The Sublime and All Seeing Eye beautiful box of Zen! These rare vintage Zener diodes have been sourced for their audio loveliness and analog 3d Spatiality. At lower input settings they make Everything sound richer, more cohesive and beautiful. Audio just sounds nicer and much more finished. As we push into them (we use Logic x’s i/o utility) things start to get Most interesting - bass starts to growl in a most pleasing way - and the audio starts to pulsate dynamically. Push harder and we enter sound design territory (…or is this actually how we want things to sound!….) - it’s like running your music through mdma - the whole trippy staggered vision thing becomes real! Things just seem a bit boring in bypass.
You can of course have the best of both worlds by using them in parallel - send them into overdrive then add just a smidge back into the mix. Automate your i/o to add even more dynamics to your songs trajectory. A sonic wonder!
