Was just thinking about this… the only time we see snowy mountains to the northeast is in lorule in albw…what if this is hundreds of years in lorule after the triforce was restored… Wait nvm I forgot about the regular triforce imagery
I think there's zero percent chance of it happening but I think it would be awesome if we saw signs of Links Adventure like a Dungeon where there's a chest open or finding a spot where normally you'd use a hookshot to get to, maybe I'm the only one but I think it would be pretty cool since I'm sure he explored Dungeons before fighting Ganon

I still have hope for a post game or mid-game/prequel with Link, mid game if he gets an echo, as sure he could just be a maximized Link with master sword and mirror shield, but since it looks like they gave him a kit I would wager we have a substory with him in the void before we copy him at least.
I hope Nintendo hasn't forgotten the important things that has always been a part of Zelda in Echoes of Wisdom: her divine powers ( since she carries Hylia's bloodline), her intellect, and her main weapon (her Bow of Light).

@@danielmatson4209 I've been thinking the same. I don't mind the echo mechanic at all, but it would be werid for a playable Zelda game to not give her the Bow of Light. @@KairiKey989 It's also weird for me that coming after Links Awakening HD in terms of engine the echo mechanic only utilizes one spot on the Dpad and the Y button since the remake for LA gave us buttons for so many items as a quality of life feature. I don't think Nintendo would make the mistake of only giving us one mappable face button it seems so strange.
I think that the jungle will be a Faron region similar to the one in botw, which is why it has rain, tropical trees and birds. I'm looking forward to seeing how this game blends open air zelda with traditional zelda

I’m really excited for it! Zelda appears to be standing on top of ALttP’s southernmost map edge when looking out northwest over the kingdom during the title reveal. There’s little room for an entire desert and jungle biome from that point northward so it seems like we’re only seeing one half of the entire overworld map in that shot. I can’t wait to explore it all!
So excited for this game Curious to see how open air gameplay fits in a 2D plane
I hope we can play as Zelda without the cape on. I feel like they made her wear this so the game doesn’t come across too girly and would appeal to boys more
I just hope the dungeons aren’t random structures who’s only purpose in the world is for the player to explore. TP method needs to make a return

I couldn’t agree more. The feeling of exploring Arbiters Grounds was like you were in some terrifying ancient place that you should NOT be in. Same for the shadow temple from OOT. Also any kind of cave or ruin almost always feels natural in any Zelda game. Blinds hideout even feels lived in.

The dungeons of ALTTP are some of my favorite parts of any Zelda game, and any Nintendo game at all! It's a shame the dungeons of BOTW and TOTK even feel very lacking and stale. The bossfights are also kind of anticlimactic for the most part
@SheikAshii

@@epicgeometro the content of them are fine but the “random doorway placed randomly” nature of them is what I found disappointing. I like when they exist for a purpose for decades before it becomes a dungeon for Link. NPCs walking around and using it for its purpose or talking about its reasoning in the world. Iirc, ALTTP and ALBWs, Zelda 1 and 2, Oracle games etc..they’re just like sonic rails. No reason for it to be in the map except for it being exclusively for the player to use. TP goron mines are a mine. You can see what they do there, some gorons are still in it, and it is part of the lives of the population that lives there and a part of their every day life for example

@@SheikAshii I just like the more puzzle and key-focused dungeons of A Link to the Past more. It's just preference, and I get that that wouldn't really have worked in TOTK as well as a traditional-style game
Fantastic video! This is such an exciting time :) Here are some rambly thoughts of mine whilst watching... As you said, snow was not present in Hyrule in the ALINKs but was its interesting to note Lorule's Death Mtn was snowy. The trailer shot w/ Business Scrub seems to show Death Mountain being RIGHT UP AGAINST Kakariko, like closer even than in Ocarina of Time. I wonder are the Lost Woods now between Volcanic Death Mountain and the Snowy Mountains - perhaps that big hazy tree area far beyond the Castle in the cliff-view shot? I'm sure we are getting an actual coastline where those spiky monsters are hey, something like FSA has - I'd love it to lead to some sort of hint of the Village of the Blue Maiden. We've now had that, TP's Hidden Village, and the OPENAIR's combo of Hateno AND Japanese-Kakariko taking suburban(?) Hyrule and the legacy of Kakariko in different directions. Thoughts on the Deku Tree being somewhere beyond the Lost Woods... or possibly in Flute Boy's little tree haven? Those river shops really remind me of Oracle of Seasons' Sunken Village. Imagine if the Anouki showed up on the NE mountain!
Another thing Tears of the kingdom lacks on is seeing multiple perspectives (Link and Zelda) in the story itself. A playable Zelda would of help us get more of her journey in the distant past, give more in depth backstory of who Ganondorf is, the ancient sages more fleshed out, and answered some burning questions fans had been asking like 'who are the Zonai'. While the themes of building the community and sacrifice is there, othere themes like overcoming trauma, idealism vs realism, and confronting Rauru's ideal of *eternal peace* is also what the game lacks.
I've been wanting a top-down Zelda game with various races introduced in the 3d games present, and I'm ecstatic we seem to finally be getting that. Two types of zora, sheikah, gerudo, and deku scrubs are all confirmed. Gorons are all but confirmed with the settlement we can see on Death Mountain. And I wouldn't be surprised if we finally see Rito in a top-down game in the Hebra region.
so I was curious about what the -•- symbol could mean, and you mentioned Morse code. So in english Morse code it's the letter R, but in Japanese Morse code it's the symbol for Na. Quick google research told me that adding Na to the end of a sentence is meant to convey emphasis or emotion, and in other situations it's meant to leave the sentence open to discussion (like saying "the food is good, right?") So I think it's meant to be like a Morse code version of an exclamation point symbol.
It looks like each corner is death mountain (top right), gerudo desert (bottom left), lurelin jungles (bottom right), but what will the top right be? Also, in BoTW most of the mounts are snow covered and ToTK shows there is lava activity under hebra. Perhaps in the volcanic chain of hyrule, whatever is active is always labeled death mountain while the inactive becomes the snow covered hebra? This explains how they could switch on the map.
0:02 The art style is based on the Link's Awakening remake and A Link Between Worlds was literally _one game._ Also Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks say hi. You're really, REALLY making a leap in logic assuming Hyrule will be based on LttP's Hyrule...

I got money on the fact that when you go into the dark you play as link to level up zelda.... bet on it!
Looks more ambitious and I hope this doesn't result in even more frame rate dips... Link's Awakening remake was a great game but the slow down on Switch was very distracting... when you walk out of houses in the Mabe Village and even the swamp area was almost unplayable... and I'm not one who typically complains about frame rate, even if it's a stable 30fps...

Something I haven't seen any youtuber point out yet, the snowy mountain is almost confirmed to be Hebra because that's what it was called in ALTTP and ALBW. It being called Death Mountain is the western translation. So the "new" mountain on the left is actually Death Mountain, which is its actual first time appearing in the ALTTP world
0:16 the stone statues from ALTTP in the top middle are just mounds in this, is it laziness or a hint that it takes place before they were created?
It truly is heavily based on ALTTP The cave on lake hylia's island even has the island west of it that you could access a heart piece on by using the magic mirror God i cant wait for this game
Take a shot everytime he says "breath if the wild and tears of the kingdom"
I'm so READY to play this Zelda this September!
I'm very excited for this game.
My only question about Gerudo Town is why would Zelda have to sneak into it? Unless it’s sealed off to all Hylians for some reason, she should just be able to walk in.
1000 IQ nice analysis
I want this NOW
I hope the overworld is much bigger than we expect. Like 5 times the size of ALTTP. Either way, it's going to be super fun.
@commonwealthrealm honestly, we have seen these areas before. The expanded areas are in the original Legend of Zelda map. This game like, ALTTP and ALBW, takes place in what would be the Gerudo Desert in BOTW. My prediction is that in the snow covered we will find Spectacle Rock.
This bigger map got me thinking, I wounder how open Nintendo is to a reimagining of the Oracle games in that it would be silly to remake the Oracle two or even three games if you want to count secrets when you can take the idea and some of the mechanics of the Oracle games and have it take place across two or three expansive kingdoms right next to each other.
They mirrored it because they decided to make Link left-handed at the last minute and that was just the easiest way to do it.
Hah, and We get another effing Rock boss too it seems!

30-50%? I think it will be bigger. Think of how blown away we all were by the scope of Breath. It's easy to forget, now, that we've had Tears - which sort-of tripled the size of Breath - but with huge empty spaces in the sky, and lots of copy-paste, didn't feel all that much bigger. But Breath was so much bigger than previous 3D games, and felt so real and deep, it was a genuine game changer. That's going to be their goal with the first new top-down Zelda game since then, and with the simpler top-down model, there is no reason they can't do something that will take our breath away and bring us to tears when we realize how big this game world really is.
I just can't wait to experience this game
The thing I’m most looking forward to in Echoes of Wisdom is playing as Zelda.
Can't wait for this game
I'm excited to hop on top of trees. Really exemplifies the open-nature, boundary pushing element of this game. EofW is to LttP as BotW was to OoT... or so we can hope!

A link between worlds is a genuine contender for my favourite zelda.
I don't entirely know what I want, yet, but there are several things I have wanted, and this game is offering. I have long wanted a Zelda game to give me Ganon back. Not Gdorf; a human-looking person with human desires, and ambitions, but the pg demon sorcerer monster who is evil because he is. He's bringing the Trident of Power back, instead of some sword, and won't just be one middle phase in a sprawling Gdorf fight. LttP is still my favorite Zelda game, so going to to even just something like it is great, and will scratch my nostalgia itch, after so many years of Tears, Wild, and Skyward Sword being "the Zelda games. There were others, sure, and I really liked LBW, but I can honestly say it's been a long time since Twilight Princess, and that was my last great main console Zelda game. I also like that, even being top-down, it won't totally abandon the sky, as a dimension, and it will also be a bit puzzly, if you will. I enjoyed Oracle of Ages for its more puzzle focus, and I think this one will be fun for that, too. I really did hope for Tears to at least have a segment where we used Zelda, and could cover some of the "leveling up" of a sequel, instead of burning Link back down in hearts, and acting like he didn't do so much, and thus didn't have so much of his gear, again, in a direct sequel, but getting a whole game where we use her, instead of just saving her, making her a gimmick, like on Spirit Tracks, or calling the game Wand of Gamelon, is also something that I hope to love.

What if the rifts are the the dream world from links’s awakening
Hopefully that means it doesn't run into the same issues as the last 2 prior open world zeldas. I personally am not too fond of the gameplay that was shown and echo abilities, it reminds me too much of botw/totk I was expecting more of a traditional zelda experience this time around and kinda wish they went with a artstyle similar to (A link between worlds) it's so much more pleasing than the plastic look of link's awakening remake in my opinion.
