    1. Interstellar travel is powered by coal. 2. Empire capable of warp travel, can bring people back from the dead, guns that fire lava lasers, hasn't invented food synthesisers or food creation technology on giant massive starship. 3. General titus and abs dude have thick plot armour to protect against hundreds of soldiers firing lava laser. 4. It took 3 days to farm grain that normally takes weeks. 1 day to train villagers to be navy seals and 1 day to dig network of underground tunnels. 1 day to knit quilts, and still we didnt get any character development 😂.

Did anyone else notice how Kora slaughters all the medics who were desperatly trying to save her life a second before and then jumps into the engine room and slaughters a bunch of guys who appear to be slave labour. Nice. Or the bit where the evil empire officer allows their drop ship in, saying, "dont worry soldier, well bring you home"; quite heroic I thought. What the hell is wrong with that script?

Actually... that's the ONE thing that kind of makes sense when described like that. She's still a ruthless murderer, and in a competent movie this would be done exactly like this; and then addressed. Perhaps a different character would see her and be shocked by her actions, and then try to tralk to her or rationalise. Ah but no. Snyder, doing because KEWL

Even IF I can buy that the starships are fueled by coal, they still need human people to literally shovel it? There's no way to automate coal delivery to the engine? Maybe the third film will be half slo-mo shots of coal being shovelled so we can really immerse ourselves in that world.

One of the things that really stands out is: we spend the first movie, gathering all these Not-Magnificent 7 warriors. So you would think, they all have some special skills, that will come to play during the final battle, right? WRONG! For example, that Tarzan looking mofo. We spend a long sequence in part 1 where he tames that Hippogriff. So, apparently he has the ability to "talk" to these creatures and you think, he will go out, find a flock of them and use them to fight the Imperium, right? He doesn´t do any of this and just fights like a regular soldier. What was the point of recruiting him?! Or how about the Asian chick with the (not)-lightsabers? You would think, she would go full-on Rurouni Kenshin and bust out some insane swordfighting moves and what not, right? Again, WRONG! She has 1, badly choregraphed slow-motion fight scene against 4 soldiers, which she barely manage to defeat and dies from her injuries. Like, WTF?! And then there´s General Titus, who has been hyped up in part 1 as "the Empire´s greatest military commander" and what not. You think: "O.K. he´s gonna come up with some brilliant guerilla warfare tactics or something..." So what is his "brilliant strategy"? Plan A: " stack up the sacks of flour around the huts and use them for cover. The Imperium wants the grain/flour, so they won´t just blow it up with their bigass space lazers." and Plan B: "O.K. Plan A didn´t work, let´s just do a frontal assault, against an enemy force which outnumbers AND outguns our force." F*ck me sideways, Alexander the Great, Hannibal Barca, Sun Tzu, Napoleon Bonaparte, Marshal Rommel & General Patton have nothing on this guy, when it comes to military strategy!

7:30: "You cannot win." Geez. It's just awful. Also, if Titus knows that the princess is alive, then he knows that the robots gave up the fight because they all believe the royal family is dead, so he could TELL the robot that the princess is alive, which would recruit him to the fight. The robot could have communicated with all the other robots in the area, bringing them to the planet, unbeknownst to the heroes, allowing them to win the day and begin the REAL rebellion. Also, this movie is terrible. This entire movie could have been action. We could have mobilized all the players, in the FIRST movie.

Kora's stupid to think if she surrenders, Daario1 or the evil empire would just let the villagers continue living peacefully. Did she immediately forget Titus' rant about the empire killing all of his men despite promising their safety in exchange for his surrender? did she forget the betrayal of her adoptive dad who promised he'll protect her from any consequences of murdering the princess? did she really trust the word of Daario1 and the empire? really?? it was actually a good thing Daario2 proceeded with their original plan, at least they're ready to fight then and there instead of later when lulled into a false sense of relief that they're being let go and they put their guards down.

My thoughts when she gave them the croche things with "their characters" were about how in well written book, this would make sense after maybe three to six months with the community. Montage style bit would be nice- planting seeds, pulling weeds, waiting for rain or protecting from frost, interspersed with bits of bonding during meals and stuff.. I know in movies this should be shortened, but he somehow omited such parts completely and went on as if the emotions that were supposed to be build up by such scenes were there. I guess better director would be able to add certain nuances that could do the heavy lifting, but Zack, while a great guy, doesn't seem to be aware of such things as "nuances".

Well, to play devil's advocate, at that point in the film when they're placing grain all over the village, the protagonists were not even aware that Atticus Noble was still alive & they presumed that the Imperium was in desperate need of the grain as they were still heading over to Veldt instead of heading back to the Motherworld.

  • @reviewbomb85

    @reviewbomb85

    Ай бұрын

I suppose you’re right.they didn’t know he was alive. But now this raises some other questions. If they just think they are coming back for the grain that they demanded in the first place, then why place them in strategic locations for defense? Unless they have some reason to think that the Imperium knows who would have “killed” Nobel, and want to apprehend them. In which case it seems like they would expect an orbit attack anyway, grain or no grain. And of course there is still the issue of the imperium still killing everyone after they take the grain anyway.

So... recently I watched one of Zack's films from before the fame got to him. It's called 300. It's based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller, itself a fantastical retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae. But here's the thing: It was amazing. It was genuinely fantastic! Why? Because Zack was working with the best possible script and best possible crew for the film. I actually gained the theory that the good films he made were group efforts after rewatching Man of Steel this year, and between my viewing of 300, the beatdowns Rebel Moon is getting, and me considering Sucker Punch my least favourite film, I'm convinced! Zack Snyder directed good films in the 2000s because he was skilled at bringing together and leading a solid team of creatives. He's a shitmeister nowadays, because he, like many others before and after him, let the fame get to his head and thought he could write. The lesson you can take from Zack's career? Know your strengths and never let fame and ego get the better of you.

Man of steel. The creation of the dc extended universe. And his daughter offing herself from this world. Truly put Zack into a sellout who thinks he knows better and only having a slow mo direction of things. Some attempts of being a captain of all movie professions. Increased his ego that he became another Hollywood shill type. Plus he was only good when he directed stories based on the comics or stories. He can use his iconic slow mo. But still. Man of steel is where he bridged between novice and liked to known and hated upon.

Honestly think that Zack is trying to ruin film making for everyone. I think he's actively sabotaging human development and the entertainment industry as a whole. It's the only way I can understand any of his career.

I.. never thought I would see a professionally made movie with writing more amateurish than The Last Jedi and Return of the Skywalker, but here we are. ...I'm talkin g about Rebel Moon Part 1 of course. After that, there's NO WAY I'm seeing anymore of that franchise. Just here giving clicks to yt critics. People, we need to wake up and stop enabling holywood hacks from making sh*t. They won't get better for as long as we watch.

I will admit I was one of the biggest Zack Snyder fans and I enjoyed the Justice League Zack Snyder cut except it needed a good 30 to 45 minutes of extra shit cut out that was just stupid like singing for Aquaman and smelling his sweater was stupid but is that Schneider lost me completely with Rebel movement and then forever with Rebel Moon part 2 because like you said these are tedious and they have no character or story and it's just slow mo and pictures that are supposed to look cool and I don't know anymore today after watching the second Rebel Moon movie then I knew before I watched either movie about any of the characters it's just nothing there and therefore has a huge Zack Snyder fan I will admit I was wrong and he is overhyped and I'm no longer a fanboy because this was his one chance to prove everybody wrong and he made me look like a fool for backing him up and you can only do that once to me before I say fuck that shit. He is a hack writer a bunch of Yes Men instead of people telling him the truth and yeah I agree he apparently loves the smell of his own farts

Agreed. Watchmen and the DC adaptations show some promise. But I think that even there, he was just doing his best Frank Miller impression. With full creative control, this may be the best we can get. Hard to see a part III green lit.

@@wimpymcsteel4458 I agree I'm pretty disappointed he had so much potential and I was bragging about well Zack Snyder's got his own Netflix movies his own budget nobody holding his strings so he can finally do whatever he wants and he's going to show all of you exactly how fantastic and awesome he is and then Rebel Moon part 1 and 2 came out and I can no longer defend him. Now I will admit I do like Army of the dead and the prequel to Army of the dead and I hope we get another movie in that one but as far as Rebel moon goes and I'm giving one last shot at the 6-hour R-rated bulshit but after that I'm pretty much done

You're wrong about "scargiver". That's her "nom de guerre" from her days serving the Motherworld. Noble also mentions it in the first movie. PS: The movies sucked ass, but if you're wrong, you're wrong.
