@@JAYEDHHP, though the C8 has a lot less horsepower than the Hellcat (490 or 495 vs. 717), it's still substantially faster to 60, and faster in the 1/4 mile. Similarly, the Z06 (670 hp) is expected to be faster to 60 than the Hellcat Redeye (797) or the Hellcat Super Stock (807).

Or put some turns on a track. That is what the Z06 is built for. That Dodge will handle about as well as the local UPS truck.

Is he racing that Z06 before the 500 miles break-in period? He is not getting full potential.. Chevrolet did that to all C8's where it's sort of detuned before 500 miles.. full potential is after 500 miles.

So are Hellcats. I own 3 hellcats vehicles and i order them far away so i can get those miles on very quickly when i get it. Redeye chargers destroy the Z06. They catch quickly and pass. We’ve raced them many times on back country roads.

@@meatball6930 The Hellcats do ok on a prepped surface with lowered pressures, etc... At a stoplight on a 70 degree day, they don't hook up and a bone stock base model C8 destroys them off the line...

@meatball6930 the top end on the hellcats is just stupid. I had one and it was endless power. It just sucked on the streets with no grip under like 80mph. Although 4 doors and a big ass trunk was very nice.

Both are dream cars. Beautiful.

This is what I like to see, real car guys having fun with their cars while respecting the other car. When it comes to racing, it doesn't matter if you are dropping nasty times in an old hatch Civic or one of these brutes... fast is fast.

Cool video. I own both, my '23 Z06 is a 3LZ htc in rapid blue with tension blue guts, carbon ceramic brakes and other goodies. My '21 Charger Redeye is indigo blue with black interior and awe exhaust. My Z06 is faster on the streets in all situations, I've never had both at the track though. Charger manages to be a bit more comfortable and also more scary at the same time. The Z06 top down is one of the most amazing cars period. The only other htc cars under a million is certain Ferrari and McLaren models.

You have a fast car. Yeah the Z06 is fast but for the size and weight disadvantage you have, you were able to stick close to the Corvette. I have a Corvette and I am a fan of them but I gotta give your car some credit. If I was the Z06 owner, I would be happy with the wins but it would disturb me that my Z06 is not literally blowing your car away. Good rave.

I remember racing this 670hp C8 in my 392. I had taking off first and left him back there bout 8car length , he couldn't pass the tight cars like I did so he took shoulder then he was coming back for me I'm like no way lol he's top end was crazy 😂

Stock Redeye is a full second slower in the quarter, not a tenth, a full second. Those are published facts. If you wanna test that, come to KY, we will race...

the c8 on street tires. No way you would beat him on radials. Having said that, you had a better 60ft, better 1/8 better 1/4, better mph in the 1/4. That 1 mph in the 1/8th was too much to overcome. This is why I love drag racing. Paper says you should have e won. It’s also a great example of why dyno numbers don’t matter.

I have a Z06 I do NOT have a Hellcat but I have nothing negative to say about them, they are both beautiful rides. Im all about this race too. Hellcat is a purpose built Drag car and is a straight line beast. the Z06 is a purpose built track car, the C8 is also NA so this was impressive and fun to watch.

You get full output just like a hellcat under 500 miles. It's just certain modes like line lock, and launch modes aren't available until after 500.

Good race on both cars. American muscle doing what they are known for, war with each other and we are lucky to still see it happen the naturally aspirated way and supercharged way. Soon it will be electric drag race for new sports cars. Enjoy while we still can. Let the American muscle car wars rage and have fun watching and experience them.

I love a Dodge Challenger & Charger, but those new Z06’s are no joke. Rumor mill is GM is going to bump up the Z06 to almost 900hp-naturally aspirated. Both of these cars are awesome. Long live FOSSIL FUELS!!

As an old 60's muscle car guy, I love seeing these modern beast run. Ur doing a great job with ur channel. Back n '66-'67 there was a stock '66 427/425 4spd Vette Coupe that owner would bet/place a $50 bill on passenger dashboard. As the Vette launched, passenger would try to reach forward to grab the bill; about the time passenger would get close to the bill, owner snatched another gear which threw passenger backwards again. Passenger never got the $50 bill; instead had to pay the owner $50. Don't think dragstrip would allow this, but if possible, try a passenger and place a $50 bill on dashboard test/bet with 1 of these monster cars. See if he can reach forward at launch and grab the bill, and as car goes through the gears. Road/street will likely b best place to try this. B sure to put a camera n back/side to observe passenger reaching for the $50 bill. It'll b fun & interesting to see what happens.

@@evorider3689 Even the sting ray is fast people just like to try belittling the vet must me jealous or just plain ignorant to say a Z06 is slow. Its the fastest affordable American made sports car- supercar period. Not only in a straight line but around the road corse back roads does everything specially well. Very reliable compared to other supercars or sports cars its a home run for GM. Won at le mans again in 2023 5 times now vets won. Corvette has a very strong racing history best bang for the buck period.

Both of y'all are 8 speed auto's, but the way the Vette is geared is what gets you. Can't do much about it other than hope to get a jump on it & stay ahead of the power curve. Nice races though. keep it up, have fun & stay safe!

Yeah, it's gonna be a little faster, but it is not gonna be naturally aspirated or that flat plane crank. Engineers at the Corvette Museum bash confirmed to me today that it will not be a flat plane crank like the Z06. So, that's the only game in town for that sound and response. I would not pay more for a standard C8 with a supercharger/turbo. You can build them WAY cheaper than the price difference. I think it's a mistake by GM personally, to lose that Z06 character in the ZR1, but like I said, I'm sure it will be a faster and to some, that's enough

Both beautiful cars

Very equal in performance, done 2 different ways. One relies on top end power; the other, brutal lower-rpm torque. I owned a HC Redeye Charger WB for 2 years and indeed, from 4th gear on where tire spin is no longer a factor, it's an absolute beast as the video shows. But it's also a beast to launch on the stock 305 rubber. The Z06 by its design is much better balanced and along with its 1000 pound weight advantage, just plain boogies out of the gate. I love 'em both, and I thoroughly enjoyed the narration in this video. Fair and balanced, as they say.

More of this. That was fun and you were pretty humble, so made it nice to watch. It would be nice to see the Z06 with drag radials or even an LMR tune to put it at the same HP as the hellcat. Then, you have a real race. That Z06 at the same HP as the Hellcat, can run low 10's, maybe high 9's if I remember correctly. Both cars are real life beasts, so no hating anywhere.
