Why does the commentator keep saying it's a controversy. No it wasn't, the ref stopped the fight because the fighter fell down twice. The only controversy was Zab's behaviour, but in his defense he had just been knocked out for the first time in his life!!

Not exactly because he fell down. He's supposed to be ready to fight upon standing, regardless if he got up at count of 1 or 9+. He gets no more recovery time or to use the seconds he should have used staying down. Fight will restart as fast as ref can see boxer is competent to continue, as he should be upon standing. Wobbling across ring, glazed eyes focused on nothing, strange gesturing, & falling on your face is not prepared to continue - fight over. People instinctively want to change the rules & give Judah time to recover because he got up so fast, a 1 punch knockdown, & it's early in the fight.

Unhappy Tim Smith: "Very, very controversial ending" "What about winning in this manner" "Is it satisfying for you to win like this" Tszyu knocks a guy on his ass & when he gets up & is supposed to be ready to go, wobbles across ring, glazed eyes, & falls on his face. Oh yes, I'm sure Tszyu is sad & guilt ridden.

In the mold of Muhammad Ali, Zeb showed himself here to be just another Street Punk with an Overblown Ego and a Big Mouth. His behavior after the fight was downright mentally ill and shows how Sick Zeb was even before he started Boxing. However, naive and gullible fight fans are SUCKERS for Big Mouth Narcissists like Zeb, Roy Jones Jr, and Hector Camacho. Boxers like these are mentally ill people who just happen to have some Boxing Skills. They don't win solely through their Boxing Skills but by inflicting their own Mental Illness upon their opponent by Psyching them out.

it's actually so funny it's definitely 1 of the wildest things I've seen, but Mike Tyson is Champ until someone bites a Nose off or goes well bananas? Mayweather/Ortiz was funny too.
Judah was supposed to be the next big thing in boxing. Showtime was absurdly billing him as a Pernell Whitaker with power. Despite his enormous talents, he had never been in the ring with a fighter of Tszyu’s caliber. This was one of the biggest, most anticipated fights of the early 21st century - a boxing fan's dream. Tszyu was the puncher on the wrong side of 30, and Zab was the young next best thing. Early in the first round, Tszyu was adjusting to Judah’s speed, but by the end of the first and throughout the second round, he was already timing Judah pulling back and closing the distance. It was a fabulous stoppage by Jay Nady. Judah would not have survived the third round, as his durability was always a hindrance in his career. Tszyu was composed and never lost control - a masterclass performance from a great fighter approaching the twilight of his career. As for Zab, he never felt the same after this loss or fully regained the allure that followed him as an undefeated fighter.
@peaceseeker9927
Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Only a dunce would think Zab was at the level of a Pernell Whitaker. Zab fought like an amateur here, retreating backwards so much, and with his hands down, allowing Tszyu to dial him in for the kill. and he showed child like judgment hopping back up after being so badly stunned. The ref had no sane choice but to stop it immediately because Zab was unable to take the count after helplessly falling right on his face.

When asked if he would give Zab Judah a rematch, Kastya reminded him: "Remember what he (Zab Judah) said in the press conference when asked the same question, 'Winner takes all!'... Well, I answer the same way - it's a boomerang." Man, that was such a great quote.
The only controversy, was Judah going after the ref.
Judah would've gone down a 3rd time if the ref wasn't holding his arms. A right stoppage
@chicagomike4587

YES! And he is supposed to go on with a guy like Kostya Tszyu? He could get killed. The fight was over anyway with a few seconds left in round 1. Kostya drilled Zab (hard to see) and if anybody doesn't believe me then simply watch round 2 - Zab runs (pretends not to) and barely throws a punch at Kostya the entire f-ing round. Kostya had hurt him, negated his jab, put him under pressure constantly and was going to break him down - the KO was mercy.

Showtime interviewer looked so pissed while interviewing the referee that he starts asking some nonsense questions 😆 🤣
The sensational adjustment Tsyzu made between the first and second round, is the highpoint of his career. Remember, Tyson hit Berbick who went down (3) times from the same blow - the fight was instantly stopped. Had Zab been allowed out for another round, he would have been really injured. Zab had a glaring weakness - right hands from strange angles. Carlos Baldomir with a fraction of Tsyzu's power almost Kayoed Zab, too with a two rights from crazy angles and Kosta's ability to suddenly throw pinpoint straight rights from any angle - likewise, Zab just couldn't take it. Zab in retirement is a hell of a cool guy. Loved his "pull-up" where he scared the hell out of a mouthy tailor.
Zab has great KO’d footwork. Looks like a good call to me.
the ref jay nady stone fkn cold and sharp as a tack in his post fight interview. respect.
Both fighters were great boxers. Tszyu was on another level for a long time, one of those guys who the casual fan doesn’t really know, in todays fight game he would be a world champion
The fight's ending was not "contraversial" Zab was a legend in his own lunch-break
Gave em the stanky leg and was dancin. Good call from the ref saved him from getting severely injured.
Tszyu found his range at about two minutes left in the second round. From there it was a matter of time.
There was no controversy in the fight, the only controversy is the pride of judah who cant accept defeat.
Judah did the peripheral neuropathy moonwalk. Loss of equilibrium.
Koysta was brilliant in his prime
When I watched this live back in the day through my young eyes, I thought Jab convincingly won the first round. And he did, but what I didn't see is Tzyu was stalking him the whole entire time, yeah he ate a shot or two, but he had his range set at times in the first. Tzyu was tagging him good in the 2nd round, the entire 2nd round and I dont see how a young Zab could have beat this man, because mentally Zab wouldn't have figured him out. Thats actually been Zabs Achilles heel, just mentally he goes off to Narnia. Always has heart but yeah great short fight

He did not regain his composition... that is a blatant lie... and his legs are not to be addressed as some separate issue! A hit that results in the chicken dance shows serious harm has occurred to the brain... and why the legs are now useless. However temporary that is, it is danger zone for the fighter... another hit and you are permanently damaged.
When a fighter loses control of his legs like this and falls right on his face while the ref is attempting to give him the count, the ref should immediately stop the fight, and only a fool would think otherwise. Zab fought amateurishly here with predictable movements keeping his hands low and retreating too much. Tsyzu apparently stunned him with the first right hand that landed right before he hit him with the KO punch. He never had the ring IQ of a Pernell Whitaker, so the comparison is a bit insulting.

It was the end of the round and he couldve let zab continue
The ref was right in the man’s face, starting to count Zab didn’t have enough control over his body. What else was the ref post to do?😂
Zab was running too much, trying to win the fight with only his speed.

He tried to throw jabs but the long range of Tszyus opposing lead hand stopped him from trying to land it. He found openings in the defense of Judah with over the top feints and he forced Judah into vulnerable positions. Judah tried to slip most punches and stay off the ropes but he couldn't throw back cos of the opposing lead hand.
"hOW DO YOU FIND YOUR RANGE AGAINST jUDAh?" 10 seconds later......
BEST CHICKEN DANCER OF ALL TIMES .
Zab's game plan = run most of the round, gain a quick flurry at the end of the round to steal it. Then we all know what happened......

How do you run in a boxing ring? Running would be him jumping the ropes and running back to the locker room. Yall act like both men is supposed to stand in one spot and slug each other to death. Shut up!

@@TimothySlickback some people are dumb. They forget Zab tried to fire his jab but the long arms of Kostya kept him at bay. He was threatening over the top, stopping Judah from landing. He did his best to stay off the ropes by pivoting and trying to throw his jab, but it was blocked by the stiff arms of Kostya. There's a whole film study on it. Whenever someone boxes, I swear they always claim they run. It's pathetic.
Looked like if the Ref didn’t grab his gloves Zab would have fallen a third time
Jay nady Is very professional keeping it real
They always edit out Zab throwing the stool, why?
I remember this like it was yesterday. Judah take your loss like a man.
I can't just help but laugh at the chicken dance in the middle of the ring🤣😂, it's my first time seeing this 😁
They forgot to add. No 70´s disco dance allowed during fight. You can even clearly see that Judah is asking the ref for a drink before he sways away on the dancefloor.
Man, the other guy is so much cooler than this Judah joke

You must be a joke to call Judah one. His reaction after the lost is one thing but to act like he was not a formidable opponent is just stupid. He made a mistake and took his opponent lightly and it cost him!
Zab never learned patience, control or discipline. Now no one will ever know how great he could have been.

I fully agreed with the stoppage...his brain 🧠 was rattled & he he fell down again. If the ref didn't stop the fight,he would have been severely hurt.

this is the right stop from any boxing point of view, the medical guy was defeated and Tszyu, possessing punch could subsequently cause irreparable damage to the young man
Totally justified in stopping it. His legs were like jelly. Kostya might have put him in a coma if allowed to continue. Hope Zab saw the fight back and really should have apologised to the ref. Even thanked him!
Even if Judah hadn't been waved off at the end of the 2nd, he'd have gotten knocked out sometime after that. Tsyzu was in total control in the 2nd round. He was a cobra just ready to strike.

When you get lulled into a trap you never saw it coming till the trap gets sprung after that its too late and all you can do is except you got kilt all the crying wont do nothing except bring the predTors all in for a morsel of their own .should have just been a man who took a loss like he should have and the entire world knows the truth!!!
In Australia till this day we still have kids and some adults rocking the Kostya hair do/Rats tail..
I remember like it was yesterday…🤗🇦🇺🤗

This was a huuuge fight back in the day. So much pressure.
Zero controversy! Zab got ktfo.
refere is a good decision to stop the fight because the zab judah is knock out and dancing on the floor.i am proud of the refere for the humbleness calm and good attitude event he hurt.God bless you refere nice decision.
