Biltong is so good, though. I'm Scandinavian and a friend of the family regularly went to South Africa to see relatives and each time before he left, i asked him to bring home whole pieces of Biltong :)

I love how the restaurant owner kinda panicked and stopped them as soon as she realized that Sonny and Andrew actually were going to just straight up eat them alive, thrashing and mad as hell because they thought that was how it was done there xD. The sheer relief on their faces after that was just priceless.

Don't wanna destroy your fantasies but that part was obviously staged. They never intended to eat but only pretended and the women's reaction is more amusement about the act than genuine worries. It wouldn't make any sense either since they are professionals. You just don't eat a living creature yolo. Even if you aren't a professional. Especially in another country.

camerawork is outstanding, great narration, editing is top notch, this channel content is the best for it's kind!!

I absolutely love this show. Sonny is like my generations comedic Anthony Bourdain. Your insightful dialogue and what you gain from your experience with food and culture very much reminds me of him. I'm not crazy about this bug theme they've got going on cuz I usually like to eat my lunch or dinner while watching these.... my chicken fried rice became much less appetizing suddenly lol.

We called the little water centipede a "hellgamite". I used to fish them out from under rocks in the Guadalupe river in center point Texas. The best fishing bait I have ever used in my life. They would attract pretty much every damn fish in the river. Bass, catfish, karp, perch, turtles, you name it. I've never seen them in any video till now over 20 years later.

its actually hellgrammite not hellgamite and its larval form of dobsonfly adult dobsonflies are some of the largest non-Lepidopteran insects that can have wingspan of around 20 cm

Out here in California, we call em pile worms. Helgramites are out here, too but they aren't the same. We use both for bait. Pile worms are good for striped bass in SF Bay. Hellgramites are brown trout candy.

I think that was a direct translation from vietnamese if the person does not know english, so it sounds awkward. The same will happen with "dolphin," as, in vietnamese, dolphin is called cá heo which is terribly translated into "pig fish" (cá == fish, heo == pig).

Where I come from, southern Indiana, those are not called centipedes though they may resemble them, but are known as hellgrammites. They are the larval stage of the dobson fly. They are found under rocks in rivers and we use them as bait. They are the BEST bait to use in the river to catch catfish, perch, smallmouth bass...you name it!
