Yall keep running the vette against more horse power put 850hp in the vette then nothing will keep up with it well more hp but the vette takes off launch so 850hp it will take a beast to take it down

Brooke had crazy fast reaction times (almost guessing tbh) at (0.80) and the other dude has crazy slow reaction times (.500). So more of a driver thing than a car thing

Talk about bang for buck. That C8 is impressive. Might be home for dinner a little sooner with the Pista, but you'll be able to afford more groceries with the C8. Or get three C8's.

Only going to add more weight to a rather heavy sports car what a noob, typical noob, if Chevy is serious about competing with Mclaren or Ferrari or Porsche gotta get Vette weight down to 3200 minimum, LT is 2800 and some change with carbon fiber tub, vette is a super fun car not a super car learn the difference

A lot of these guys aren’t super-familiar with how these timing systems work. Brooks has had a lot of exposure to these systems. Experienced Sportsmen class competitors (NHRA) can consistently turn .020-ish reaction times.

@@alanmay7929 - Well they could do that, or you can read the time slips to see exactly how each car performed. These cars were consistent. The Vette pulled the Pista by almost .1 to 60-ft., the Ferrari had pulled even at 330, and steadily pulled ahead for the remainder of the quarter, finishing .4 seconds ahead with a trap speed of almost 10 mph faster. A change in drivers wouldn’t change the results, as those times are independent of driver’s reaction time, and both vehicles run an automated launch-control that is stab-and-go.

I really think that the Z06 is a master piece . The best corvette ever built. The Z06 and the pista has been designed for a minimum weight . In this case 160 to 200 hp gap can make the difference. Thnak you for these great drag races.

@@rustler08 People keep saying this, but the Corvette is not that heavy. A base model Porsche 911 Carrera coupe weighs 3354 pounds. The C8 Z06 weighs 3500 pounds. When you consider the Corvette has a much larger and MUCH more powerful engine, it seems the Porsche is the one that is overweight.

@@vinnyteen11 I know Porsche underrates their power and outperforms their numbers, but the official 0-60 (by a long shot) and 1/4 mile on the Vette is faster than the base 911, according to Car & Driver. Color me shocked that CarWow has a European car beating an American car. Lemme guess, probably didn't have the Z51 package on the Vette or were driving the convertible or something like that? Always something with them. But my point is about the curb weight. So do you think the 911 is too heavy?

Back in 2012 my 2010 C6 Z0 ran 11.8@123 stock on a cool 73 degree day. With Drs out back it ran 11.46@125 same day, 1/2 tank less fuel, thats 50 lbs less. With just a moderate stg2 cam, light flywheel/clutch, gmm race shifter, light battery and variram straight-in intake, it ran 10.8 at 128. Then in 2013 my 2009 ZR1 stock ran 11.5@126.8... On Drs it ran 11.1@127... on slicks and my old variram and light batt, 10.65@128.9. It was tuned with long tubes only and variram, it was estimated at 680 hp crank and with 1/4 -1/2 tank weighed 3229 lbs. My C6 Z0 base, stock with 3/4 full fuel was 3065 lbs.

The C8 Z0 just seems to havetbe grip for better 0-60 and launching vs stick tire old ZR or Z0.

That pista seems really slow for an 850 hp one an f8 tributo did 9.8 seconds at 142 mph so a pista should be able to do a 9.7 at 145 mph or even a 9.6 which is really good for a rwd car I like the z06 but in reality even a stock one beats it badly in a straight line

The Pista is harder to launch than an F8, much harder in fact. This is down to the stiffer suspension and more aggressive ESC system. The way the TC acts and how the Pista and F8 launches are totally different. But yes, that does not look like an 850 hp car. I'm guessing yet another "tuner" is making B.S claims on his inertia dyno using STD correction.

I’d like to see a drag race between those 2 but stock.

The Pista made the C8 look like it was standing still - not even close!!!

For two track cars, both the Z06 and Pista did an amazing job, and I wonder if the Z07 would’ve done even better with its Cup 2 Rs and carbon fiber wheels. The Z07 absolutely smashed the Pista’s lap time at Magny-Cours a couple weeks ago, though. That’s where the Corvette is absolutely monstrous at.

The Z07 is draggier, so that would hurt the top of the quarter. If you throw light wheels and Cup 2R’s on the Z06, I’d think it would be faster in the quarter …

Can I just point out that the lap time was not exactly smashed? 1:16.06 vs 1:15.23. I would also like to point out that the Pista ran on Cup 2's with alloy wheels while the Z07 ran on CF wheels with Cup 2R's. The Z07 is a great performer for what it is, no arguing that. Just getting things in order.

I wonder how the ZR1 version will perform. I bet it will dominate all with hybrid tech all wheel drive with high power motors driving front wheels and the powerful engine driving the rear with electronic control, it will be amazing!!!

I recently saw another video with a ZO6 that ran a 9.9. It had drag slicks and skinny front tires. Amazing!!!

Exactly bro I think it's just an aftermarket exhaust with no tune I have seen a pista do 10.1 at 142 but this one traps like 137 which is 5 miles slow which is crazy for an 850 car

Modified forced induction car gets heat soaked easy in so Flo.

Looks like the Z06 needs NOS starting at 3rd gear.

Need to set up some runs with Brooks, when he gets his Z against the record holder WFarmer Z who has ran 10.1s down to 9.9s and Jesse Iwuji who has ran some 10.4s at a neutral track. This would be a great showdown.

Nothing against drag racing, but these cars are so much more dynamic that drag racers and are not intended for drag racing. Let’s see them battle it out on a road course where they were meant to be raced.

I personally don't think there is much left on the table with the C8Z, but with the TT's being added on the ZR1, it will be nasty! And the Zora having the ZR1 TT engine AND the E Ray front electric motors, that should really put the rest of the world on notice!

The spec on that Pista, with the deep green, red stripes and bronze wheels is about as perfect as you can get.

The Pista is just out for Pizza awhile the Z0 is running a sprint to catch up, lol. Only 4-6 mph quicker than my old stock LS7 Z06 was, and those were manual trans only until the C7 Z0 came in 2015. All 427 LS7 veicles were manual only.

If your main use is drag strip go with Demon 170 for less money and bloor the doors of Pista and everything else. Almost no one buys Pista for 1/4 mile use.

LMAO, please show me where I can get a $110k Z06. That Z06 won't exist for the next two to three years, it's a $200-250k car right now. Also, it's about $150k for a C8Z like you're seeing here, which is 1/2 the cost.

@@markw9512 for me, the vette is too raspy if you know what I mean, also I feel that is not an indicative video for the 458 Look up other modded exhaust 458 and compare them to z06 with exhaust to avoid any restrictions affecting the exhaust sound But yes subjective Also the 458 revs to 9k and the vette revs to 8700

@toppdogg2k17 Not pointless. There's data points that can be picked up by running it. For instance, the vette launches better to the 60 foot. It really doesn't matter who you race against, win or lose, it's the passion of racing and trying to improve. (For those who want to improve)

Even with that guy sleeping at the start, the Pista still kills the Z06 everytime. Just imagine if the drivers were exchanged..utter annihilation..

The initial launch Z06 always have advantage because it's like 911 it's weight distribution more rear engine like than mid engine like hence it gets great acceleration but suffers in some other areas because of that

Chevrolet definately entered the rear engine big league with the C8. Hope they will add a monstruous +1000hp (hybrid ?) twin turbo ZR1 to tease the SF90 and the Revuelto. -- a drag between the 720s and the new 750s would be very nice to see.

I apologize if this is a stupid question. Can anyone tell me what wheels are on the Z06? I don't know enough to know if they are a stock wheel or aftermarket. Thanks in advance.

2.6 to 60 is really fast for stock . If F was stock I think zo6 would be very close

Brooks do you have the upcoming twin turbo ZR-1 on order yet? And are you going to order the even faster hybrid Zora? Rumors are the ZR-1 will have over 950 hp on pump gas with no mods at all, and the Zora will have 1250 hp stock with no mods at all and with AWD also...any thoughts? I could see you easily in a Zora with full bolt on mods, running race gas with a race gas tune, methane injection, and an ice box, strengthened tranmission, straight piped, upgraded PUR turbo's and camshafts, etc..which would probably take it to around 2,000HP ....

So, the Pizza cost $300,000 more than the Z06 and you were a couple of tenths off his time. No carbon fiber trash wheels or sticky tires. I'd say you did very well. A little small 50 shot of Nitrous and a tune, you got him. AND ya got 300K still in the bank. 🌟

A 50 shot? Did you watch the same video as the rest of us? That Pista was freight training that Z06 once off the line.

Launching the ZO6 with 68 miles is really smart. Good job breaking it in.

That Ferrari driver has the world's slowest reactions! Still, the Pista is insanely fast. Be good to see it up against a 675LT. Sound award definitely goes to the Vette.

I dont understand how anyone can compare the looks of the corvette with any ferrari. Corvette looks like someone from highschool went a bit too far with a ruler. My god, those edges are like the boxy shape of an escalade.

Corvette ZR1 and Zora coming soon! ZR1 will have a superchager on the Z06 engine. Zora adds a electric motor on top of the ZR1 setup. From Car and Driver "The ZR1 will strap a pair of turbochargers to the flat-plane-crank, 5.5-liter V-8 engine found in the Z06, where it produces 670 hp. The addition of forced induction should push the ZR1's horsepower output to over 800 ponies." "We estimate that the 2025 Corvette ZR1 will start around the $150,000 mark when it reaches dealerships."

Yeah not even close, its a driver difference. When you do these videos it would be really interesting to see what happens if you do the same race again but switch the driver. (probably not realistic though unless the other guy is ur friend is it)
