I feel like the monster side of this deck is where it's lacking to be honest. Ocean dragon lord ofc is good, megafortress whale is eh in modern Yu-Gi-Oh standards. Extenders is kind of what this deck needs. They have the few powerful monsters but ocean dragon lord is the only real monster extender

I have been testing out some of the icejade monsters inside this deck. I have been running icejade Tinola, and Icejade Creation Kingfisher. Tinola essentially lets you monster reborn a water monster which could be your fortress whale, or whatever. Then Kingfisher lets you return a card to the opponents hand, and if you summon out Kairyu-shin, just lets you bounce their potentially last monster back to their hand, and if its not thats another 2500 atk monster on the board for you, and you can just re-equip it to a water monster. Also running lantern shark might not be a bad idea inside this deck. It adds another level 4 body on the field for XYZ plays and lets you summon your other monsters like doom and jellyfish

I'm love this deck! I've been waiting for this pack for ages and it's here, and it's glorious. I'm disappointed that Kragen has massive anti-synergy with Kairyu-Shin, so try not to have them both on the field at the same time. It did occur to me though that Kragen+ALO really screws with the most deck's extra deck plays since their now-WATER monsters lose a level from ALO. your price estimate for the deck is a little low, while most of the cards are dirt cheap, a set of Fish Sonar, Toads, and Warriors of Atlantis together cost around $150 right now.

Why don't you play fury of kairyu-shin and torrential tribute? There's also an interesting interaction with sea stealth attack and monster summoned off sea stealth attack 2. You can banish (SSA) the one brought out with sea stealth attack 2 during battle, to protect your spells and traps.. the monster comes back at the end phase and it isn't destroyed.

Wish Toad was cheaper Splight making it 25 plus a pop

Been really trying to make this deck work since I love the art, so it's nice to see someone do a profile, metaverse looks a bit overkill to me but other than that great list!

Metaverse is great cause you can chain it to dark reef so you don't have to summon maiden of the aqua.

Try for sea stealth attack and dark reef combo send umi activate it from grave funny enough sea stealth attack can activate sea stealth 2 from the grave too because sea stealth 2 is umi on field and in the grave so you can get your protection back also while maintaining umi, crazy

Ive been waiting to make a mako tsunami deck. Nice deck profile but ima just use the new mako retrains with his older stuff.

Electric jellyfish isnt an omni in the usual sense its a monster and spell negate but not a trap negate.

Any thoguhts on running handtraps?

I can recommend to play small world. It is just more consitency that the deck needs, so you always have access to Kairyushin or even te Umi searcher, if you got the kairyushin already in hand

What even are the bridges? To get from the level 4 Aqua monsters to Kairyu, the only bridge is Whale. You can get from one level 4 to another through the non level 4s (except Kairyu doesn't work with Jellyfish), but that seems far less useful when it's been used for just that. You could add better bridges, but then what are you adding?

Yeah the whale is a bridge, I mean the payoff of getting Kairyushin is worth it, banning the whale or if you play the vanilla monster for Fish sonar or the trap, you could also use that. And you could use any Fish engine with it. I had some Ideas using Kaijus as a bridge, because some of them like Gadarla have matching def with Doom Kraken, but then you have to use something like Gadarla -> reveal doom kraken from deck - > add Kairyushin. But if you want to like add your physalia this card is also really amazing. Like lets say you already have kairyushin and one aqua in your hand. You can banish the aqua - reveal kairyu from deck and banish - and then add physalia. So either way you can search like the best 2 cards in you Deck and arent as relient on hard drawing your cards or getting them with fish sonar.

is there a reason to use the salmon over giga gagagigo?

i threw in abyss shark and toad took out the kraken and some traps and add the icejade engine and the deck is dummy good now

@@poeskey I play 3 agerginne which usually searches the 1icejade erosion ( targeting omni negate) 3 icejade cradle and 3 tremora

What do you think about adding tribe infecting virus?

I heard somewhere on the internet that if you have ODL-Kairyushin and Skill Drain out that the former will still have his Gozen Match effect, is this true?

is this list stil viable today?

A question about kairyo shin: If your oponent already has 1 non water monster on the field, can they summon a new non-water monster to the field by using the monster on the board as "material" for the summon? As a example: they have kuriboh on the field and they want to link summon into linkuriboh? Since both are dark type is it possible? Does it only restrict them from summoning fire, light, wind etc. monsters but allows them summon a new dark type monster?

They cant. Same as TCBOO (there can be only 1). If they already have a non-water, they cant attempt to summon another non-water (regardless of attributes)

@@driptcg Technically there are some ways where they can do this, but I'm not sure how many meta relevant decks even have the option. Like if a HERO player could make Absolute Zero using a Water monster in hand and their non-Water HERO on the field, they can use both monsters to make a different applicable fusion monster even if it's not water.

@@xdragoonzero0 that wouldn't be doable. You're still attempting to summon a non-water while a non water is on your field. Yes, you can use poly, but if u use it and theres still a non-water on field when resolving its effect, you have to go for a Water only. Something that *can* be done is Virtuous Ecclesia tributing herself (as long as there's a Moye in deck) and then summoning any of the targets since she is no longer on field so there is no non-water

Because that would be like being under Gozen and using two light monsters to make i:P masquerena because you technically have a Light link 2 in extra deck. But thats not how those cards work

quick reminder electric jellyfish only negate monster or spell , it cant negate traps

Electric jellyfish effects says. When your opponent activates a monster effect or spell card or effect while umi is on the field. quick effect you can negate that effect then make this card game 600 attack in defense. My question is what does or affect means because technically when you activate a trap card that's considered as a effect right. so why wouldn't it be able to negate a trap effect IDK that's why I'm asking?

@@rodrickbennett8905 ​ There is Activation which happens when you play a spell and then there is effect which happens after activating the card. Now for example Continuous Spells after Activating stay on the field and you can use it's effects which doesn't count as Activation just an effect that's why it mentions Activating Spell or using an Effect.

If it said Trap card or effect then it can but here it just mentions spells activation and the effect of such cards (spells) only.

"Spell effect" also refers to a spell efect activating somewhere outside of the field, like VW Quinglong grave effect to search, or Adventurer Dracoback grave effect to reequip

Just use 3 dark ruler no more and you can just use legendary ocean with kairyu-shin and have the lock again
