“He puts the visual ahead of the logic” is his career in a nutshell. He should’ve been a cinematographer, not a director.

He sucks at cinematography too, he's never really done his own cinematography until he started working on Netflix, and unsurprisingly all those 3 movies have shit cinematography and editing, he's been hand held his entire career and taken the credit for Larry Fong's work, Snyder is really talentless

Except other than a few cool shots his films look like shit smeared across the screen. It's honestly hard to look at. Not sure why every shot has the most shallow depth of field making every shot look totally flat. And I'm not sure what his obsession with the terrible fish-eye lens and awful blur over every single thing. It looks horrible. It's the exact same way he shot Army of the Dead and that looked like crap, too.

Didn't he use some old lens he found somewhere for Army of the Dead that had dead pixels? Yeah, "brilliant cinematographer"
I've been watching the reviews about Rebel Moon. It's a relief to know that I'm not the only one scarred by watching this.

The algorithm just sent your channel to my feed and I'm glad of it. You guys are hilarious 🤣 Keep 'em coming and I thank you ❤
You say he wasn’t bound by any rules, lore or story necessity being it was HIS story to tell however he wanted, but he was bound by his lack of creativity and the lack of people surrounding him giving him any constructive criticism. Deborah Snyder is his producer and there’s no way in hell she’s going to say anything to him about how creatively bankrupt the movie is. She helped him make his “female empowerment movie” Sucker Punch. He’s a lost cause at this point and has been post-Watchmen.

Somehow he has a Director's Cut in the works...how that's possible with full creative control is beyond me

@@badmoviedate My only thought is that after all the Snydercut nonsense with WB, he made an arrangement with Netflix so there’s going to be another Snydercut of Rebel Mess. Double dipping on the Snyderites.
The sad thing is, is this is just Seven Samurai in the Star Wars universe and he still messed it up. He had a formula. He could have copied Seven Samurai, beat by beat and no one would have noticed. His fans would have ate that slop up. But he couldn’t even do that. The test was open book, how do you still fail?
Yo, discovered this channel, like, a week ago or something and absolutely love your videos! You two have a fantastic energy and you make even the worst movies super entertaining with your reactions! Just wanted to get that out, you guys rock!

I lasted 15 minutes into the 1st movie. It was the slow motion that got me. It just irritates me.

I made it to the end of the first one but I didn't bother with this. It was the planetary backgrounds. They were just so obviously digital and sets. That worked fine in 300 because it was trying to look like a comic but this didn't need to.

Good video. These commentary videos are funner than the movies themselves. May the grain be with you 🫡🌾

And we've seen *all* of them.
I know of one channel that gave this good marks. The Sci Fi Center Las Vegas, he owns a comic book shop by the same name. The dude is totally delusional about ZS. He still defends Ezra and thinks ZS could still come back to DC. ZS draws fans like 💩 draws flies.

An all timer
you should not accept this even from a newbie director either. no excuse, not with +200 million budget. Zack Snyder has reached M. Night Shyamalan levels of bad.
Lost it, as if he ever had it to begin with.
The only reason he used farmers and grain as a plot device was because of Seven Samurai. Couldn’t even come up with something original. Honestly could’ve used pretty much anything else. 👎😂
😂
Luv from Portugal as always, great reviews :)
Army of the Dead was an abomination, but Rebel Moon is somehow even worse. If it had been edited down to one film it would have been better. A 3-hour cut of R-film might be better, but my God, Snyder makes so many logic fallacies in this movie it boggles the mind. He has some talent, but he needs an army of helpers to bring that to the screen without looking like an idiot. He thinks he is some film god who can do no wrong.

Definitely a case of being left unchecked creatively.
