Zack Snyder Needs to be STOPPED | Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver REVIEW

Комедия

This week the boys are looking at Zack Snyder's newest series of films Rebel Moon. Is Zack BACK? or is this just another entry in a long catalogue of vapid films for mouth breathers? Do I really need to ask?

    I personally believe Zack Snyder is a good example of failing upwards through his career! Literally stealing all the hype from Paul W.S! Also imho please reconfigure your scoring. It is more beneficial for me as a watcher to know that a shit movie that you hate is not an 8! I mean it comes a bit insincere.

    Maybe Rebel Moon will be used in film school on what not to do. With that said I became a Snyder fan after 300 but the problem is he never moved on from that constant stylistic slomo, he kind of invented it something new at the time, it worked for 300 beyond that idk. Rebel story structure definitely needed a lot of rewrites but man it’s a head scratcher what’s going on with Zack. This is a case of some executive influence probably would’ve helped make it better. I get his need for full artistic control but It’s all about balance between maker and studio heads in the end.

    I think Rebel Moon is a lot more interesting analyzing on its many issues than the movie itself is.

    That Dark Past song segment alone earned you a new subscriber. :D It's weird how Snyder doesn't seem to even care about this version. He was contracted to make a PG-13 movie but it seems like he doesn't care about it, only about his R-rated cut and this is just an afterthought that allows him to make it. But I don't know how adding an hour to each movie could make them better, they are already stretched beyond belief.

    Thank you! That was kind of an experiment. I wanted a montage song, but thought that something custom would be funny. Wrote the lyrics and used an AI music generator and thought the result was even funnier than I expected. The directors cut for this movie is such a joke. The PG13 cut just feels like a movie that was supposed to be R that they just forgot to add the digital blood in. Also, thank you for checking out our video! -Alec

    Zach Snyder is a hack. He has been praised as a great visual director, but he was only the actual cinematic director for Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead, and they look like hot garbage. Every 'good' movie that Snyder has ever made was good because it was written by someone else.

    Are you guys thinking of doing another 'react to viewer films' at any point in the future? I just recently discovered your channel (thanks to your blessed/cursed connection with Ralph) and really vibe with your style of comedy, more casual filmmaking discussions, and honest friendship. I've been studying film for the last few years and have now made a few films that I'm actually somewhat happy with, unlike most all my school projects. I'd love to hear your thoughts, see your reactions!

    @@UncleMikki I'd revisit it. My wife and I watched it for the first time a year or so ago and were pretty shocked at how much we liked it. We liked the story and messaging I guess. But I think maybe the movie just doesn't click with a lot of people and there's flaws that maybe we overlooked because of the stuff we liked. Dunno.

    Absolutely not, the “dark past flashback” scene is the only thing that brought us any enjoyment but it’s a drop in the bucket. The fact that we watched them both together and were joking around the entire time was the only thing that got us through them, if we had to watch it separately there is no way we would have all made it through. There are so many things more worthy of your time

    That is actually one of the more interesting things about this movie to me. It is so on-the-nose that it almost feels like a satire of itself. Like with the Dark Past scene, there are so many moments that feel like they are jokes just missing a punchline.

    I’m gonna argue Paul Anderson was copying the later Matrix movies with slow motion fighting in big drops of rain. People did EFFECTIVELY use slo-mo before Zack.

  • @UncleMikki

    @UncleMikki

    Ай бұрын

    That is fair, I agree the Matrix is definitely more to blame for slo-mo in the 2000’s than Zack Snyder. I stand by my sentiment that Zack Snyder was at one point much closer to being a trend setter and with each passing year since the 2010 has just become a director on the same level of Paul WS Anderson

    sometimes i wonder if zack snyder is making these bad on purpose, ie he's deliberately making as bad a films as possible using the biggest generic dumb sci fi action fantasy tropes he could imagine just to see how many people will watch it and say its good, specifically snyder fans, who then make up some bs deeper meaning to it that other people just 'dont get'. like he just got to point in life where he said 'f it i dont care, lets see how much i can take the piss'
