I remember that was what had happened to Robert Gsellman one his years with the Mets. He was healthy enough to pitch, but had some sort of problem/injury that made it that he couldn't and/or was not allowed to swing the bat. Being a starting pitcher at the time, it resulted in standing at the plate with 0 intention of ever swinging a single time.

Saw him pitch a one-hitter against the Mariners while he was with KC. After the game, when we realized we only had one hit, I said I wished Jojima wouldn't have gotten that hit. Could've saw a no-hitter or a perfect game.

I love this man and it's so crazy to me that he still plays. Like this was a childhood idol of mine who I watched play for the Wilmington Blue Rocks and I'm 30 now, dude is STILL a starting pitcher. Dude is a legend!!

You should've also mentioned that he was calling his own pitches for the whole at-bat with his own PitchCom, which he's got mounted on his belt instead of his glove like all the other pitchers!
