If I had spent money for this, I would expect the pieces to be the size of splinters. A 2x4 passed thru unscathed for crying out loud.

One would think that there would be more companies using this slow speed high torque technique. The others that spin faster, get stuck, back out to clear, and re-feed, are simply wasting fuels, man-hours, and maintenance down time, which all add up to big money in a yard that goes 24/7. Do a search for this one. It does do cars blocks and trans

Gracias

From here it is taken to a proper shredder, Where the process starts all over again, The materials are reduced smaller and sorted into recycled materials, This stream is by far the worst example of the operation on UTUBE to date😅

The material processed is not where these machine was designed for, they are throwing in bales of already shredded metal and just pull them apart. The motorcycle is the type of metal that should be shredded in this, I expected whole cars getting in, and steel sections etc., sure this thing has enough torque to even crush engine blocks or HEB200 steel section.

For the 100ds of millions of tires available in every country, I haven't seen any machine do the job fast enough. I'm not seeing the pieces being shredded smaller than the entry one. Rotation is way too slow, and the teeth are way too large. The teeth should've been at a V angle with the square point, for the tires shredding R.P.M at 3 times, btw, should the tire be de-wired first?

Seems to be a complete inefficient waste of energy. Why crush the 55 gal drums if you are going to grind it into medium size pieces? Have a grinder where the cans are crushed. Maybe for transportation reasons. And will these pieced be ground into even smaller pieces? If so then have big grinder dump into smaller grinder etc.

There are better and faster metal shredders on youtube. Lot of large unshredded pieces going through to pile. One viewer mentioned the unprotected hydraulic hoses hanging near the side waiting to be ripped off by a piece that misses the hopper. Needs a second shredder to regrind the spoils pile. Other shredders have a magnetic conveyor to sort out ferrous metal as it exits the machine. Back to the drawing board for this one.

Most of what they put in there looks shredded already. I bet the owner quite disappointed with this smasher more then a shredder, and the cost. I have seen the older shredding machine,s do a more efficient job by far, and they hardly ever stop and back up to clear the jamb in there machine.
