as someone of iranian origin, i was so excited to find out that this song was used in animal. this song talks about a lover asking her partner not to leave her, and where has he gone. zangi is the old persian word for a black person, which ultimately gave the name to the island of zanzibar. also the word for rusting in persian is zang zadan. it even contains some south persian stuff which its hard for me to translate here but i will try my best ai sia he zangi, delam o nakon khoon oh you black person, don't make my heart in blood. vay to rafti koja, manam cho majnoon. oh where have you gone, i am like majnoon. jamal jamalak jamaloo jamal ghado. jamal jamalak jamaloo jamal ghado del to mahbak e sineh, aroom nemishineh. the heart inside the chest, its not calming down. ok, here is some south persian stuff which i can't translate here but lets try: helelyosa helelyosa, az rah'm nemikhosa. helelyosa helelyosa, it's not getting from my way? ( i guess that would do ) marmar e sineh belarzoon, belarzoon, belarzoon. shake, shake, shake your mable like chest ghere to kamar tar becharkhoon, becharkhoon, becharkhoon. spin, spin, spin, your waste in a dance like style. jamal jamalak jamaloo jamal ghado. and so on. i hope i have helped our indian friends here on the internet. sadly, i have not watched animal, but i have heard so much about it. and now to discover that this old iranian song was used makes me even more excited. the guy in the video, zia atabi was also behind the song hele mali, which later r d burman ripped off to make the hit song jahan teri yeh nazar hai from the film kaalia. today i have just discovered that the comments on the khatereh girls chorus video of the same song has been deactivated, so i couldn't reply to that person, so i will help anybody here instead. how did sandeep ready wanga find this gem of a song is the million dollar question for me. looks like his music taste is eclectic. thanks for the video. hello from an iranian woman from Sweden.

This is wrong. Zia Abatay is not the original composer or singer of this song. The original was sang by a choice of Iranian school girls in the late 1950s. Since then, a lot of singer have sang this song. The one in the film "Animal" is actually more of the original song. The one used in the film can be found on youtube itself here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dmR9ucyMn8iefLw.html. As the audio quality indicates, it's quite old.

I know right! You know because of Afghans we got ghazals and majorly Urdu language? Their land of balkh has produced so many literary geniuses like Rumi, hafez etc..man! Mother language of dari/ Farsi is pehlavi which was derived from Sanskrit. We have so many similarities. In Afghanistan there are still people who practice zoroastrianism..they have a fire temple there even now i think in balkh..one of their oldest queens is known to have ordered to write and spread Vedas...so yes i think that's why maybe they feel so similar to us.. @@rajkumar-to3cp i didn't get your question completely, pardon if i am not making sense. look, when movie has so many pivotal characters and scenes and that too in a character driven films, curiosity of backstory and dynamics are inevitable. its human tendency where 'we want immediate answers for our curiosity". giving a backstory and personal arc of every characters happens in books not in movies. Open threads are ok from unless if it is too absurd. And the reason why I said the Rann vijay and his son's dynamics might be explored in future because of one of the dialogue of opening scene by old rann vijay. I am Ok with Balbir singh dying in the very beginning of Animal park. his character has been already concluded with agle janam dialogue. he accepted himself as a failed father. another point FYI, the makers did recruit a young actor to play abrar's childhood role. its there in the movie cast list. i am sure sandeep kept those scene for 2nd edition.
