After seeing your Instagram story with the new Weebill S on it, I decide to wait for your review. And I just bought the new weebill today without any hesitation. Thanks for your down to earth review and answering all the major questions very clearly in your review. Especially the size and portability comparison. I am a crop sensor Mirrorless camera user (GH5 And XT3) and portability is my top priority without compromising the stability. My first impression with this gimbal it is really, really portable. For Weebill S, do you know how can i remove the 1/4" screw below? I want to mount it onto a 3/8" long monopod for better secure connection.

When using the 8-18mm on the GH5 with this gimbal, do you still get the "whobble" caused by the IBIS? In other words, should I turn IBIS off when using this combo?

Weebill S is definitely the best one.

is it possible to shoot the photo with Weebill S + Sony (per example A7R2) camera? I cannot see the photo mode on the menu. Would it be possible with transmitter module and ZY Play app?

I sold my $600 weebill lab for $200 bucks to get this weebill S. I bought it a week or two ago, but I’ve been out of town a lot, so I haven’t been able to use it yet. But knowing that it’s so much sturdier that the Lab makes me excited to use it and film again. I use the a7iii with the Tamron 28-75 mostly and in the weebill lab it wasn’t good at all. Very twitchy, so excited to see what how the S performs. Great review!

7:54, I think that the 24mm GM does not have OSS, the caption probably referes to IBIS instead as you have stated? The footage is still incredibly smooth though, how do you walk so smoothly? :) I will probably get the 16-35 F4 as it has OSS for additional stabilization and I mostly need it for video and the range. Have you had a change to test an OSS Sony lens on some of the gimbals? Thank you.

You're welcome! If I was making high production value travel video, I would take this gimbal. IBIS can't replace gimbal because it it different kind of stabilization. With gimbal you can make smoother camera movements, it keeps the horizon leveled and so on.

I have Sony 7C, is it possible to make at least REC button to work on this gimbal? I tried everything., changed it to Panasonic in settings like some ppl recommend , updated firmware, thinking to return it as this thing is useless with my camera it seems.

Nice video as always, could you just confirm that you can still control the record on Sony A7 cameras W/O setiing up the PC remote mode that takes ages to connect? I think I will be giving a try as my second gimbal for traveling

It has to be set to PC remote on every gimbal. I recommend just not using remote control with Sony cameras.

Thank you, I usually shoot with PP8 + Gamma changed to Cine4, or PP Off which also works well.

Thank you for the great video. Do you think the Weebil S will be smooth enough for Sony A71( no IBIS ) plus Rokinon 20 mm cine( no IS )? The Rokinon is manual focus - will it work well with Zhiyun manual focus controller?

Yes, it will be good enough, you can use a bit of warp stabilizer in editing for smaller movements. I have never tested Zhiyun focus motor.

Thank you! My advice is to forget about those features on any gimbal. Using buttons on the camera is more convenient. Tracking is more of party-trick rather than a useful feature.

So you can't use in body stabilization with the included cord with a Sony camera? Does this also mean that you can't use the focus wheel with Sony cameras?

Focusing is not related to that. The focus wheel only works with additional follow focus motor. You are better off using AF if you have newer Sony camera.

I have no idea to be honest, but I generally recommend using AF if you have Sony camera with hybrid autofocus system.

Very nice review. So many have wiz banged the gimbal reviews I dislike watching them. I liked yours because it is calm, you aren't screaming at me so to speak. Thank you. I have my eye on this gimbal, but the software could be better on the app.

I watched your video on the Panasonic G 95, very informative. I have never used a gimbal, but would like to buy the Zhiyun Weebill S, and use it with the Panasonic G 95. You're welcome, there is no problem. It will work great, especially with Dual IS 2.

The main advantage is the battery life. I would use it without a grip on a gimbal, but it is a matter of preference.

What's the heaviest camera set up you feel comfortable using on this gimbal?

The heaviest setup that I have tested is A7III + Tamron 28-75, something like A7III + 24-70 / 16-35mm F2.8 will be fine, beyond that I don't know.

Is it possible this would work with the battery grip used on the a7riii or a9 with the same grip. Thanks and Merry Christmas

Yes, it is the best choice, although M50 has no IBIS, so the the results won't be as good as with Sony. LAB is not enough for camera without IBIS.

I don't know, I would definitely take off the battery grip from X-T3 if you want to use it on a gimbal with heavy lens. It would definitely work without the grip.

My gimbal arrived today! Random question, does your gimbal also makes a squeaky noise when the pan axis is locked? Once I unlocked the pan axis the squeaky noise is gone.

It will, but it is not a good idea. I recommend mounting the mic to the gimbal.

Just the auto-tune, other settings depend on specifics shot.

Unfortunately, my only tip is to forget about the remote control on any gimbal, if you use Sony. It is not reliable and it disables OSS in camera, so it is not worth using IMO.

can you put a 5inch monitor on top of the Sony A73?.... and at 4:17 of that building, it seems to be slightly jittery, would this be the gimbal or using slow motion or some other effect causing it?

Unless you are using something like 1Dx Mark II or S1H, you can get the same results in most situations. Moza Air 2 helps you a bit more while walking because it is heavier.

That will be fine on Weebill S, especially with GH5 IBIS. Air 2 may be a bit more suitable for extreme use cases, but Weebill S is suffcient for that.

I just got this, should I balance this at 50 mm for the Tameron 28-75 and a A7III?

You should always balance with the lens extended as you will use it.

Thanks for the great review! So does it mean the Record button on the gimbal doesn’t work on a Sony camera? Also I found that my ZY Play app isn’t doing anything after connected to my gimbal - it’s connected but not communicating whatsoever 😅 not sure if I’m doing this right!

You're welcome! Record button works when you connect the camera with cable, but it disables image stabilization in camera / lens. ZY play app is not always reliable, there can be various issues.

Hi, I have one question, I am currently using Sony A7R IV and Tamron 28-75mm f2.8, and when I connect to the gimbal, it shows that I am connected, but I just could not see any settings I can adjust. Is it because of the lens? I also tried with different camera manufacturer setting in the gimbal, but only sony works, it just didn't show settings can be adjusted on the screen of the gimbal, please let me know if you know how to solve this problem, thank you

You can try turning on the gimbal first or the camera first, it is also possible that A7R IV is not supposed yet. My general advice is to forget about remote control (with any gimbal), especially with Sony as I have explained in the video.

Webbill is better gimbal overall, I miss parameter settings a lot on AK2000, so for me it would be worth replacing it, but it depends on how you use it.

Toto už nie je problém pri žiadnom modernom gimbale. Motory sú úplne tiché.
