Thanks John. Cheers!
The blades with this finish look like they have embers inside them, i love it!
I did this tonight. Mine actually turned out very similar. I kinda went stupid with materials. I wish I had seen your tutorial beforehand lol. I saw it in a bladesmith group and just winged it. The reaction looked cool though🤣. We would've been hanged 100 years ago. I'm sure you already know that Camellia oil is magic on this 🍻
I am picturing y'all doing this to my Reaver Cleaver. Thank You!!! You Rock!!!!
id like a brown leather wrapping to go with my copper etched sharkalobe :)

Forbidden BBQ sauce
Would it work with other dusts as well, such as brass? Would it work with dusts that aren't metal? I'm curious about why this works.
Cool look. Any idea how long it will hold up under use?

We've cut hundreds of cans, fruit, wood and other various materials will all of our shop copies. The Etch hold up quite well. If you look at our Pirate Pool video you can see the etch on several swords that have been heavily used. All of our shop copies have the aluminum etch though...which holds up all the same. Cheers!
Gonna need the sauce on that music.
Nice, that's the finish I got on my D'Capitan. Was wondering how you did it.

Nice!!! Here's a description of 5160 spring steel: Alloy Steel 5160, also sold as AISI 5160, is a high carbon and chromium spring steel. It offers users outstanding toughness, a high level of ductility, and excellent fatigue resistance. Alloy Steel 5160 is in use in the automotive field in a number of different heavy spring applications, especially for leaf springs.

I put a brown wrap on the hilt with a copper blade finish. It came out beautifully. I only wish the copper areas were more pronounced.
