First time coming across this channel. I love seeing happy families. You can always tell by the kids; they're not afraid to be goofy and be themselves. You''re a good father, sir.
I love salt and vinegar cucumber chips. You're my favorite homesteading family.
WHATS UP MIKE AND FAM? Can you show what the cucumber chips look like after dehydrating??

I was wondering how they turned out too!

Me too! I tried shredding zucchini and dehydrated but they turned brown. Hmmm
I love that all u work together even the kiddos work and have so much respect
she is growing up right before our eyes and a beautiful young lady
I use cucumbers in stir fry and in vegetable soup. For soup, I just freeze seeded cucumber chunks. It's kinda like zucchini.
For the two of us and to give away an overabundance, we only need about 3 cucumber plants, two okra plants, three 5 foot rows of successively planted green beans, about 6 tomatoes, etc. Successive planting is the best way to not let the crops get away from us and have less to go in the composter. Glad you guys are feeling better. Lacey looks FABULOUS!

FYI : Those large yellow cucumbers are great for making German Mustard Pickles called " Senfgurken ". I miss them, they were outstanding.

I would love your recipe please

@@sissysimpson792 Note: You can cut into sticks or chunks: The old yellow cucumbers are better for this recipe and that makes it great when your stock gets out of hand and goes yellow before you use them for other pickle recipes. They should be pealed, seeded, and clear water washed. German Mustard Pickles (Senfgurken) Makes 2 to 3 quarts. • For the Pickles: • 4 1/2 pounds pickling cucumbers or English cucumbers • 1 onion, sliced • Fresh dill weed sprigs • For the Brine: • 2 cups white-wine vinegar • 2 cups water • 2 1/2 cups sugar • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard seed • 6 juniper berries • 1/2 teaspoon whole coriander • 1/2 teaspoon whole black peppercorns • 1/4 teaspoon whole caraway • 1/4 teaspoon whole dill seed • 1/2 teaspoon whole allspice • 1 crumbled bay leaf • 4 whole cloves • 1/8 teaspoon powdered ginger • 2 tablespoons salt How to Make It 1. Peel 4 1/2 pounds cucumbers, cut them in half lengthwise, scrape out the seeds, and then cut into 1/2-inch chunks. 2. Layer them in 2 to 3 clean quart canning jars together with some sliced onion and fresh dill sprigs. 3. In a large nonreactive (no aluminum) saucepan, make the brine by bringing 2 cups white-wine vinegar, 2 cups water, 2 1/2 cups sugar, 1 tablespoon yellow mustard seed, 6 juniper berries, 1/2 teaspoon whole coriander, 1/2 teaspoon whole black peppercorns, 1/4 teaspoon whole caraway, 1/4 teaspoon whole dill seed, 1/2 teaspoon whole allspice, 1 crumbled bay leaf, 4 whole cloves, 1/8 teaspoon powdered ginger and 2 tablespoons salt to a boil. Cook for 3 minutes or until sugar and salt are dissolved. 4. Pour the hot brine over the cucumbers in the jars to within 1/4 inch of the rim of the glass. Close immediately. Store in a cool spot or refrigerator. If you do not want to process further, keep them refrigerated or use proper canning procedures for long term pantry storage.

@@1gr8lpta I too, would like to find a sugar free version that is safe to can. That's one of the reasons I can't eat them now. -also diabetic. (they are best canned because they sit for a while absorbing the flavors)
Micah's so cute! Yum de dum dum, you outnumbered! Lol!
Can’t wait to see how the chips turn out!
Love your family videos😊
Glad you are Feeling better . Hello from Pa. just got done my Son & I making pickles from our Cucumbers

I haven’t seen the goats in a while, WOW! They look FABULOUS
I'm glad to see everyone feeling much better. These are great ways to eat cucumbers. I've never juiced them but I'm going to try it. Please show us the dehydrated ones when they're ready. 🙂 Take care.
I'm glad to see everyone up and outside, feeling better. I love the taste testing. Too funny! I was hoping to see the relish recipe. I have never tried that before. The chips are a great idea, too. God Bless! Carmen
My mom always made a few pints of cucumber spice rings. They’re like candy and we’d only have them on special occasions. 😋

When you throw the chicken fresh produce it reminds me of the movie Cloudy with the chance of meatballs. 😊😊

I didn't even realize you had music going until 13:37 when it changed in perfect time to the streaker running by in the background.
Using cucumber juice.... You can puree some other fruits like strawberries or blue berries, and add honey and make POPSICLES!!!!
Yum ta dum dum lol Micah is adorable
Happy to see the family well again.
I never thought to dehydrate them. Thank you for the suggestion.
Mike you have such a beautiful wife and children, your such a lucky man.God Has Bless you in so many ways.God Bless y’all and take care.Oh and I loved watching the goats eat the cakes it was so cute.ty
Back when I was canning for my family I remember slicing my files and packing them, a clove of garlic, a handful of dill and.salt in my jars, sealing them and putting them on a shelf in the basement and they'd be.pickles in no time. I'm sure I've missed a step , but they were great dill pickles. Maybe we added a bit of black pepper! It's too long ago for me to remember? Those are find memories! :-)

I’m trying my hand at growing cucumbers at a community garden this year. I’m interested in the dehydrated chips, pickles, and I want to check if Maangchi has a video on Korean food with cucumbers. 😋
I was just thinking this morning about putting slices of cucumber in water like I had in a restaurant in Las Vegas.
Yum da dum dum!!! Love your precious fam
Add little bit mint to the juice maker then the taste n the smell will be still more edible....
You have a cute little helper
I would be inclined to set the fermenting lid to when it will be ready
I make my brine with vinegar. Here is my fav bread and butter pickle recipe. In a lg. pot bring 1 cup sugar, 2 cups vinegar, 3 Tbs kosher salt, 2 Tbs yellow mustard seeds, 1 tsp ea dry mustard powder, turmeric, and 1/2 tsp celery seeds. Stir and bring to boil until sugar is dissolved. Add 2 sliced medium onions and 2 1/2 lbs sliced cucumbers. Cook over high heat stirring for 1 minute. Put cucumbers and onions in 4 pint jars. Pour brine to cover veg's in ea jar. Put lids on and store in refrigerator after cooling.
Great Dad and Mom you are ! Fortunate , blessed children .❤
It was so nice to see and meet you at Doug & Stacy's homesteading conference the other year back---blessings to you and yours, Mike! Nice video...and thank you! :) Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :)
My favorite way to use Cucumbers in a drink is to add a fresh Lime quartered along with the Cucumber slices and let it sit for a bit in cold water. Yumm
I love pickles but never made any. I get intimidated when it comes to fermenting and canning pickles which I've never done either. At some point I'm going to have to get over my fear of both and just do it.

Love to see family, great to see y'all feeling better - out & about and harvesting! Been viewing & following for several years. Feels like family, I thoroughly enjoy the love & how respectful your kids are... You're both doing a fantastic job raising the kids & great at homesteading & growing your own. Shows excellent determination & diligence & hard work. Plus you put God first, always gonna be a "Win Win"!!! Be blessed!♥️😷♥️😷♥️😷♥️😷♥️
I picked up a lot of tips and ideas. Will definitley make juice. Mika face i could not stop laughing.. You have such good children. Cape Town South Africa
Haha sorry last comment but Im pretty sure you guys would like this idea. Cucumbers and miso are a really good combo too! ✌🏻😘
BEAUTIFUL FAMILY😍 LOVE YOUR CHANNEL LOTS OF HELPFUL INFORMATION MAY GOD GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS Y'ALL😍🙏
That's a whole lotta cukes. Your tomatoes look good too. Last year my animals were sick of all the extra veggies I were giving them LOL. Nice to see the entire family involved .
Happy to see everyone on their feet.
Lol that was funny to watch them tasting the juice. Might be better when it’s cold. Think I’m gonna try growing cucumbers next year and juice them. Glad to see y’all enjoying the process and that you’re feeling better. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🌱👩🏻🌾🌻🌼🐓
Another thing to do with cucumbers is to make Benedictine and dehydrate the pulp and grind into powder. Use as a hydrating drink or into smoothies.
Beautiful family.
Watching all the way from the Caribbean ( Trinidad ). I really admire your journey and your family mike. Not forgetting your humility. That is what draw me to your channel....
God is good all the time...glad all is well...great video...thank you
So glad y’all are up and going! Be blessed.
I cut them up into cunks put on a cookie sheet and freeze them. Them i put in a bag get 2 or 3 out and put them in water to drink.
Yes, a nice blessing to have is too much but then you want it not to go to waste. I've been hearing about cucumber juice lately. It does sound like a refreshing drink. Using the dragon egg cucumbers for the juice? That looks so good. The kids are so cute helping you make it. I think I'd try mint with it. I've got to try growing the china jade cucumber. Thanks for mentioning it. I grow the marketmore cucumber. It was cute watching you hold them for the goats to munch Mike. That ferment looks so pretty. Cool, making cucumer chips. Thanks for this.
Cool upbringing-👍🏻 Awesome dad-ing 👌🏻
Put some sallt in that cucumber juice; it's delicious that way.
First time viewer.Great video, really enjoyed watching you all working together.
what a cute family!
senior citizens is a good place to donate as lot of older people cannot get out and sure appreciate ANY THINGS FROM A REAL GARDEN. don,t forget market place on Facebook. God bless.
Beautiful family
Hello everyone I had no idea their was a Dragon cucumber never heard of it before just found out it was a lemon cucumber it looks something similar to the dragon cucumber I enjoyed watching today.
Happy to see You all doing better, I can not drink or eat cucumber is very painfull, digest is not easy. I will love it see Mika san Seilah enjoying.(sorry if I didn't spell the names right)
I have those round white cucumbers growing on my patio and they are grabbing on to everything in sight.
Nice to see a productive harvest. One thing I have learned over the years when making relish, use a meat grinder. Gives you smaller consistent sizes for onion, peppers and cucumbers, but makes it so much faster.
YOU NEED TO MAKE CUCUMBER GAZPACHO!!! And can the GAZPACHO for a quick cool lunch on hot summer days [I remember cucumber gazpacho being a favorite since I was a kid]!! For Cucumber Juice, when you add a little lemon and mint [Add a touch of sugar and salt] MUST BE COLD~! ...... I drink gallons of it! [I also replace the Lemon with ACV occasionally]
Oh my all that cuteness! Your kids are adorable and such good helpers!
👍My mom made the best sweet pickle relish with cucumber peppers cabbage and onion's!!! 😋 It was cooked in a big cettal for hours and canned. Me and my brother used to watch it boil and make valcannos! 😂 Boy was that good everyone loved it, made it every summer!
I have some Japanese cucumbers I planted a few years ago I have some of the seeds a friend gave to us from Japan when she went
Add some lime juice and sugar and a little water to your cucumber juice and the kids will probably love it!
This is just the video I was looking for. What a beautiful family you are. New subscriber...yay!
Those are all new ways to use the cucumbers. I've made old fashioned add him pickles & relish. But never fermented them. Nor have I dehydrated them. When I get my new homestead I'll have to try some of these ways. Thank you.
You could also make some tazhiki sause/dip, just thought of that. Nancy from Nebraska
Hmmm. . . cucumber chips. I'm looking forward to giving that a try.
I just canned 6 half pints of bread and butter pickles. So good.
Cucumber water is good. Add your juice to clean ice cold water with a spritz of lemon.
Yummy mom I love diced up vegetables for a salad
You can fry them like squash, there delicious!!❤
Love ur show. Learn so much n fills my heart watching ur fabolous kids...... LOL on son's reaction..... LOL yum da Dom da..... Can always give to food pantry..... HUGS
Ok gotta get the juicer out! ❤️ Kristy
Someone has been working out. 💪👍
I thought I was bad, with 3 refrigerators, & a freezer. I gave a bunch to the nursing home, neighbors, & made Garlic Jalapeño dill & Bread & Butter pickles. I have blue totes like that.
Japanese cucumber for me is the best, really really good for salad
Yumm Lacie that relish looked delicious I love fermented foods wish I could taste it🥰💐
I have to say your video is so clear..
WOW! That is crazy ! I need some ferment in my life. Glad you guys showed this.
I keep a pitcher of cucumber lemon water in the fridge at all times in summer.
Just got some redmans for the first time. Thanks for the discount.
Last year I just peeled them and pureed them and put in ice cube trays and froze them. Then put in freezer bags and I add a cube into my fruit smoothies. I really need to juice some as well.
Blessings Fit People, julie
I like to add garlic slices and dill to my fermented cucumbers. Sounds like you guys like garlic…since you put garlic on your cucumber chips. Kale and garlic is good in the dehydrator too. I grow lots of kale.
Ilove watching y'all s videos.
Hi ! You can put the soft ones in cold water in fridge over night to harden.
Bread and butter pickles .relish. Dill pickles . possibilities are endless .You can chop and store in freezer until you can chow chow with some peppers and tomatoes
Thanks, good Ideas for preserving cucumbers
Welcome back Mike how is Lacy doing with her carnivore diet?

Sweet Lil angels you got there🥰😇😇 I have a similar juicer and juiced our cukes this year too. I also sliced some and froze in ziplock bags for smoothies. Worked great. Thank you for sharing ♥️
