain that Barry needed to overcome in order to truly defeat Thawne, even if he didn't realize that that was why he was fighting.

I’m not sure if I’m the only one who thinks this but Zoom is so fast the electricity he can produce NEVER stops because in almost every way he’s ALWAYS moving

Zoom was so cool. Something I wish they’d done is what they did in ghost rider 2 where they made Zarathos sort of glitch around. I think it would have fit Zoom really well and make him seem like even more of a demon than he already was.

zoom is still one of the most badass villains til this day 💯

@@invisibleenenra9596 The comic book version is cool, but the Arrowverse version got castrated in order to make him a Green Arrow villain. There is no way in a million years that Green Arrow should be able to take on Deathstroke, let alone beat him.

Jesus Christ I forgot how much I loved Zoom S2 was my favorite season and Zoom was by far my favorite villain

Zoom might not he strongest,fastest,smartest or the coolest but he definitely the most intimidating imo

Zoom and Thawn and maybe even Saviatr will always be the Villains of CW Th Flash.

Zoom, although not the best of villains like Eobard, he still has the best looking costume and that blue lightning just makes it look even more epic. He is wrong though when he says "you are not a god" because "savitar" is Barry and he is the God of motion

@@NaNa-pv6cg We are not talking about powerful, we talk about being in control of time, because that is what "God of Motion" means, even Eobard is not fast enough to get him. No lunatics like Zoom, Godspeed and even Thawne can step on Savitar's toe, when it all comes down they just used some dumb excuse to take him out, give it a thought, even the flash could not see him, because he was him the whole time, you know the pizza face guy

Zoom is my fav villian purely because his mask is so unique it has this...well demon-y look and the lightning just going off his body is amazing, and that he actually knew what he was doing.... lookin at you rival....lookin at youuu.

His costume doesn’t have any color, his lightning was blue which shows how cold and evil he really is, the guy really is just cool in one word

Zoom, as well as Prometheus from Arrow are my favorite CW villains. Both of them were just evil incarnate. The seasons of both shows were the best when they were the main antagonists IMO

Being a speedster means that when your fighting your fellow speedsters you get to play a game of tag
