YUZURU HANYU'S JUMPS: CHILD VS. ADULT

Спорт

Yes I'm aware that Yuzu's 3T and 3S were popped, but I included it anyways just to have an excuse to put more baby Yuzu footage. Here are my thoughts on his jumps.
2A: already doing difficult entries from the womb. A pity he doesn't know how to do a 2A anymore. 4A is fine I guess.
3T: Textbook. 13 year old mushroom head Yuzu was serving textbook jumps. The popped 3T Yuzu did at WTT was honestly the most beautiful 3T I'd ever seen AND it was a pop only legend tingz.
3S+2T: Not used to seeing Yuzu do triple salchows, and honestly I feel like salchows in general are ugly. But 2011 looked really smooth even though it was late in the program. And Yuzu's 4S is something else.
3Lo: His air position in 2009 was snatched. He clearly added much more complex entries into his loop. He never settles. He always tries finding ways to improve his jumps.
3F: Legendary technique corrector. He was literally incapable of an inside edge when he was younger but now he consistently achieves one. Also his flips are gigantic and his toe pick placement is weird with all of the negative pre-rotation. Again he added difficult entries to his flip with the rolling 3 turns.
3F+3T: Again very big jumps when he was younger. I think his flips were larger back then than they are today, so he found a way to make his technique more efficient over time. Again, his edge changed from outside to inside as time went by.
3Lz: Textbook, nothing has changed.
3Lz+2T: Textbook, nothing has changed.
3A: His 3A size never changed. And that isn't a bad thing because it's always been gigantic. Like 2010 Yuzu's 3A can blow all of the current competition out of the water.
3A+2T: Yuzuru's catlike reflexes have always been around since he was young. King of saving jumps that have no right to be saved.
Also, sorry for disappearing off of the face of the earth for the past like 8 months. Got a little lazy, but I hope to be back to regular uploads now that I graduated! Yassss.

I hope people understand that these aren't fair comparisons even after factoring the age. There's a whole level in performing elements as part of a whole and be judged for a lot more, beyond the technical. By right, it should be a comparison of single elements, with no context except for that alone. So it shouldn't be edited from any performance. All comparisons among skaters should be like this if the purpose is to judge on technical performance of an element alone.

I agree. Although Yuzuru is great with and live jumps, audiences will love him no less when he doesn’t jump much, such as in the 2018 Olympic gala. He is the Goat for being great in every aspects. And he is still improving after 2018 when the whole system was working against him. We will not have anyone else even close to his level in the foreseeable future.
