Still rocking and loving my Z Fold 5. I appreciate the narrow outer screen for normal phone stuff (texting, scrolling through my feed etc). The main, inner, screen is where the Fold shines. I think most people complaining don't have the phone and/or are parroting KZread reviewers. As someone who has used the 5 since launch, I think the outer screen is fine. I'd like an internal S Pen and a better zoom, but beyond that, I'm satisfied, and yes, I own the Fold 5 and have used it daily since launch, if I didn't mention that more than a few times 😂😅

Been back to the S24 Ultra now for a couple of weeks and honestly as much as I hate to admit it I do miss the Zfold5 more than I thought I would. I did like the narrower screen as it's way more comfortable to hold and use. I still hold out for S Pen functionality on the outer screen however. That is the single feature that I would definitely switch back to the fold for. I'm not a gamer or much of a picture/video person so the new Pixel Fold looks enticing as well.

Had the fold 3,4 and 5 since launch and do not like the outer screen at all. If they don't fix it for the 6 I will not buy another one. I do go back and forth between the fold 5 and S23/24 ultras which helps lol. The cameras also definitely need a big update glad you mentioned that

I just traded in my Zfold5 for the S24 Ultra. The only thing that would convince me to come back to the Zfold6 would be if they add the S Pen functionality to the outer screen. That one change, at least for me would change my mind about the Fold. I do miss the added multitasking capability but I also now own a Tab S9. I'm not a person that takes a lot of pictures or uses the AI at all. I do however use the S Pen for almost everything.

I exchanged the Samsung Fold³ for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. In my opinion, the Fold phone's front screen should be widened, and the battery life should be improved.

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is going to be released globally this year, is Samsung doesn't make the necessary changes to the Fold 6 I'll be converting to the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4. Better camera etc... What you think or your not interested/no research into it at all?

Personally, what Samsung needs to do is give the Z series the 108mp main sensor from the S22 Ultra. That sensor with the 8 Gen 2, or now Gen 3, would have been gold. Also, Samsung should have went the OnePlus route and added a 3x periscope telephoto zoom lens that can do a 6x hybrid zoom, which may let them go to 50x space zoom. The ultra wide I don't care bout much. They can make the Z Fold series the home to that 108mp main and 3x periscope telephoto lens. The standard galaxy s line needs to bump things up to 4x telephoto zoom instead of 3x. Also, bump the battery up to at least 4700 or 4800mah. But TechOddysey, I agree they need to put a digitizer on the cover screen if the screen size will remain unchanged. It's not huge changes but some important ones that will make consumers happy. Give the people what they want within 2 generations of tech, not 4 or 5. Samsung is the leader of innovation, not the leader of copying Apple. They gotta get it together

If there isn't a change I'll go for the honor. Samsung forgets that some people don't purchase a tablet because a fordable phone will be the 2 in one. It's ok to not open the phone often... Just as often as you would use a tablet.

I love your front screen digitizer take. I have the Fold 3 from launch and a previous note user. I have refused to upgrade because all the reiterations have been so underwhelming. A wider screen and a front screen digitizer would definetly be a good reason to upgrade. What is your take on rumors of a Fold Ultra? If I were to guess, a ultra may be launched in September or after the iPhone launch cycle in early fall.

Hopefully they drop a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra model and then we can get the best of every world 🌎

The fold is supposed to be an ULTRA. Comments like this gives Samsung incentive to charge us another $400 just to do what they are supposed to do. An S pen, s24 cameras, front screen s pen functionality

I wish they had gone with one of the prototypes they try out in the final designed.

Samsung needs to simply make a foldable version of the S24. Plain and simple.

I have to agree with what has been said in the video. I have had the Fold 3, 4, and now 5. I love the phone and using it, but it needs a refresh. I'll pass on the 6 this time if it's the same old. A waste of money to upgrade. Other than the phone being lighter, which I like, the 5 is basically the same phone as the 4.

I have the S21 ultra still working fine the battery life is started to drop so new phone is on the horizon. I really want the fold but if it does not have upgraded cameras and the S pen built in then it will be the 24 ultra for me.

I guess you are right in many points. There is no room for the bigger cameras and regarding the front screen they focus on the size of the internal screen; they dont want the internal screen to be too big, so you can still easily hold it with one hand and use the spen with the other. In my opinion and would make sense, if Samsung would communicate this to the community instead of them hoping for changes in there regards each year.

YES all day my only gripe is s pen front screen and on board storage! I actually ended up liking the front screen size! You don't know till you know!

Samsung does have an S-Pen with all the Bluetooth gestures for the Z Fold. It is called the S-Pen Pro and can also be used with other Galaxy products like the Tab or S series phones with the flip of a button. It is longer and doesn't fit in a case.

Zfold needs more power and pen if going pretend be tablet, and much much better durability if you want charge premium price

I feel like we need the ultra fold 6 w the same aspect ratio and design elements of the Honor Magic V2 RSR Porsche edition, Huawei Mate X5 foldable, and Vivo fold 3 variations. I told everyone at SAMSUNG to make 2 foldables like the ultra with everything included and stylus in the box. They should also study the one plus open. Also they have to do is study the hardware on software Samsung is a beast

Forget the megapixels for rn samsung. Give us faster charging speeds. I heard thier still doing 45w in 2025. For thier latest models. Put the higher number where it needs to be samsung please. This is someone that owns the s24 plus and the s23 plus from last year which i cant complain because its a nice improvement.

Fold look like a skinny remote while the Open with it's IR blaster actually can be used like a remote. (Such an underrated feature) I was on Fold 2 and had planned to but the fold 5 but it felt like the same phone with just minor improvements. And then the Open came and fixed all the things I didn't like with my Fold 2. I really hope Fold 6 will rock an integrated S-pen, IR blaster (seams unlikely but not sure if I can live without it now, I don't know where the remote for my projector, tv, AC is anymore 🤣😂), an outer screen that can be used as a normal phone, as light or lighter than the open, and multitasking more similar to the open. Than I might consider upgrading, but I'm curious what Google and oneplus will come out with in a few months

Im tired of samsung acting like apple. For at least a decade, apple has had an obsession with making things thinner in an attempt to make it look good instead of adding practical features. This is how you get macbooks with faulty butterfly keys, terrible battery life, horrible heat management, less ports, and smaller life span. Theyd rather your device look good and overheat while being silent instead of doing the right thing. Samsung has adopted this. They create a a phone/tablet and opt for making it smaller every year instead of improving camera, including s pen in phone, increasing battery size, or widening the front display. Its so sad. Glad other phones exist.

My Z Fold 5 front screen is very usable. I'm using it right now. Not everything needs to be big.

I jumped over to the oneplus open. Love it. Far better than my z fold 5 in every way except missing my s pen a little. Besides that, it does everything i need equal or better.

I actually like the outer screen on my Fold 5, I use it just as much as the inner main screen.

samsung we need some changes on the fold 6

In all honesty, if it was bigger, the phone would be very heavy. That's one issue. The second would be the hinge. The third it may be awkward to handle ✋️. I could be wrong 😅 but on the size only, that's only my thoughts. 😶‍🌫️

I switched from the Apple ecosystem to the Z Fold 5 two months ago. Contrary to some opinions, I prefer the smaller front screen size; it feels more secure in my hand compared to my previous 15 Pro Max. The form factor appeals to me much more than that of the Pixel Fold. I'm not overly concerned with camera quality. In my opinion, the Fold 5 is the most premium phone/tablet available. My sole request would be for internal storage for the S Pen, which would support my unique use case during travel. I really enjoy the choices in the Android world, with all the new foldables everyone should be able to find the right fit.

I've been waiting for a z fold without any crease at all and I got the regular s24 in 256gb and I absolutely love it but the kind of money for the fold and it still has a crease on number 6 is kind of insane also I'm Canadian so that's basically 3 grand cad for a crease screen lol no thanks

I'm going to pass on the Galaxy fold 6.. Samsung executives had a big meeting and it was not good there was a lot of yelling they're falling behind the mark..

I'm still on the 3 so anything above the 5 is a big change.

I was hoping the Pixel Fold would have had much better reviews. But it has not. Seems everyone hates the thing even though I think it's design is very nice.

Its really annoying that yters keep insisting that samsung is wrong when theyre right. Everyone else has an ugly square device that defeats the whole purpose of foldables (giving you a compact device)

Check this out Adam. It's all an optical illusion. They are squaring off the corners. If you look at the z fold 4 and 5, you see the screen itself is rounded in the corners that actually takes up a little screen space. Just imagine those corners all the way extended in just the corners and you will get this square that makes it seem like there's a bigger screen when it really is the same screen with squared corners. Same frame, same screen, just pushed out in the corners. So basically we getting the same device again with an optical trick to fool us. I know it sounds crazy but just check it out and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Welp skipping another z fold for another year. Guess I'll get the oneplus open or pixel fold afterall.

I am not bothered in the least by Samsung retaining the same screen dimensions, but I agree with you that a phone that is nearly $2,000 should have the best cameras available.

I have z fold 4, updated software and wifi disabled, as well it happened to alot of other people, not buying another fold, ill get next oneplus open

@TechOdyssey It would be excellent if you could find a solution. Other people on forums were also reporting the loss of Bluetooth functionality after the February 24th update (UK). I had hoped that the subsequent update would resolve this issue, but unfortunately, it did not. The only solution I found was to flash (Odin) the last working firmware from Sammobile and hope that the latest update would work. However, this carries some risks.

When i see fold its like my Nokia e90….bad that e90 cant do what fold can 😂

Exactly no reason to buy a foldable if u just want to use the outside screen. Makes no sense.

My outer display on the oneplus open is used throughout the day. I dont get the annoyance of typing on a smaller screen, save battery by avoiding the inner display and once i get home, its open season. Also when im reading, obviously its open for a book like experience. Having a great front screen is amazing.

Pixel's outer display is actually perfect. Samsung's outer display is just too unusable. An aspect ratio similar to the Xiaomi foldable, would be more desired, but it seems as though Samsung wants to keep their S series customers and foldable customers, separate.

More megapiksels, more noises it is why iphones got 12 mpx so long.

I have small hands, so I prefer a narrow screen. That's why I prefer the S24 over the larger variants. It's a matter of choice, but I agree that the Fold and the Flip should have flagship cameras.

Samsung sells 3-4 million book folds annually. The Pixel and Open probably haven't even sold 50k combined. When foldable sales were released for '23, those two phones didn't even sell enough to show their market share on the pie graph. One Plus is also pausing the Open for a year. They wouldn't do that if it were "successful" . When the Open and/or Pixel takes a large chunk of Samsung's market, then I will concede they are "so successful". Until then, it just proves what we've already known from seeing apple's sales. Better specs may equal better reviews, but if that doesn't translate to sales, then Samsung has no reason to make drastic changes.

I don't care for the narrow screen, I don't care about cameras whatsoever they can get rid of them completely and I would be happy.

NO SCREEN.. NO buy! I bought all and bought, all others and if the 6 isn't 2 S24 hinged...I out!!!

I have the Flip 5, but curious about the fold 5 as someone who only wants thin phones. The wide phone push is maddening to me, and even crazier here since you HAVE dual formats, one screen for quick and easy interactions and one for when you want to sit down and take in the screen. Oh well lol Agree that at the price cameras should be great and have better pen integration.

No real Exciting Rumors. It's the same Phone. Every single year. If you can get a Z Fold 3 then get it. 2, 3, 4, 5, and now 6 are all the same. The 3 introduced water resistance, 4 was better camera, 5 more durable and better/noticeable cpu which made photos look better, and 6 is just a hair wider but not enough to upgrade. You literally can take a few strings of hair and measure that's how much or how little of width they giving customers. Smh 🤦🏾 . 6 is more rectangular like a S24 Ultra but no upgrades. Not buying another Z Fold phone until it's significantly wider on the front and 6 more hours of battery life. So thicker not thinner. Wider not 58 to 61. You won't notice the width.

Problem is that unless someone else makes a huge splash both hardware AND software wise Samsung will not be pushed to make meaningful updates. The Honor and Oneplus phones made great hardware but software is seen by many as inferior to Samsung's. It would take a company nailing every aspect of a foldable and taking a significant portion of Samsung's sales away for them to stop the long game and just give us the worthwhile upgrades we expect.

This thing is an iPhone. Just keep giving me the same phone with a lot of bullshit
