You can’t change mine either. Most likely they don’t have any kids of their own, as Lilia is far too dedicated to her dancing career to get pregnant, so they might think of him as their own son

If I had a 15 year old son I think I'd be slightly disappointed if they weren't at least slightly bratty or a bit of a punk at times.

Too bad Yuri’s mother didn’t make an appearance in the series. I can see her creating more drama. Maybe at one point they’re arguing and she yells at him “how dare you disrespect me I gave birth to you!”

Excellent!?I thought the same cuz his dynamic with his mom would definitely be the same like Katsuki Bakugou and his mom,Mitsuki cuz both the 15 year old jackass' are foul mouthed and short tempered yet ambitious and secretly a total Tsundere!?!!XD

Same! I love Yurio and I agree his introduction was really good too! Also yes! His character development is so good! And he is actually so talented like wtf! And yes, I just love his additive for some reason hahaha idk

He is my top comfort character and like he is just so precious and I love him so much

Audiences would expect Yurio to skate to Eros instead of Agape not because of its theme, but more because the strong upbeat tune is more fitting of his personality. Agape is too gentle for a kid who yells and kicks the ass of his rivals all the time.

no, you cant hate yurio for the sake of the world. he is the russian fairy!! i’m glad yurio has this bold brat personality or this show would be kinda boring. yurio light up the series not gonna lie. edit : no, he doesn’t just light up the series, he fired up the whole series 🔥

is 'Yuri' a common name in Japan? coz here in Russia it is very common. I have three cousins who are named Yuri.

Oof I can't get over that dub haha. I definitely prefer the Japanese voice actors haha. 😅

I enjoyed hearing your thoughts and it allows me to see a new perspective of yurio, love the analysis!

5:01 There are* a lot of things that Yuri should not have been exposed to and did at this age, tbh 😬😅 Like going to that banquet and getting roped into that dance competition with two drunk adults who not only stripped, but pole-danced in front of him; or Lilia telling him he needs to sell his soul in order to develop a different, more ethereal style of expression and skating to win gold (and him having to respond with, "I'll give you my whole body if it means I can win"-something along those lines; and I know this wasn't sexual, I just think he must've went through a lot in order to respond so maturely and blatantly). And I know she obviously meant well, but who the heck says that to a 15-year-old boy ? But again, in order for him to respond like that and accept these types of inappropriate situations, he must've gone through his fair share crap to put up with that. And I think that's why Otabek says that he has the eyes of a solider; because he can see the sacrifices he'd made and the hardships he'd went through in order to become so talented, just by looking at his eyes.

Yurio and Rin Matsuoka fron Free are the anime characters I relate to the most.

I am also really obsessed with yurio and i ship him with otabek but that isn't really a full character analyse...

This sums up exactly why I love him so much

I agree, but to be more constructive, yeah, I saw little character development in Yurio. "Rude and confrontational" is him at best, but at worst, he's violent verbally and physically for little to no reason, that he makes Kagome from Inuyasha look like a sweetheart in terms of tsundere-ness. And yes, I felt like he got away with his behavior, which is one of my criticism for "Yuri on Ice." (Don't get me wrong, I *adore* the anime and I'm still mad/hurt/outraged that the movie was cancelled after 7 years of waiting.) He has his moments in comic relief, such as when he and Yuuri were on the receiving end of Viktor's savagery, when he called JJ "sh*thead" in the middle of a jump/spin(?), and his interactions with fellow skater Mila. But other than that, his overall behavior throughout the series was not too far from that of a bully, especially in episode 11. Yuuri was already feeling defeated after his short program, but Yurio just kept on acting like a bully, and even after learning that he's actually a fan of Yuuri in ep 12, I wasn't entirely convinced because it comes off as "he's only bullying you bc he likes you" kinda thing. That puts a damper on what is otherwise a great original anime series that had so much potential to expand in storytelling but no thanks to M@pp@ for ruining any chances. Just wanted to give my two cents.
