@@dougankrum3328 It requires a human to learn how to operate and load the beams and plates, if you only have a handful of people who can operate, it still can't run 24/7/365. Robots are not ever going to run the world without humans.

Can you can give an average price for this machine?

+David Richards ...I'm sure the robotics can be ramped up/down if required...probably even have pre-programmed sub-routines that can be easily set-up in the sequence. I've worked on machine tools waaaay back in 1970-1984.....even back then it was always a .400" ramp up/down on moving parts...depending on weight of parts...and speed....

+Doug Ankrum A lot has changed in robotics and automation since 1984 I can assure you, I also started with welding automation in 1970 and with Unimation robots in 1977 and to my surprise I am still in the business today building and supplying automated robotic systems. Of course there are still sub routines etc but these have no effect on inter movement speeds, transition curves, acceleration, de acceleration point speeds are set to maximum relative to the application, not like the old days when we would put in our own arbitrary speeds depending on how you felt that day!This company is technically a competitor of mine, however I have to admit it is an excellent, top quality system and you can see that the robots are working at the optimum speed for these type parts, based on what it is doing, I can not see this could be programmed any faster, smoothly or better by anyone I know.Please understand, this is why I get a bit shitty about the "experts" who criticise and comment on things they have absolutely no idea about and deride a good machine and company.

Yes you can make it "smoother" but why? Smoother in robot world generally means higher cycle times which are more important than looks.

You are right on the money brother the structural shop i work for just gave us welders a heads up that in a couple of months we will no longer be needed due to automated machines..

Look at how jerky the movement is! They obviously didn't care to optimize parameters such as acceleration. Disappointing.

Depending on the weight of the plate it is carrying it will adjust it's speed.
