Extra information from Japan: It was really busy day for Yuzuru. He joined the celebration event and visited the education agency to see the minister in the morning, joined two press conferences including this one for an hour each, and visited his sponsor company ANA in the afternoon. He must have been exhausted, but he kept smiling, polite, and answering sincerely. Plus cute! We are really proud of him! He is our national treasure!

I wish he had the privilege to have an interpreter more often, because the way he thinks and answers the questions is amazing, and while speaking in his own language he has the freedom to speak his mind. The way he answered the question about North Korean skaters was absolutely brilliant. He had to be politically correct. I was amazed how quickly he came up with such a brilliant answer while still complementing the skaters themselves.

Yes. I hope the Japanese foreign commission, or whatever they call it, realizes what a remarkable representative they have in Yuzuru. He is the epitome of the excellent character of the Japanese people and has brought in so much interest and love for his country and their culture. His Japanese-ness is something I admire about him. The fact that he isn't trying to be cosmopolitan and adopting "western" mannerisms and attitudes. He is just so elegant and humble.

Yuzuru is so smart and elequent. Sometimes that aspect of him is underapreciated internationally because he's not fluent in english (yet). I hope more international journalists will ask more about his thoughts on the vast development of figure skating in recent years, on how he choose his own music, how his program is created because from some interviews it seems that he's heavily involved in his programs, if he has found a way to improve his training to prevent injuries from all those research he has done while he's off ice, and how his accomplishments can be used to propel more success in fs athletes in asia not just from japan. Ask him more of those kind of questions instead of quads quads quads and his love for winnie the pooh.

I can totally relate to the host when he said “Watching your performance I was struck. And realised oh this is a truth.” And I'm glad that someone feels the same with me coz I think it's strange to feel this way. As in why and how you can see a truth from a person's skating? But the feeling of “seeing truth” is so strong that I can't deny it. This is something that I wouldn't be able to understand before I saw Yuzuru's skating.

Yuzuru's skating has been called beautiful but this is probably the first time it's been compared to the truth. I guess to a journalist, truth is a thing of beauty. Rather funny that the host was so in awe of him, as seen in that intro pointing out how select this group of Olympians to which Yuzuru now belongs is, asking all to stand in tribute, and in his effusive praise of the artistry and athleticism that Yuzuru displays in his skating.

There was one interview I saw where the translator was so bad and left out all the most important things Yuzu was saying in his answers that Yuzu just started doing his own translation. The guy was relieved I think because his English wasn't as good as Yuzu's and he was trying to use Google translate on his phone. It was pretty funny.

Edit: Them standing up to give him A round of apluase for being a two time Winter Olympic Champion. That was heartwarming and well deserved. Edit: Of all the interviews up to this I have watched, Yuzu's opinion to aristry strucked me most "Artistry lies in technique Prowess". It just means how valuable for him as an athlete to challenge himself do clean, textbook techniques while making it beautiful. Edit: I just love how it shows that he lives and breathes Figure Skating when he discussed the technique in Quad Axel. He is admirable and inspiring, Other competitors should take note how he studies human engineering, statistics, and image training in Figure Skating.
