Xue Yang basically had no one... He had to rely on himself to get what he wanted, to survive but then when XingChen came in and took care of his wounds... He felt cared for, for the first time.. Xue Yang and XingChen's story was very very sad ... very tragic

Eh. Mass murderer either way. No one should get excused for that. You can also say he changed, but in the end he still fought against Wei Wuxian and the other cultivators. He only left sympathy, but no redemption. Yes, his life was a horribly sad and depressing life no one should go through, but his actions were not excusable in any way.

I think in the novel, xue yang is younger than everyone else, so it just makes it more tragic. He lived with xxc and little blind in peace for over rain before song lan came, he actually closer to the end of xingchens life, had stopped killing as many people. He was almost a changed person and then everything fell apart for him

You’re correct. During Yi City Xue Yang isn’t much older than the Junior trio, only 19 at the time. He was only 15 when he massacred the Chang Sect and only 17 when he massacred everyone at Baixue Temple, Song Lan’s home. If you realize Wei Wuxian is 34 and Lan Wangji 35 at this time it makes him seem even younger

Yea, some villains in the novel is actually sweet, gentle, kind hearted. But due to the law of the jungle. They became twisted after suffering some mind blowing misfortune. XingChen was the first and the only one who is kind to him. As for Zhou Shen he is extremely talented in giving out emotional. In every covers and OST that he did, his voice always made the audience want to see the movie again or play the game.

The fact that he actually believed XXC would wake up really hit me hard. The one and only person who would give him candies everyday and was the one who really cared for him, was the person whom he cannot even save. I honestly could not hate him even if how many people hate him and I cried so much when he died. 👁️💦👄💦👁️

Xue Yang's character is the author showing us what Wei Ying could've become. In TU, they both have similar costumes, hairstyles, and charming smiles. Both characters were orphans expect one was fortunate enough to be adopted by a loving family. I can't help but feel sympathy for Xue Yang. He just wanted to be loved but never got his wish. 😥😥

我不太赞同你的观点，晓星尘才是真正和魏无羡作为对照的人，他们都为了自己心中的正义所努力过，却事与愿违，他们的灵魂是相同的。而薛洋只能说经历相似。打个比方，魏无羡小时候被狗咬以至于他长大之后怕狗。但如果是薛洋小时候被狗咬了，他有一定能力后，他极大可能会虐狗。

@@user-cg9fg4zr3t I have to agree with you. Fundamental difference between WWX and XY is that WWX doesn't hold grudges like XY does. XY will go out of his way to make someone and their entire extended family pay even for the slightest thing, while WWX - unless you hurt someone he loves, will most likely turn the other cheek. Great example being how WWX didn't hate ALL the people in Wen clan while XY executed EVERYONE for one persons assholeness. If i remember correctly in the Novel while living with XXC, XY did eventually kill less, but I doubt he could ever fully get over the impulse... Even when XXC showed XY kindness and love XY couldn't break his hatered towards humanity. Now I do think if he had had someone as a positive rolemodel XY would probably have turned out to be... Less of a murder hobo, lol. Dare I say maybe more in the line of Meng Yao, before becoming JGY. But even that I'm not 100% sure about. I think XY instead is a reflection of what WWX could have become if he had continued to be under the influence of the tiger amulate... Only that XY didn't need the amulate so become what he did... It only allowed him to act out his plans more efficently. I still love Xue Yao. He is compelling character and I cry every time I read or watch Yi city arc. I love villains like him so much.

Every actor of Untamed is fit for the role they played and I cannot imagine watching someone else play the role. Xue Yang who was a vilian for everyone in the novel whoever read it became a character which made everyone cry the most.

The beauty of the untamed is not every thing is not just about black and white but some time gray .and i believe no one can hate even a villain of this story. everyone has heart ripping back story to there life like no one is happy but they try to make one . I literally love this story and its a irreplaceable place in my heart .

I adore this song, a perfect theme song for Xue Yang. I cry too much listening to this song, particularly the line about holding the piece of candy. On the other hand, "No one knows" is such a weird English title... Like the actual song's title is Liberation at Deserted City, with the word "liberation" refers to the idea of being able to reincarnate/ to die with peace and to reborn, a theme that is mentioned repeatedly in the novel.

Every villain has a story😭 from the very start I really cannot hate XueYang I just love him being a villain to the point I cry how he desperately make Xiao Xingchen alive again and the memories he cherish with Xiao Xingchen (the flashback) 😭

Almost anyone in the cast auditioned for Xue Yang, got another role, but he got it on the first try and if I'm not wrong it wasn't his first choice 🤣

It’s been a while since I watched the drama for the first time, but I still cry when I see Xue Yang holding that last candy, his precious gift from the first person who was really kind to him, with his dying breath. Even if he was lying to others and to himself, telling he didn’t really care about Xiao Xingchen, he spent the rest of his days tending his soul, trying to bring him back, to have that life again. Gosh, I love how he can be a foil to Lan Wangji in that matter.

among all the villians i've come across, Xue Yang's story broke my heart the most. Just when he was starting to change, all his past actions came to demand a payment and he was killed for what he had done without a chance to repent. This song is the perfect song for Xue Yang and Zhou Shen perfectly captures the strong and tragic emotions that are displayed in it

It feels as if his personality was developed because of the way he was treated younger because it was engraved in his mind that being nice and sweet will only get him hurt but to face the world and survive he has to become an evil version of himself ,hide his pain , kill the ones who did him wrong , and even hurt others in unexpected ways . But at the end you could see that the little boy inside of him who never had someone to care about him finally found someone who cared for him , he was lost and perplexed at the idea and honestly it's pretty obvious that he didn't acknowledge his feelings nor knew how to react to the new experience he was going through and for the very first time he had a ray of hope that was taken away from him as soon as the truth was revealed leaving him completely shattered ,so in his death scene you could see that there was some kind of peace brought to him by being dead rather than being tormented by guilt .

when i heard this ost for the first time, i had no idea it was zhou shen who sang it! i love his voice so much and it's so unique, adding to the fact that it sounds perfect for this heartbreaking character and all that he went through together with xiao xingchen. it really hits close to home, especially with the added dialogue. in my personal opinion, this is probably one of the best character osts to me, not just in the untamed, but also including other shows, since it surpasses its time.

I can't get over them. The untamed really the best drama of all time. Perfect casting and the characters fits them all. I'm so sad for xue yang for he never know to love and be loved,. Until xiao xingchen came into his life. How tragic it was. My heart really weep for him.

the thing with Xue Yang nd Xingchen is so complex that it would give a separate story. there’s more to Xue yang than just a psycho and murderer. of course, there’s no justification for killing so many innocent people, manipulating and using xingchen. but, maybe if there was someone in his life to help him besides him, maybe he wouldn't give in to your dark side. his dark side was so big that he saw xingchen as a toy. it was necessary for Xingchen to take his own life for Xue Yang to realize that he had good feelings for him, I am not necessarily talking about love. Anyway, this is a tragic story.

i was into xue yang the moment i saw him. after knowing his past and him losing someone he loved, made my affection grow for him even more. its soo sadd seeing him have no one by his side to help him.

In the novel it says that he stopped killing ppl after a few years living with XXC. No one understood him in the story. What breaks my heart the most is WWX should have been the one who understood XY for he also spent his childhood on the road fighting dogs to get food . He saw through empathy that XY had changed and SL was the one who attacked XY first. Although he knew he killed XY(SL did ik but still...). What is more unfair is that it was a 3:1 fight,an young boy against 3 most powerful and well known cultivators. They all did XY dirty. Xue Yang deserved better, he deserved to be loved,he deserved to be taken care of,he deserved to be understood and he deserved to get a second chance. That's it. I said it and I'll take no criticism about this.
