    You can even boil some Lipton tea bag in the water....It will make it even darker and make it tastier. You can use oolong tea or black tea....Even Earl grey tea bag....

    Very gud but let's not forget our mothers does not add the leaves because of color but because the leaves are medicinal

  • @bezalea

    @bezalea

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes but I don’t think our mothers necessarily made Waakye at home (they always bought it from the roadside). homemade Waakye has become popular only in recent years and many people are trying their hands on it. And as my video says, it’s an alternative to the original. Many people don’t have access to the leaves, some also get all sort of reaction when they use the kanwe, so this recipe is for those with either of those issues. Thanks for watching 🙏🏾

    Dear Ene, so I added gari, tomatoes sauce with beef in it(I have the recipe on my channel), some black chilli sauce and eggs. Please do try it and you will love it. Thanks a lot for watching 🙏🏾

    @@bezalea I actually did it today, couldn't wait 🤣🤣🤣 I used more rice than beans and unfortunately cooked the beans in pressure cooker so it became too soft right from the onset. Also the colour of the beans didn't come out properly(might be the type?.......Will try next time,cooking the beans on stove so I can monitor it. Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

    I dnt know why people d see till use de Kawu on the beans because this time around our beans are no beans n within few minutes is soo cooked unlike our school days that u will put beans on fire at 2am n be ready at 7am.

    THIS IS NOT ZONGO WAAKYE. IT'S JUST HOME WAAKYE.

  • @bezalea

    @bezalea

    2 жыл бұрын

    Grace please as for me, where I come from, which is Mamobi, Zongo Waakye is cooked at home before it is sent to the road side. So the fact that mine didn’t go to the road side or I didn’t sell it does not preclude it from being Zongo Waakye. Where is your Zongo Waakye made, if I may ask? Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
