In another four months I'd like to see a collab video with Monster Maze about speculating what is and is going to be Fujibayashi's headcanon, and eventual actual canon of Zelda, in the case they do the same kind of consolidation as Sonic is assumed to have, going forward. Myself I think his personal tropes are Mirror worlds, reflections of what you DON'T do, seeping into what you DO do (Shadow Link)... And ACTUALLY just the movie The Flight of Dragons by TopCraft that preceded Studio Ghibli. Giving rise to a lot of the dragon imagery in the later games. And he just IS the Happy Mask Salesman. I think people were joking about him going on about masks even during the Majora's Mask development, which would soon materialize in his work with the Capcom staff of Zelda games and the maskedness of the Champions.

Personally i lean on both Link and Ganon having become _enslaved_ by the new villain after they "absorbed" their echoes similar to how Zelda can do so with all the enemies shown during the trailer. The final battle might involve having to free Link and Ganon from the villain's grasp before using their echoes to help Zelda deliver the finishing blow.

You know, that's an interesting theory. Imagine if both Link and Ganon have been captured by the game's actual villain and they're using the two's echoes to help take over Hyrule. Somehow I imagine that the villain will also have their own ability to create echoes similar to Zelda's.

@@davisbowe8668 Exactly what i predict is going to happen in the story as a clever subversion to prevent the story from following the usual formula of "get items, complete dungeons, fight Ganon, The End" we've seen all across the top down 2D games since the original The Legend of Zelda. Since this will be the first instance in the series where Ganon is being _controlled_ by a brand new villain i'm super hyped to see them make their appereance and wether their introduction will affect the Lore in a way we've never seen yet.

The Japanese name is mindlessly said to mean Tart Knuckle, but it's from Turtle Knuckle, very typical English words for a Japanese person to know. Probably from show wrestling terms, like turtle defense and I dunno, knuckle sandwich. Back knuckle tennis strike perhaps. Turtle shell design came to Japan very prominently in the form of high-quality eyeglasses, and the methods to manufacture resin alternatives that is a lauded ecological innovation. Similar to Japanese inventing the blue LED light, it's a household name still living on in Tart Optical Arnel. Nut like doughnut just means knot, there's nothing to it really except poor spelling to force a pun and laugh about everything being dirty if you squint and try to make it.

I’ve been thinking about how or why Zelda would end up in a prison cell in Hyrule castle. We know it’s in the castle because of the later scene of seeing Impa (maybe) fighting the soldiers in the same setting. I have one plausible explanation for it. Zelda is brought back to the castle by the soldiers. She tells the king what she saw and says she wants to go out and search for Link. The king says no. Zelda says you can’t stop me. The king says try me and locks her in the dungeon. That could be the reason she’s kinda under lockdown and the tutorial will be to escape the castle to start our search for Link.

Although I like your defiant daughter, Strict King (Very BOTW) idea, I have a feeling the King will be corrupted by evil and order the guards to capture Zelda cause she is a "Fraud" or something. I dont believe the guards themselves to be corrupted, since they look normal and Nintendo is not usually subtle with those things (Purple or Black fog surrounding corrupt characters usually.), but we 1) havnt seen the king (Probably because spoilers) and 2) can assume there is a king and the guards would listen to him over the princess, although Impa would side with the Princess and likely is the one to let her out of the jail cell.

I think she was brought to a mirror world and attacked by this world's Link, assuming she controls Ganon. Reaching the castle town she admits Link went missing and is captured as an enemy or impostor of their Zelda. Wanda. It's a little weird how she inspects her arms soona fter being released from the crystal, so she might actually be somebody in a body that's not her own, BUT on the other hand that kind of emotive body language is ofthen pretty clumsily directed, like overacting for a theater play. IN which case it probably means nothing, just "oh, look at me, I'm freed!" chewing the scenery. Also I for certain reasons suspect the game is entirely worldless, in the same way as Paper Mario. This would be partly to hide the fact you're not actually playing as A Zelda, but it's hard to say to what extent. Could also be Zelda in the body of Wanda.

Somehow I picture this having to appear in some sort of "Echo Realm". A void with a golden glow, like a counter to the purple one infesting the land. Within the defined boundaries of the space available in this realm, we can summon cost-free or nearly cost-free echoes (probably some purchase mechanic before we can use certain things and a limit on the total number of pieces that can be conjured at once) which have permanence instead of having a time limit to despawn. ... ... ... Actually, what if the stones that we activate with the yellow marks act as access points to this place? And maybe it could tie into some story purpose like we're constructing a defense against the infesting void by building something there?

There is zero evidence we play as Link. I'm good with it either way, but this has always looked like a cutscene to me. The spinjump doesn't look controlled to me. I'm worried people are hyping up Link segments, or Zelda with a sword, to cope with the fact that the game might just be different. I'm ok with different, in this case. I would like Zelda to get some Zelda-like abilities in addition to her echoes, but I have a sneaking suspicion the echoes and some utility items are all we may get.

  • @MuljoStpho

    Ай бұрын

I'll reserve my "multiple character selection" expectations for some future title after this one. The purpose of this one will be to flesh out an alternative play style from everything we're familiar with. We've got decades of experience with how somebody aligned with the Courage value system approaches combat and problem solving (although arguably some Links do get some splashes of Wisdom (any time we've had access to magic, especially if it could manipulate a situation to our benefit) and Power (trial by combat to earn Gorons' respect and to get the Bulblin King to back down, plus some of the overpowered war machines that we could build in TotK) mixed into their journey as well). Now it's time to really establish how the Wisdom way of thinking is different from that. Functionally, as a playable character. Some other game in the future (possibly after a Power aligned character gets a solo game as well) can have a team dynamic with a Link and a Zelda and... a Groose, I guess? A trio sharing a journey together and filling different niches in the team. Or more than three characters to be more like what TP's freedom fighters or BotW's champions or TotK's sages could've been like as active party members. A great big mashup of all of those concepts where the party includes 2 or 3 members per each of the 3 mindsets (6-9 characters in total, including Link) but at the same time some of them might be hybrids between a couple mindsets to some degree instead of them all being 100% one way to make the gameplay more unique for each of them. (Pure Courage, Pure Wisdom, Pure Power, Courage with a splash of Wisdom, Courage with a splash of Power, Wisdom with a splash of Courage, Wisdom with a splash of Power, Power with a splash of Courage, Power with a splash of Wisdom. Each with their own signature weapon and their own bag of tricks.)

While I agree with the overall message of your comment, there is teeny tiny sugestion that the Ganon part might be playable as Link. All npcs and enemies in game as well as in cinematics seem to have normal shadows, but playable Zelda and Tri have just plain circles under them (not taking sun position etc.). Zelda has normal shadow when the opening cutscene plays though, so we have some info to understand that circles are only under Zelda when she's playable, and Link during these stages has indeed plain circular shadow. I'm not so sure about regular swapping of characters in later games or Hero Mode swap, highly unlikely, but they may want to repeat that TotK vibe from the beginning

  • @Fenriskoll

    @Fenriskoll

    Ай бұрын

@@karolfortuna8522 you could have a point, but I think it might be static npcs have better defined shadows. I dunno for sure, but maybe npcs that move have the circular shadows, or as someone else argued, the circular shadows could be to help better determine the landing position of some attacking creatures, since it's top-town. I can't explain the shadows, but something tells me it's not for controllable characters. It would be super cool though. Don't get me wrong, a playable link would be great, but I think Nintendo might be coming from the perspective that this isn't links game, so we don't play as link. I don't believe we require Link as a main protag anymore, but the fans... and you know, other trash opinions about gender etc. Even more exciting than that would be a playable Ganon, but I see no chance of that. Nintendo likes their villians 2d. Perspective grants nuance, and we fight ganon, not empathize, as cool as a "breaking the cycle" storyline would be where they all team up.

My theory is that Zelda is imprisoned by the King because she wants to go out and find Link. The king probably doesn't want her to risk her life like that, and thus you have to escape from the castle and hide your identity with the cloak. By the way, I love how everyone was speculating if we would be able to play as Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom, and now we're theorizing that we might get to play as Link in Echoes of Wisdom.

Another thing to consider about Zelda in Disguise, Link, while is able to make comments during choice dialogue, is often a silent protagonist, Zelda is more often than not, a much more talkative character. That said, since she’s now playable, I can assume her disguise is more likely made so she isn’t as talkative, to not give away those talking to her as THE PRINCESS OF HYRULE. Going undercover means limiting how she’s going to address others. We might even go back to naming her ourselves as an alias, like back in the day where we could rename Link to fit the save file. Wishful thinking, but it’s possible for Nintendo to do that call back, or simply use our switch profile name.

Top-down Zelda games and the dungeon spaces they contain are far more easy to build limitations around. Furthermore, brute-forcing the same or similar solutions to most puzzles/challenges is not going to be the same issue as it was for some in TotK. 3D spaces are easier to exploit than ‘2D’ ones

The stones with holes in them kind of remind me of an ocarina, but I've not seen anybody else talking about that. I don't think they **are** ocarinas, but I think it's neat that their shape is vaguely reminiscent of one. My theory is that perhaps they can refill Tri's energy or maybe even have something to do with upgrading it.

Since Zelda wields the Tri Rod for creative puzzle solving and spawning monsters to attack your enemies, I hope Nintendo hasn’t forgotten her divine power, her intellect (as a scholar), her time power (since she is the Sage of Time) and her signature weapon- her Bow of Light. They are very important parts to Princess Zelda. And what they've could of help the geoglyph memories in the TOTK side story we only get a glimpse of her journey in the distant past. I hope more reveals will be shown before Echoes of Wisdom is released.

Three minor corrections: 18:20 I believe that would be more of a brazier than a torch. Torches are primarily a single piece of wood. 23:19 That is a seagull, not a crow. It has a stereotypical coloration for a seagull, and, you know, crows are black. 28:07 That is a wind device, not a spotlight. Its nozzle is just like the ones blowing earlier in the video, and the emission from the one she copied is not uniform like a beam of light.

Some other stuff: When the rift cockblocks a guy (10:07), you can see she turns white as she sinks further. This doesn't happen with Link or Zelda, assuming she does enter the rifts that way. Possibly implying it petrifies the "not important," maybe non-Triforce-related, people. The potion that the Deku Scrub is holding (25:35) has 3 different colors in it which I believe is never seen in any other games, though he could just mix it into a proper potion after taking it out. The fountain in Castle Town with the Royal Crest seems different between the box art (26:07) and the trailer scene (8:26). The box art's appears more like the crests in Skyward Sword that you need to Skyward Strike. It's a similar crystalline-lavender color. In the box art, I believe you can see the top of the Great Deku Tree on the upper right, just above the Peahat. This is a little unrelated, but the Octoroks have goat eyes... 26:07

That breakable entrance in front of Lake Hylia is present in ALttP. I suspect they're going to merge the ALttP world with some BotW locations. The mountain on the right could be death mountain and the mountain on the left could be Hebra (though not icey or the mountainous region that makes up the Rito Village area. There appears to be a larger tree area behind Hyrule Castle which would align with the Lost Woods as depicted in BorW. Kakariko wouldn't be to the left, it would be on the right in BotW. The area on the left look like cubed blocks, a bit like big quarry stone. Which is a little reminiscent of Breah of Demise in the sense that it is very quarry like in its rock texture.

I'm willing to bet the Ganon at the beginning is an echo summoned by whoever the villain of this game is. Maybe they got the copy of Ganon from a Ganon sealed by a previous Zelda and Link or some sages and he or she is trying to free Ganon because they are a servant of Ganon or they want to use his power like Yuga. I also imaging we will fight evil echo's of Link from time to time but we won't be able to make copy of him because we can't make a copy of a copy. That might also be the exclamation we get for why we can't make copy's of the bosses since they'll likely be echo's of the bosses Link fought on his adventure remade by our new villain. I also think Tri like Midna is a resident of this rift dimension that got caught up in this new villain's schemes and seeks aid from Zelda. I imaging at the end of the game we'll have a boss fight with the new villian our echo's vs their's. maybe they needed Link to unseal ganon witch is why they captured him. either way Ganon will get freed he'll likely get our new vilains echo staff during his boss fight. Then Zelda using Link echo's would be the main mechanic in the boss fight since the the real Link will likely be incapacitated in some way. On a side note I'm surprised no one has mentioned the climbable walls in the peahat scene also keep in mind we'll be able to bring Hyrules most dangerous weapon into battle cuccos.

Those are really good questions. In regards to "Will there be bosses for Zelda fight?", I think that is damn near certain given the structure for the boss fight of the Top Down is a perfect set-up for Zelda's skill which is to say the boss typically having a weakness to unique weaknesses throughout the dungeons and being taken on akin to a sort of puzzle oriented fight. I think the Palaces will have unique echo's Zelda will need and I think in regards to Link the game will probably refer to needing to free the chosen hero. I'm very curious myself.

***ABOUT LINK BEING POSSIBLY PLAYABLE *** I full on agree with the idea of still being able to play as Link in this game. I just cant shake the idea that this game is actually not "Zelda playable exclusive," however for probably most of the game you do play as Zelda as the main protagonist. Aonuma sensei himself said that she's the protagonist. I just don't see it happening though, where we absolutely avoid controlling Link at least a few times in this game. Also I feel like this game could be the origin of Dark Link, or some new way of series rendering Dark Link giving that the box art has Link next to Ganon with a dark aura around him. He might end up as an antagonist. We might have to beat him in combat (maybe midgame before kicking off the next act) and bring him to his senses all in the while gaining a "possibly playable," ally! If this is a thing and if possible we also get some kind of 2 player co-op (wishful thinking I know) but still, if we find out that this game is that much more in the near future, my mouth will be absolutely flooded with beautiful game wanting-ness and "she beckoning me," drool!!!
