    In late 80's I went to a Boy scout Jamboree at Wright-Patterson Air Force base. The local RC club was flying demos but it was too windy for Helicopters. We kept asking to see a Heli until one Heli pilot gave it a try. I got to see about $2000 (in 80's dollars) of Nitro Heli get nuked into the ground. Back then it was lots of fabricated metal parts, I don't think that gyros existed yet. Being a RC Heli pilot was the ultimate flex because few people could afford to get good enough to fly them. Times sure have changed 😅

    Agree with you statements about the transmitter, but those gimbals are 1000 times better than any other RTF transmitter. So it’s worth spending some time. You made a point as most RTF users will get frustrated if they try to figure out this transmitter on their own.

  • @BrianPhillipsRC

    @BrianPhillipsRC

    If there was a reasonable explanation of the failure, they usually try their best to help people resolve their issues...HOWEVER, if it's a lack of piloting skill, mistake, or just an accident, they don't do much about it. That's one of the toughest parts about the hobby when you're new. I crashed my brand new Habu STS into my house, like an idiot, and had to glue her back together...it was laughable, but if it were my only plane, I would have cried like a baby. Ask, and be nice and reasonable, and see what you can get from them. I have, and had success with all but maybe 2 occasions...one of those I eventually got resolved too. Good luck, and even if they shut you down, don't give up. Flying RC planes is a hard sport - you'll get there!

    I wouldn't suggest this type of heli to a beginner, but to be frank, I'm a beginner myself. Heli's are hard, but when you get it, they are just like flying a plane, only much higher and more immediate consequences.

    @@BrianPhillipsRC thanks I figured as much, very tempting though. I’ll spend some time on the simulator and then start small. One KZreadr’s suggestion was to start bigger because they’re easier to handle and have better response than the smaller models, but I’m with you and plus it’s a big investment to start experimenting with. Thanks.
