Zen Master Dogen 道元 - Selected Pointers for Meditation - Zen Buddhism

Dōgen Zenji (1200 - 1253) was a Japanese Buddhist priest, writer, poet, philosopher, and founder of the Sōtō school of Zen in Japan.
Originally ordained as a monk in the Tendai School in Kyoto, he was ultimately dissatisfied with its teaching and traveled to China to seek out what he believed to be a more authentic Buddhism. Upon his return to Japan, he began promoting the practice of zazen (sitting meditation) through literary works. He eventually left Kyoto for the mountainous countryside where he founded the monastery Eihei-ji, which remains the head temple of the Sōtō school today.

Hello Samaneri, I like the sound of your name, its sounds like a seminary. Thank you for all the audio you have offered, an amazing effort on your part. Your voice; tone, rhythm, elocution and cadence come together beautifully. As well as the choice of background music. I found the image for this recording, Zen Circle by John Rossi, reminded me of the work of Hilma of Klint, quite something here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilma_af_Klint A small collection of her images at the bottom of the page.

Thank you for this. You've inspired me to perhaps record sections (or all) of my own books and the Tanahashi translation. I found that the other one I have listened to is 'Actualising the Fundamental Point' which you translate (with Myers) as Truth Unfolding. What is this one? I have Kazuaki Tanahashi's translation and I would like to read as well as listen to this. In any event, thank you so much for what you do. Namaha. Deep bows.

Hello again :) To be more precise, I'm searching for the book/chapter/essay this quote is taken from: "it is like a hammer striking emptiness. before and after its exquisite peal permeates everywhere". I found that quote in French years ago. It's a very important image to me. In your compilation I finally discovered how it sounds in English. Thank you for your help 🙏
