Zach Braff Reveals Nick Cordero's 'Tragic' Final Moments

Ойын-сауық

Nick Cordero's memory will forever live on in the hearts and minds of his loved ones, including his friend Zach Braff. Zach dedicated his latest episode of his hit podcast "Fake Doctors, Real Friends" to the late Broadway star, and shared a few details about the Broadway star's final moments. "Just for clarity’s sake, he didn’t have COVID-19 anymore. What COVID did to Nick is what it does to a lot of people, it comes in and wreaks havoc on your body. Then it leaves and you don’t have it anymore, but you’re left with what the doctors called ‘lungs that look like Swiss cheese,'" he shared.

Tinker Tailor I don’t know of him either but I was following his story and praying hard for him. It was because he had a young child and their family looked so happy, with promise of a great life ahead. He also looked like he was a good family man. Rest in peace, Nick and blessings to his wife and son.

If you are watching this, please be mindful of other people. Wear a mask, socially distance and hand sanitize. This virus does not chose...it affects everyone. One can be affected without knowing they have it. Another person might end up having tragic effects. If you don’t care about yourself...think of a loved one.

I think along with everything you're saying, the fact that loved ones are not able to be there and hold their hand the entire time they're in the hospital makes people pass away. Just the love and strength from knowing someone is holding your hand gives you power to try to keep alive. If you have brief moments of clarity and nobody's there day after day after day, then you would also going to depression. This is such a sad case, but all of them are. I'm speaking as an RN. I can tell you why he died. His wife stated that Nick was bedridden for 5 day's straight. With severe weakness and shortness of breath and a fever. Not only did he have Coronavirus, he developed pneumonia. Unfortunately, he waited 4 day's too long to get immediately treated for the pneumonia. It just spiraled out of control from there. Having pneumonia for that long will kill you fast. That is what kill's people with the flu. You develop pneumonia. 5 day's lying in bed IS what killed him. I wish they had called his doctor on the 1st. day. knowing that the Coronavirus was in full effect and could be possible, They acted way too late. Please, if you have 1 day straight of shortness of breath, fever, weakness, GO to the hospital. The sooner you get treated, the odds of recovery increase dramatically. I really feel that this is a case of treatment way too late because 97.8% of people with Coronavirus recover. Most people don't even know they have it. Nick was compromised with pneumonia, THAT is why he die.

lenale walker As an RN your advice is correct, but due to Coronavirus the advice given was DO NOT GO TO THE DOCTOR SELF ISOLATE, DO NOT ROCK UP AT A&E EXPECTING TO BE SEEN SELF ISOLATE it was drummed into us over and over again. Getting to speak with a doctor on the phone was difficult so your told to call 111... you call 111 and get told to SELF ISOLATE until your symptoms worsen, when does a non medical person know they are ill enough to insist they have to be seen, how many people who weren’t as ill as they said did get seen. I’m not questioning your advice or your opinion but Nick & Amanda thought they were doing the right thing, under the circumstances I think your post is inconsiderate, all it can possibly lead to is self doubt and people reading it thinking they could have prevented the death of a loved one .... and the “if only...” thought process helps nobody.

Thanks lenale walker. This is why it's important to get a flu shot this season, especially while the coronavirus is wreaking devastation all around us. You don't want to get sick with the flu while the health care system is just swamped with Covid-19 patients. Wear a mask, stay indoors as much as possible, keep your distance from others, and for the love of God wash your hands. This is all we've got to protect ourselves from a devastating pathogen.

Sorry but part of what you're saying is not 100% factual: Coronavirus wasnt "running rampant" when Nick was diagnosed. He was diagnosed at the end of March, towards the beginning of the pandemic when little was known about it here yet. Also what you may not know if you weren't following from the onset or had personal connections to him in the beginning is that he also tested NEGATIVE for COVID-19 before he tested positive so he wasn't given any amount of prompt care for the virus itself until long after it had taken hold.

As saddened as I am by this I am genuinely wondering why they left him on life support for so long - I am wondering why they prolonged his suffering when the prognosis was so bad - it almost seems unethical. I don’t mean it in a judgemental way I am genuinely curious it just doesn’t seem right.

It is unethical to take people off life support if they’re still alive- aka not « brain dead », which Nick wasn’t. That would be considered euthanasia. Life support can be taken off when people is already brain dead, which means they have lost consciousness and all autonomic functions and it’s really just all the machines taking up the physiology work of the body. No matter how bad the prognosis is you can’t take off life support if the person isn’t brain dead. Towards the end I understand that Nick was responsive and regained consciousness. This is so sad cause this is gonna happen more... People still aren't taking this seriously. Right now we have people ignoring it all... Zach's words need to be played to everyone going out, not social distancing and all those not wearing masks. To all the people claiming they want their liberty and to all those saying they are "peacefully" protesting. You are all responsible for heartaches like this. Ones that could have so easily been avoided. Stay at home, people. Only go out if absolutely necessary. Wear facemasks as you could be carrying the virus without knowing. Stay well distanced. Wash your hands and please don't touch your face. Wipe down anything you buy and even consider wearing gloves. Covid hasn't gone. It is still there and a 2nd wave is looking very likely. NZ had no new cases for so long then bam... last week a spike in new cases. Why? People thought we were okay. Stay safe, everyone. My heart goes out to Amanda and Elvis. Her world must be upside down. A pain you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. ❤ RIP ❤

I’m sure it was the ventilator that destroyed his lungs. That’s what doctors in NYC are saying. High doses of oxygen but not the pressure of the vent!

It sounded like they didn't put him on one till after the lung damage. They know now not to put people on it right away.

Boy I tell ya! The world is not what it once were. People really need to take their health seriously and because medical profession and CDC don't know a lot about this deadly virus its important just to wear your mask to protect yourself. I know there going to be others who say.."oh mask don't protect anyone." Well I tell you what...you don't have to wear it then. Its your life. BUT, because, I am just as befuddled as the scientist, medical professionals, CDC..I am wearing mines..so know one can spit their old dna in my face and mouth and I passed it on to others. This shit ain't nothing to play with and when you see someone struggling to breathe and can't move around like they once could that's no laughing matter. I pray God with strengthen your family and give you peace in the coming weeks and months to come. It's never easy but God is a mystery God he will take our troubles away in his time. Trust him. R.I.P Nick🙏

People like you make me disgusted of humanity. Callous jerk. I hope you never experience how it’s like to lose a loved one.
