I can't see any technology to help the construction worker avoid injury at work as dumb . Weird maybe but not dumb. I'm sure lots of actual contractors are thanking that someone actually finally came up with an answer to many laborers problem.

This type of concept has been used for cameras for many years. As much as they look goofy, the end result is that you get a LOT more done without constant pain and lifelong injuries that shorten your cateer by decades. Lots of comments about how someone would lose dignity using this....most of them are likely young. Don't injure yourself slowly while making fun of those destined for a longer career and life than you.

That's not the issue. Holding the weight with your arms 4 or 5 hours a day for years leads to repetitive motion injuries. If you off-load the weight onto your spine, it is much more ergonomic, and reduces worker fatigue. Clearly, you've never done the job. I have, and these devices are lifesavers for your forearms and wrists.

@KuntaKinteToby - it still doesn’t negate the fact of the pressure you have to exert on the tool. The company I worked for had a giant contraption like this for a 6 inch angle grinder. It’s literally useless because of the pressure and necessary downforce you have to use to get the fucking tool to work properly. That’s what kills your joints.

I worked in Hollywood for almost 20 years and would occasionally work with a Cameraman who fabricated his own rig similar to this to suspend his video camera so it wouldn't rest on his shoulders. When I first worked as his Camera Utility I asked him if he received alot of funny comments and looks. He replied: "Yes I do but I am protecting my back and shoulders from damage." Smart man.

This is a very dangerous thing. It can even lead to disability. If you stumble, then the entire load comes to the lower spine, because... almost the entire spine is fixed with a metal beam. I know several cameramen who suffered very serious back injuries this way. Therefore, during filming, there is always an assistant next to the cameraman who looks at where the cameraman is stepping (especially when moving backwards). This is impossible on a construction site, so it is a very dangerous device.

I wear earplugs protective glasses and knee pads at the very minimum luckily I'm not in an area where I need to wear hard hat or construction boots. Anyone Who has ever done any serious labor would consider this. Especially if you run your own company by yourself like I do. I know hilti is on the next level of tools these Are the type of people that don't even know the brands hilti, festool or metabo( Not hikoki) I've been doing labor since I was 7 years old pick ax and shovel on dry compact soil infested with rocks and clay. I had grown man hands by the age of 9. It's OK to be tough but you need to be smart as well. I much rather save my body as much as possible so that I can rough house and play with my son or grandchildren when I have some. Play with the wife:) rather than have to say no because my back is tweaked. I protected myself as much as possible but even I have a few tweaks already showing.I dont think about them and they don't seem to bother me on a daily basis but I'm already touched. It doesn't matter who you are or if you think you're tough if you've been doing it bare handed or asked some of you guys might say. Tough.you and I both know you already got issues.either. You're back knees elbow joints. Probably Kennedy's sleep on one side.loss of hearing. The old way of thinking is gone that old school mentality is just dumb nowadays. I am more of a car mechanic and less of a plumber. I just replaced my water heater. The job ws not complicated. I did discover that working with plumbing wrenches is very different than working with car ranchesn The torque applied to opening or closing the fitting is really where the muscle strength matters. When working with plumbing wrenches just holding them up extended worth your arms out is difficult. they can be 5 10 15 pounds I don't know but there. Heavy compared to a box and wrench. Then you have to have a second wrench holding back with your other hand so you don't twist stuff out of place. Sonia have 2 wrenches holding them in an awkward position trying not to lose you're grip on the pipe or whatever. It's very difficult it's not technically complicated but it is very awkward and difficult. The wrenches are heavy and it matters not something everyone thinks about.

Zero gravity is obviously marketing hype, but I'd assume it works like a long distance hiking backpack, the type used for over night hikes. They have a belt that transfers the weight to your hips. If you've ever worn a standard backpack then wore one of those with a weight transfer belt it does feel like there's zero gravity on your pack.

  • @andrewut7ya511

@@artvandelay1099 what you said is true but they were not saying the pack is zero gravity but rather the tool that you no longer need to hold is relieved of gravity entirely so it kinda is zero gravity for the tool because it is suspended.
