Anyone else notice there was a full crowd at the start of the duel, but as it progressed there was less and less people until the end. There was almost nobody left. I guess they got tired of seeing zayn pull cyber end dragon out his ass every 10 seconds

No you see Pot of Greed lets me draw two cards and then divide your life points by the square root of penguins...Kero.

The ending of this duel was one of the greatest things I've seen in Yugioh. Jaden and Zane pushing their monsters to ludicrous numbers in the tens, twenties, and even THIRTY thousands was one of the most hype things I ever saw. And that's on top of the emotional fulfillment of this scene. Zane showing Jaden respect and passing the torch, both characters' pure joy of just dueling, and the laughter they both shared while lying on their backs after a duel well fought. Like I expect Jaden do do that, but seeing the always serious Zane do it as well was just the cherry on top. What a perfect way to end the season!

That's out of nowhere, and is almost as weird as in Part 1, where on his first turn, Zane uses Polymerization and his three Cyber Dragons, and Alexis goes "wOw hE's gOoD" like he just did something crazy skillful.

@@jamessinclair6113 I think its translation error. Recently I have been rewatching original yugioh, and the dub has so many weird lines that make no sense. I googled it and apparently they often made cuts to anime after actors dubbed it, during the last second edits, and someone that worked on the show claimed that some of those edits were made minutes before they had to submit the episode to the network.

This was honestly a great freakin’ season finale, to the point that I sincerely wouldn’t have minded if this was where GX ended.

If you mean his loss to Aster and how he starts going downhill for awhile until he becomes Dark Zane it wasn't that he thought his friends abandoned him it was more his ideals of being a good sport and showing respect to your opponent that were reversed

Zane's entire self-confidence was built on being #1, the guy who never loses. Once he graduated he found out how much harder the Pro League is and kept losing. Without that respect he felt like he had nothing, having become addicted to the feel of victory, becoming desperate to get it back.

And Zane seemed very much the loner type imo not having any friends or even acquaintances outside of the gang at duel academy. Thing I guess you could say is they didn't check on eachother after Zane left duel academy. Phone calls between eachother. But Zane doesn't seem like the type of person to do that. You could say Syrus could have called him as he was concerned about him but would Zane have appreciated it?

Every duel Zane is in is top tier

The numbers on that final turn were insane: 20900 ATK Shining Flare Wingman vs 36900 ATK Cyber End Dragon, then both players take a whopping 57800 Effect Damage due to Final Fusion, forcing a Draw. This duel was legendary.

It's incorrect though. Zanes should have less attack than jadens since his battle fusion happens first in the chain.

Imagine getting hit with that much damage in a shadow duel where you feel real damage..... thats like 60k damage and the main charachters get real hurt at like 500 damage

Both season 2 and 3 were legendary season 2 finale was Jayden beating sartorius and season s3 was Jayden beating yubel and freeing his friends from the Star prison aka I sent them to the stars and he saved the world then we got s4 the finale season where Jayden saved the world from darkness and married Alexis

And Remember, don't under estimate the power of food. It's was food that saved the duel.

18:39 a wholesome moment in Yu-Gi-Oh is always nice

Playing the instrumental version of the Yu-Gi-Oh theme song at the end of the duel really worked well in this scenario

Atticus constantly teasing Alexis about her relationship with Jaden was hilarious in the dub, even though it's actually not present in the sub. You know the dub were really having a blast acting this. "They say the quickest way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Jealous ?" "Oh please.." "Your boyfriend isn't doing so well". "Jaden is a friend, who happens to be a boy, and that doesn't make him a boyfriend!" "Oh sure..". LMAO gold especially the second dialogue. Alexis' quote in particular is hilarious.

For sure! The original series was my childhood. But I did catch a few episodes of gx. After gx thing kinda fell off for me though. I ended up losing all my cards and all my friends that I had played with stopped playing. So I didn't have much of a reason to continue. I might go back and watch gx though. Yu-Gi-Oh was legendary

Fun fact: This duel was planned to be the end of yugioh GX and the whole yugioh anime franchise that's why it is too damn good. Also due to Jaden's increasing popularity as well as the Hero archetype they decided to continue and give GX a second season. Yes, this could have been the last yugioh anime duel

Frankly, it was a problem the show had with a lot of its side characters but it hurts so much more with Zane because he was the only character in the same league as Jaden and had a unique role in the show.

In the next episodes Jaden was about to get crushed by Yubel but he convinced her by "talk no jutsu". After season 2, Zane has improved a lot. He is better than Jaden as we all see

That last part never gets old and always makes me laugh.

I remember when this originally aired, it was 2 of the most stressful days of my childhood.

Always a joy to see Zane and Jaden laugh together like good buddies.

future fusion is broken not because it summons a fusion monster but because it sends material to the GY but sadly it got a errata

Summoned cyber end like 6 times😂 Cyber dragon recycled 1000 times too😂

I always liked that Jaden ate in the middle of a duel. It’s a nice character moment

He has always been Obelisk Blue and he didn’t leave because he wanted to so it’s not the same scenario as Chazz leaving.

That's because the school covered up the disappearances and said they were "studying abroad" or some such, so he never really left their system or lost his ranking

This was the greatest to a duel and the season for me

Do the writers come up with this stuff by practising with actual duels or do they just really use their imaginations?

They change some of the cards abilities too. Really bubbleman doesn’t allow you to draw 2 cards unless he’s the only card in your field as well as your hand, but in the anime they say he only needs to be the only card in your field

@@sin6736 they change effects when they add the card to the actual game, most cards in the anime have op effects but in the real game they just have one part of said effect.

Zane playing Cyber Dragon Turbo was always so fun to watch as a kid

Love it how Alexis is smiling in admiration at Jaden in every scene.

So basically the biggest duel of the year ended in a tie

Probably the best match in the series

The cards to be printed are: Spy Hero (spell), Time Fusion (spell) and Soul Union (trap)

all the tv shows from back in the day are so much better than current its insane

One of my all time favorite duels

My man had a while lunch break in the middle of a duel......... gotta love Jaden lol

Usually I hate when writers cop out by refusing to have a clear winner between two characters presented as both being at the top of their game. But I'll make an exception here simply because this was a sweet duel. What a way to end the season.

@@alexchaser320 No dude, "I'm passing the torch to you" means when Zane leaves Jaden will be the #1 duelist in the academy. So he is passing his will on to Jaden to both represent and protect the school.

he really liked jaden out of all the students, since in there first duel he came close to beating him

"he's a friend that happen to be a boy" pokemon movie 2000 misty said "I'm a friend and I just happen to be a girl"

This Was The Best Season Of The Show

Instead of using Final Fusion, all Jaden had to do was activate a card that ended the battle phase. Zane would have taken 4000 points of damage from Power Bond and lost the duel 🤷🏾‍♂️

Amazing how patient Zane was while Jaden scarfed down his grub.

In a way, Jaden and Zane’s decks are very similar. Both are designed around fusion, but while Zane’s deck revolves around the Cyber End Dragon, Jaden’s revolves around the entire hero archetype

Good observation, both fusions but with different styles. Zane is all about overwhelming with pure power and perfect play while Jaden is all about combos and bringing out the full potential of his deck.

Zane actually genuinely smiled, guys!

An amazing way to end season one and the chances of both of then drawing battle fusion is so rare

This series was so good.

I like how everyone thinks Jaden was getting wrecked throughout the match, when it was actually back and forth.

Shining flare wingman is one of my favorite elemental hero In the original series.
