The only maintenance I do regularly is the line roller, and cleaning the spool lip and the rod guides with a Q-tip with some silicone cleaner. I don't open reels just to 'maintain' them if there is no noise and they feel good. Thats me fishing from a boat though... my reels never see any dirt at all... My favorite panfish bait is a southern pro bream bug. Its a 1.5" grub body with 4 legs. With 1/64 oz jig it has such a pretty action in the water and the legs make its fall rate very slow. When you jig it the legs make it look like a bug struggling to swim. I suggest the black/yellow which is similar to trout magnet bison. If i could only have on bait for the rest of my life this would be it.

looks amazing for bluegill beds. You would need a very small hook for that...
@jeanks2271
Жыл бұрын
The 1/64th #8 trout magnet hook works well enough on them. The head is just a little too heavy above the hook eye for me so I grind the head down some. I like the weight closer to the plastic. If you find the right balance the bait just falls straight down staying perfectly horizontal. I have some mulefishing jigheads coming which look promising. I thought I would be catching Bluegill and Crappie only since the bait is so small. Ive caught a 4lb catfish, a 10lb alligator gar, as well as my PB Largemouth at 8lbs. All on my 6ft ultralite Stcroix Avid. I use a kayak so I just let the fish pull me around. Too afraid to try lifting them on 2lb flouro.

Stella was a little to heavy and i took the spool and handle fron Shimano Cardiff CI4+ 1000 with the body of Complex XR (157grams),because the color scheme wit champagne gold i guess, from spool, and multicolor flakes on reel match perfectly, and it is a very,very nice combo,very pleased.I was not a fan of cork reel handle,but in this case i find it very pleasant to touch.All the best!

The TicklerZ (yes, the TINY) was on a 2.5 gram, and the LarvaZ was on a 1.5 gram, but both on DAIWA Tungsten jig heads.
