Could someone please explain to me what the origin of their name is? As someone who was born in the Soviet Union, I am particularly curious.

Danny Kay they are saying that the word "soviet" just popped out while they were having fun at the rehearsal room. Eventually they found it sounded good if doubled and decided to adopt it as their band name. They also say it has nothing to do with politics
