So why would you go back to Bd's when we now have mobile phones? How can this be a benefit to locksmith s on the road? Let me tell you.

So nice to see an employer concerned about the safety of their employer whilst driving and trying to communicate

When you slice this all down, it is basically just an android phone running a small set of apps - zello, text messaging, and perhaps GPS. They are significantly cheaper than a phone, but they are also extremely limited. That said, the idea here is a device that works like the familiar walkie talkie, which even the biggest luddites in your group can generally figure out. On that level, they are awesome. That someone can also use their phone and join your group is even better. For what it's worth, password protected channels are the best way to go for free, and of course the $6 US or whatever a month is a way to get much more privacy. Good tip: many of these devices work on wifi. So if you have a large warehouse with people who never leave the building but you want to find them, a bunch of these things without any simcard required is nice.

You're 100% correct about using the handheld network radio and getting pulled over by the police. That's exactly what happened to me. If you plan to use one though, just keep it closer to your lap so they can't see it. But those devices pick up your voice just fine even from a further distance away.

FYI: There are external speaker mics available for the ANYSECU portable radios, so in a vehicle you could put the radio in a holder and use the mic like a standard mobile.

The one in the video is a good unit, you can add apps, and it works like a CB easy to use and boots up in the app, so it works like a CB with no need to do anything, only downfall is, you have to pay for a sim card, or pay for zello business, and it takes about 60 seconds to power on

In the US - You can get free data plans that permit about 25mb of data per month. That is MORE than enough for voice transmissions for the entire month.

Android have some new feature for set alarm app there is car mode where you can just swipe on the screen to select channels. Maybe you can map physical buttons on your push to talk device to do so unfortunately I don’t have any push to talk device and check it, and there is no car mode for Apple devices unfortunately yet

contact to contact works in certain business/private environments, however talk groups in Zello are dead in the main also difficult to search for and lack of mass adoption means the ptt handsets just look like outdated android bricks with little or no secondary value

Maybe try mapping the numbers in Zello to each member as a PTT button, and then map the main PTT button to no channels. I'm thinking if you long press the number, it will keep you connected to them, and you might just be able to use the PTT to keep it open.

Is the service offering scrambling so your voice is not overheard by any one else like CB bands were ?My question is for personal security for your employees. If someone over hears your conversation with another employee, thieves can intercept your colleagues and cause physical harm if they know where you are going.

For business use it's Idea but for the public it's pure boring now that the Americans used it on trumps Congress that ruined zello because now you need to no the correct talk group how it's spelt or you need an invite
