@@hubriswonk Hey Hubris! Since the Covid hit it actually made a toll to the whole City and band performers so we're prevented to perform like the usual gigs before. Now, we are just occasionally being invited to perform to some events like birthdays or some other occasions. But still with restrictions. Either way, hopefully soon we get to perform like the usual. ❤

My lady was a lead singer in a band in Leyte then COVID hit, we are soon to base ourselves in Cebu and Manila , dam she is good, I mean really good, but not in awful heavy music, and instruments that are to loud an d towering over the singers ..Ray in the UK

Ah a cowboy bar, time for some good old cowboy music. I hope they have both kinds, country and western. But waaah..what is this? Hard rock grunge music? Zombie? Hehe actually I love it and its refreshing to see these young girls rock out. Forget the techno dance music and grab the guitars and drums. I'll take that one on the right and she can play guitar solos for me anytime..

Gio, I agree with you about the mic. Not my music, but it probably sounds better in the club. I danced to a lot of cover bans in my day, because I couldn’t afford to go see the originals. Makes for a good night out. You may have to start banning some of the more vitriolic ranters - ranting against each other on multiple comments didn’t help either one of them make their point.

Around Mindanao I believe.

Check out a place in Davao City called "The V Place" by Ilustre Street. Sometimes good cover bands play there.

It is hard to judge because the mic maybe makes it sound bad. I guess I would go to listen to them if there was not a cover. It also depends on what else there is available. Around my area we have many free concerts playing to a few hundred or more every weekend so a group like this is nothing special. It also depends on the scene, are you with a group of friends or going solo?

@@GiointhePhilippines Oh the toys we buy. lol Sound is not as straight forward as it seems. A lot of design and effort goes into making it sound natural and pleasant.

it would be interesting to know if a band like this can make decent money playing in clubs there. maybe there aren't many of them as I read asians aren't really musically talented.

I was told that most band members make 500 to 700 pesos per gig. So in $$$ that is $10 to $14 for one nights gig. You would have to imagine that they aren't booked 7 nights a week so that is pretty low.

The 1990's called. They want their guitar solos back. I've been a musician all my life. There is nothing more talentless than playing someone else's song note for note. Talent is original material. To a lessor extent, taking someone else's song and changing it or adapting it to a new or different style, takes talent. Cover bands are the most boring forms of live entertainment.

Well millions of people don't find them boring or obviously they wouldn't be playing in thousands of bars all over America and all over the world ,and the reason why they're not boring is because they are trying their best to reproduce songs that were the most popular songs sold in America. Some cover bands do a much better job of that than other ones. there covering songs that sold more records than anybody else's songs . obviously millions and millions of people didn't think they were boring .so the next best thing would be to go listen to Somebody recreate those songs in live situation . Since they cant go see the original artist who wrote the song and pay a bunch of money for a ticket every night .They just settle for a good cover band. There is lots and lots of original songs that are just bad quality and don't have the right hooks, don't have the right sound and they go nowhere. so would you rather listen to that or listen to songs that have been proven to be popular and already sold a lot of singles or albums????
