I can't understand why some got confused between Tendulkar and Kohli. Kohli is one of the greatest while Sachin is the greatest(along with Don Bradman)...And if some argue favouring Kohli over Tendulkar because of his average, then I have some points for you. 1)Learn the difference between the pitches of their respective debut year. One played on highly lethal bowling pitches while other on very flatty batting pitches(majorly, not all bcoz pitches varied highly bcoz of native soil.) 2)Ground length. Tendulkar played when boundaries are longer than the current time. 3)Ground Type. Today if batsman passed the ball from a 30-yard circle fielder then it will very easily reach the boundary. That was not the case in the 90s. I recommend you to watch some old matches. Today grounds are not as straight as previous times. They are slightly leaned towards the boundary. There is an exact word for this, but I don't remember that's why I give such a way of explanation. 4)Bowlers. keep your hand on your heart and answer honestly. Today there are many great bowlers but are they better than Warne, Murli, Mcgrath, Great Curtly Ambrose, Waqar Yunus, Wasim Akram, Brett lee, Courtney Walsh and legendary Alan Donald. I have only picked only a few of them and all the above names are counted among the all-time greatest. 5)Win percentage: Matches win by team not by individuals. Today's Indian team and bowlers are better than their opposites while that was not the same scene during Sachin's time because Australians have the same amount of batting legends as India but frankly bowling unit of India is very good but not comparable to Australians. We have only one name who is counted as the legend and that is Anil Kumble. Others are good but never give a consistent performance for a larger period. 6)Most important point. If there was DRS there was no steve Buckner. Not once, not twice, hell number of times Sachin was wrongly given out by this man. And till I counted just one name, imagine somehow someday others have also given him out wrongly(mistakenly maybe) once or twice or thrice. Imagine his numbers if there is the existence of DRS at that point of time. 7)Now, they together played the ODI together(from 2008 to 2012) and test(from 2011 to 2014). Tally their scores of that period and compare. One is slightly ahead of another. And note that one is young blazing blood at that time and the other is close to 40 and played even after crossing 40. You are aware of Vivian Richards's statement about Virat but do you know that Sir Don Bradman(avg 99.9) himself said I see myself in Sachin. Imagine why young and mighty Sachin in his prime failed to score a double century and able to succeed it when he is close to 38 years. Learn Inflation, guys. Rs 44.8 of 1989 can't be deemed lower than Rs 59.3 of 2008. I love Virat Kohli. Count him as greatest. He deserved it with full respect. But by comparing him with Tendulkar, you are disrespecting that man whom Virat idolizes and whose magnetic charm inspires current breeds like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Cheteswar Pujara. Millions are not fools that they tell him by some term and even his seniors and batting heroes also agreed on that. That term is "God of Cricket".

At that point of time (during 90's our whole batting unit was dependent on sachin only And I nowadays our batting is comparatively better than sachin's time Yes virat is playing with responsibility but we have seen if someday he is not in rhythm then any another batsman like rohit, shikhar are scoring I know what was our reaction when sachin got out So no doubt kohli is one of the greatest batsman but it would be unfair with sachin if any batsman is compared with legend like him And kohli has also said in number of interviews that it doesn't feel good when you compared with whom you have idolised in your younger days So this question make no sense

They are not necessarily “scared” as they have nothing to be scared about. Virat is slightly the better batsman because he achieved so much that Sachin at 31 within 10 years of his career with so many field restrictions. Sachin is GOD for sure but Virat is a better player.

U can't compare players of different eras atleast in odi cricket . Coz batting average of 35 in viv Richards era is equivalent to batting Average of 45 in Tendulkar's era and batting average of 55 in Kohli's era.

Just don't understand why yuvraj doesn't get the praise that Dhoni gets. His contribution to the Indian team was atleast equally important to that of Dhoni's if not more. Sachin Tendulkar is the best batsman in history of cricket next to Bradman. India is lucky to have virat , he is the best contemporary batsman. Sachin faced some great bowlers such as Shane Warne, Murali, McGrath, bretlee, wasim akram, waqar, Shoaib, Allan- Donald, Steyn, Gillespie, Ambrose, Walsh, Ian bishop, Pollock, chaminda vass, imran Khan. Nowadays bowlers are incomparable to above mentioned. Secondly pitches in 90's and early 2000's were unique like newzealand , England were very greeny, Australia was bouncy , srilanka was dry so on. Nowadays pitches are created in favour of batsman all over the world. Sachin had far more pressure then what virat is facing now. Sachin, most of the times was one man army. Sachin also played with some players who were cheating or match fixing. So he had to play against his players indirectly. Nowadays the vigilance is much much more and hence less corruption. So Sachin will always be better than virat.

PLEASE READ COMPLETLY:- Lot of people tell that Virat is a flat track bully .Hence Sachin is the best player . It's okk Sachin is god of cricket but my question is :- When virat started his career everyone said that Virat cannot score 50 tons in odi but now virat is proving himself with already having 43 tons . Now people know that he can beat sachin hence now they are finding new reasons to judge kohli . Guys if virat is a flat track bully then why Players like Williamson ,Root,Smith have lesser Centuries and conversion rates ? ACCORDING TO ME BOTH ARE LEGENDS OF THEIR OWN GENRATION GUYS . SACHIN STARTED HIS CAREER AT 17 BUT VIRAT STARTED AT 21-22 THEN ALSO HE IS MANAGING THE PREASSURE AND OVERTAKING SACHIN. SO BOTH ARE BEST.

Sangakkara to Tendulkar 7. Jaa Kallis to Tendulkar 8. Virat Kohli to Tendulkar Why they all are compared to Sachin Tendulkar ?? Answer - Because Great is always compared to Greatest

Tendulkar is not just a player...he made Cricket...that is why people call him God Of Cricket...no doubt virat is extraordinary player but still there is no comparison with Tendulkar

I just don't think that its fair for Sachin to compare him with any other batsman after all that he has achieved and the conditions where he played and situations when He was the lone batsman to rescue India from a low score
