I think he's naturally intelligent. Watch the lecture by Masimilano, a figure skating analyst, who analyses Yuzuru's journey in figure skating as a tribute to Yuzuru. In his explanation, we can see how thoughtful, strategic, and visionary Yuzuru is.

@@aieia3 You can also read his thesis. Yuzu is very intelligent. Also who else can recalculate his entire program mentally in 6 minutes then execute it accordingly? Or half of his program WHILE performing it? He's amazing.
