Here's the full lore behind the game, and it's actually confirmed(nobody asked for it, i know but who cares!): She's not conscious, she's still in her mother's womb, both of them are sharing the same dreams and that's why the mother could be seen in the manga saying "I've promised to give birth, and when I do...I'll finally hear your cries, your voice for the first time..and say good morning" Because the mother already met her baby (which is Madotsuki) but only in her dreams without even hearing her voice, and that's why Madotsuki can't get out of her room, She Only will get out when her mother gives birth, which means Madotsuki's apartment represensts her mother's belly. Also the video game (the red console) that could be played next to the tv, represents the baby eating his mom's left overs. That's why a red creature looking exactly like a new born could be seen eating certain stuff falling from above. And btw the mom wasn't assaulted at all she was just lustful, and all that was confirmed in the manga. Madotsuki didn't die at all, she's just unborn. And that's why tons of reproductive organs are seen throughout the game, It's the only piece of reality that Madotsuki could see. Also, Madotsuki's eyes in the game are shut, because her mother is still in early pregnancy, the unborn child had already experienced depression without even opening their Eyes throughout it's mother's dreams and memories. And btw, yall guessed it right..the Mom's name is Poniko, she's the girl with the blonde appearance. That we'll eventually meet half way through the story. That's basically the story, Madotsuki didn't die or anything like that, she's just waiting for her birth, and while doing so, she's reliving memories...

YNO is the only way I've been able to play 2kki, or any of the Fangames for that matter. I've been unable to get it to run off-browser for _years,_ so having some way to run it, with or without online features, was one hell of a welcome surprise when I originally discovered it. So yeah, thanks for giving this more attention.

Fr! I just discovered yume nikki and wanted to play 2kki but don't have a pc. I'm glad I clicked on this video haha

I audibly gasped when I saw myself at 5:36 and 13:26. Going to Wind Turbine Plateau with the person that uploaded those screenshots is genuinely one of my dearest 2kki moments to date, we had such a beautiful conversation together about the map's implications and how we feel about 2kki among other things. A lot of what you've said about this game was spot on. Quite honestly, playing 2kki on YNO has been one of the greatest experiences I've ever had in a video game ever, and the community is so chill and welcoming to boot. I have made so many memories already, and I cannot wait to make more. If you decide to try out YNO, please reach out to the player base (we won't bite)! Also, please try to participate in the tours if there's one scheduled, it's such a different experience than exploring the Dream World on your own. That was how I accidentally got to Lavender Waters for the first time (one of 2kki's most popular and deepest locations); I sorta just followed the crowd. Here's a YNO fun fact: YNO's Yume 2kki has its very own unofficial mascot in the form of an AI named Nova! She was created by a YNO member who goes by the name of xen. Thank you so much for making this video! I don't think it would be a stretch to say that the YNO community appreciates this effort dearly.

I love nova

I've been doing YNO stuff since last October or so, and it's such a wonderful experience. Like you said, the expeditions and badges give you plenty of things to occupy yourself with, there are tours and random multiplayer nonsense that happen on occasion (like that time we all equipped Trombone and formed a massive line across The Nexus), and the regulars are all super nice and welcoming. Awesome experience all around, and it's such a great way to experience Yume 2kki for the first time. Great video :)

you are not a real 2kki gamer if you dont have over 2000 hours of play time (me)

The best part of the YNO Project is that it makes 2kki and other Japanese fangames playable without going through the utter hassle of getting them to work properly in the first place Genuinely would have never been able to play games like 2kki or .flow if not for YNO

I'm glad I am not alone with the Highway nostalgia feeling. Great video! Really glad to see 2kki in a big boom of players and community growth. #puddinggang

I can play this on my phone yayy, I don't think I would've have been able to without u recommending the online version

YNOproject honestly feels like the easiest way to run 2kki to be honest. I never get 2kki working correctly on RPG_RT, and translation patches are obsolete like every month.

At some point in like early 2022 i was sitting in my bed and was like ... MAN ... Wish i could play Yume nikki online on like a browser ... I was currently obssessed with it at That time and wanted to play it during school LOL But i wasnt allowed to download anything to Run the actual rpg file . THEN BOOM . A video came up on my youtube that was like Yume nikki multiplayer!!! And that was my introduction to YNO .... Playing 2kki with other players has honestly been an incredibly fun time And im looking forward to YNO's promising future ^_^ Ive even showed my irl friend the site And we play together occasionally and its The best ever !!!! Also u r cool for being in the DMTG party :-) Long live YNO ...

Did you know theres an exclusive game being worked on for YNO called Collective Unconscious Its gonna a collab like Yume 2kki but hosted exclusively online

Since 2kki is still updated so frequently, is the online version updated as well? I started playing the game on my own, but I hate the thought of having to reset all of my progress if I wanted to download the next version on my own. Unless there’s a way to get the newest version without losing your save that I don’t know about

The online version is updated regularly, but previous version saves still work, and will update after being run in the new version. you won't have to worry about losing saves unless something awful happens. You can also export your save from the online version in case you want to keep a back-up too!

I remember playing 2kki for the first time on ynoproject. Pretty fun memories (my account name on there is pixel btw) Edit: appearantly it's been updated a lot since i took a break, might check out the new worlds later
