Great details. I (purple belt) personally have the biggest problem with 19:52 sec. I think it's the weakest moment in terms of the pressure, and this pass. Right after I pass the legs and land in this position (his hips turned away, and my right knee under his butt) if they're stronger than me, they always push me away (my head, and arm) and manage to shrimp out the hips. I always feel that in this position (being almost parallel right after passing the legs) I rely mostly on my hands.. That's when they explode, and push away, and I always have to reset the pass.. Wish there was more content regarding the moment after passing the legs scenario.

White belt here. Everytime I try this, I get triangled. To prevent that from happening, do I need to get better at using my head + shoulder to push my training partner's top leg (i.e., uke's left leg in the video) away from his body? Or what?

when you do this pass, move your front leg knee togheter with your whole body. This makes it for a heavier feeling pass and protects you from getting triangled. If you're constantly getting triangeled in this pass, it may be because you're diving head first.

Purple belt here. My advice would be to focus on controlling your opponent's bottom leg first. Only then should you continue. Your opponent needs both legs to triangle you. Also be mindful of your base/balance and keeping your elbows tight. Good luck.

he keeps his elbow close to his body and good pressure across him keeping his upper body from turning towards kimura :)

As David said you keep the pressure on that leg and your shoulder down to keep their hips flat and hide your arm under their leg so they can't kimura you easily. In addition, if they do lock it up and you can reach with your other hand to pry it open and then reinitiate. This is Aaron BTW
