Thanks, the vise grips sitting on the ground was a good tip. When my pulley went bad at 450 hrs. the nut was missing. So I defiantly will be using loctite. And I didn't think to check the other pulley's to see if they were going bad, when I called in the order. Or did I think to look online for a cheaper replacement pulley or order a spare.

It would be a good idea to keep all the grass and leaves blown out from under the deck cover.

Yup, it was a leafy chit-show!!!! Now I blow the deck clear after each use.

I have this exact same mower! I’m in the middle of a full restoration on mine.

Wow! I thought my ztr deck was dirty! All that debris will cause over heating of parts and belt slippage as well as belts coming off pulleys. Also, you couldn't clean it for the video so we can see what the parts look like?

Wait'll you have to clean the ground at the motor. Loads of fun! Hint.....PULL THE STARTER BEFORE YOU DO. Oh! The voage underneathto hold that part is a joy too!

Good video. Man that mower will last you several more years with less than 400 hours. By the way use grade 8 bolts for even more strength.

Keep deck blown out after use will save pulley life

My 2014 Turf Tracer just had the same thing happen today. I keep all of my mowers blown clean after each cut and it still failed. 339.0 hrs

Do you happen to have the part # to cross reference? I have a mower I got 2nd hand and need to change the tension idler pulley. Same thing happened with mine.

I agree. As I recall this was a last minute thing. 30 seconds with the leaf blower would have made the working conditions a lot nicer!!!!

If you are going to make a video, at least vacuum the dead grass from your work area.
