Zac co-wrote this touching song with his friend Wayne Durette, and you guys hit it right on the head. Durette started writing the lyrics while driving from Atlanta to Augusta, Ga., on Interstate 20 to return his son to the care of his ex-wife after their biweekly visit. The longing and the heartache in the lyrics are very real. Zac, as a son of divorced parents, said the emotion he felt was just as heartfelt as Durette's.

Zac brown has a camp for kids, i believe, called southern ground. I never knew he had a camp until a friend told me they worked in the kitchen there.

Wyatt Durette, the writer, was inspired to write "Highway 20 Ride" while driving along Interstate 20 between Atlanta, Georgia and the Georgia/South Carolina state line in Augusta, Georgia to drop off his son, Wyatt IV, so that his mother could pick him up. Durette told Country Weekly magazine that, during one such trip, he began to think about "how his son would perceive him as a father."

This one breaks my heart. I’m in that same situation and travel a lot for work while also going through the divorce process. Yay to military life. But, we do our best to know they are loved. But, the parents struggle at least as much. And don’t always have that support group n

I got so caught up with the battle within, i lost everything outside of it. Sadly, it destroyed what i was fighting for and it didn't help at all with the battle within, other then leaving just my God and me to fight it. Life is what it is.
