    There are many sites that talk about the spelling. This explanation was well said. Found here: greekmythology.wikia.com/wiki/Kronos "Kronos (Ancient Greek: Κρόνoς, Kronos), also spelled Cronus, was the king of the Titans, and father of the first generation of the Olympian gods; Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus."

    Uranus, Cronus' dad, imprisoned his children in Tartarus. Tantalus killed his son Pelops, he cut him up, boiled him, and served him up in a banquet for the gods. The gods became aware of the gruesome nature of the menu, so they did not touch the offering; only Demeter, distraught by the loss of her daughter, Persephone, absentmindedly ate part of the boy's shoulder.

    Poseidon actually created so many land animals in his task to win Demeters affections, that when he succeeded with the horse, he had lost interest in her. Which was Demeter intention when she gave him this challenge. The actual challenge was to "create the most beautiful animal in the world".

I am a demigod named Kratos trying to find his father Zeus and you know take him out like Zeus did to his dad and Zeus's dad did to his dad who also took out his own father. You are presented with so many figures from the Greek myths that this video helps me appreciate the game so much more knowing the lore behind the myths that inspired the game setting and story. I can not wait to look through more your videos. Whoever made this great job.

    Actually, he was Zagreus before he was Dionysus and he was the child of Zeus and Persephone. Zeus took Zagreus with him to Olympus but Hera in her rage brought the Titans to eat the child. Long story short, Zagreus was ripped to pieces and Zeus took one of those pieces and (this is were stories differ) either impregnated Semele or stitched the piece to his thigh or took the piece and implanted it in Semele

  • @honeypots8787

    @honeypots8787

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@zoeapostolidou3964, well I believe both versions are correct. Zagreus is Dionysus. But the modern story of the one named Dionysus goes that Zeus met a mortal woman, Semele, and Hera found out and showed up to her as an old lady. Which Semele immediately confined in the fact that she was caring the child of Zeus. Hera planted the seed of doubt in her mind and convinced her that the next time she sees Zeus she order him to show her his true, godly form. She does exactly that and surprise surprise, Zeus complies- and immediately obliderates her. But in her ashes was left a premature Dionysus, which Zeus sews into his 'leg' until he is born a second time. This theme of rebirth also shows up in the Zagreus version. And another comparison, in the story of Zagreus he is the son of Persephone. And in some versions of Dionysus' story he is raised by Persephone once being sent always by Zeus to be safe from Hera. Long story short, Zagreus is a more ancient Dionysus.

    Hi, I would like to mention something on Athenas birth actually. When Zeus planned to make Cronus vomit up his siblings, there was a nymph(I’m sorry if she’s not a nymph, I haven’t looked back on Greek Mythology again) that helped Zeus in the plan. Later when the war was over Zeus and the Nymph got married, then Zeus heard from his mother Gaia that one of his children would overthrow him and obtain his throne. And the nymph was pregnant at the time and, um, Zeus like fused with her I guess? I don’t know how to say it but yeah. Then he had a terrible headache, so bad that Zeus wanted to split his head open to relieve the pain. The Athena jumped from out of his head fully grown and dressed, as told about Athena she has great wisdom that I think she got from her mother(the nymph) and also Zeus attained that wisdom too. I heard this version from Overly Sarcastic Productions, it’s a KZread channel that talks about different mythologies and histories and other cool ancient stuff like that.

    Why is so hard for everyone to understand that different versions exist? Yes, the one you mentioned is the Hesiodic version. Another one, attributed to Hesiod as well, involves Zeus sleeping with Metis in revenge for Hera's parthenogenetic birth of Hephaistos, and later cannibalising her in fear that she might create something stronger than the thunderbolt. According to Pseudo-Apollodoros, Zeus raped Metis some time after he married Hera. In the Library of History Athene's mother is Themis, while most ancient authors make her motherless.
