Crow's signer Dragon used to have an anime effect to absorb the exact amount of effect damage and reduce its ATK by the same amount. During the team new world duel it changed to its real life card effect to reduce ATK by 700 no matter the amount of effect damage.

Yeah, I think they originally wanted the effect to be that. However it was too tricky to describe the mechanics of how that would work so they changed the card effect. Then they changed the anime effect to match it.

That isn't an error or mistake, it was intentional

As a player of the card game, I know that some of the changes in card's effects from anime to game were likely intentional. Sometimes a card like Majestic Star Dragon is too powerful to have in the real game, so they weaken it to make it fair for the card game, and not too overpowered.

i know it's quite randomly asking but does anybody know of a good website to watch new series online?

In Episode 147, there was an animation error right before Yusei began his duel against Z-ONE, where Z-ONE is explaining to Yusei how he’s their god. At the very start of the scene which shows the close-up of Z-ONE’s left eye (as the series had been doing throughout the arc), his left eye is incorrectly shown on the right side of his CG model, just before the camera zooms out to show Yusei and Z-ONE flying around. Kinda wish I didn’t notice this bc now I can’t unsee it lol.

There are definitely some mistakes, though some of them are definitely understandable due to strict schedules, but we can't excuse all of them. Let's just not talk about Pyramid of Light XD

5Ds it's still 1 of my faivorite yugioh series, even if they did some mistakes here-there, i stil love it no matter what

For number 18, that was just a subbing error. Yusei’s read of the line reads the same as the other times he’s played Angel Baton. As for 19, this was immediately after the massive tsunami that occurred around that time, so it’s more forgivable seeing as the staff would be a bit rattled, to say the least. I remember because 5D’s took a week off just before it happened. Still, it’s always fun to go back and see 5D’s, errors and all.

I need to watch more of the sub. I think I've watched the Dark Signers and Crashtown arc the most out of the Yugioh 5ds subbed version.

"Dance Yuesi! Dance the Dance of Death!" Can;t believe I forgot that quote, arguably one of the better once from Dark Signer Kiryu (which says quite a bit)

Gosh I love 5d's so much. Dark Signer arc was the best one for me,that's what got me into 5d's in the first place. I always thought as a kid that its super dumb because they duel on the bikes but when I saw that Earthbound God Ccarayhua climbing on some building just the animation of the card got me really excited because that was the first time i ever saw that kind of animation and they have like 3D or 4D idk animation for them,it almost seems real,totally different from the other monsters.

This was a really cool video to watch! I didn't know there were so many dueling errors. Can't wait for the one!

I wouldnt call many of these "errors" or "mistakes". After all, its very normal for Yu-Gi-Oh series to have different effects or different stats for cards than the actual card game, either due to the writing or due to real the card just releasing a bit after the episode comes out, and they changed it inbetween.

another great example i see is back in GX during the Judai vs Yubel duel where Elemental HERO Prisma is shown as a level 5 monster when in the actual game it's a level 4 monster

another great example is on GX manga, where Manjoume's ace cards are Dark End Dragon & Light End Dragon (alongside LADD his main boss monster), those two where level 8 effect monsters and then in the game they turned them into Synchro Monsters

Another great example; Honest - used only on Level 7+ Warrior-type Monsters in Anime, but in OCG/TCG, he worked on LIGHT monsters only. It's just cuz Honest was used on E-HERO Neos and E-HERO Glow Neos, both being LIGHT.

JGLP true with the different effects and attacks and all but there were also some animation mistakes

Another mistake is that during episode 54 (A score to settle part 1) seconds before Kallin's first turn it shows him having Earth bound Inmortal Chacu Challua

Very good that you caught all those mistakes, i probably noticed around half or so by myself but your better a this then i am so, anyway back when the dub first came out i notice them but was so into the show i didn't bothered to ask.

Gonna be honest,was hoping for more dueling kinda mistakes (like how they messed up the effect activation in the fujiwara vs fubuki duel which lead to his defeat) interesting video tho

Episode 16: Aki used Black Rose Dragon's second effect to reduce Masked Knight Lvl. 7 attack points 2900 -> 0, but the effect reads that BRD can only use this effect on an opponent's defense position monster. Masked Knight Lvl. 7 was in attack position. This error always made me confused about BRD's effect because in episode 99 when Aki duels Andre, she summons BRD followed by Stardust Dragon. Aki then attacks with BRD, but I always wondered why she didn't use BRD's effect to bring Thunder Unicorn's attack to zero and win the duel without losing BRD in the process. I guess by this episode, they were honoring the true effect of BRD.

Dylan, I was thinking about this... not "new" but interesting concept: Monsters Visual Lores Y'know, like when YourYugiohChannel used to upload "The Yugioh Story of [BLANK]" Or Like TGS's "Yugioh Trivia: [BLANK]" series. I find out very interesting, and very HUGE the amount of content there is for a casual player to appreciate. From the original Marauding Captain & Gagagigo story to the Duel Terminal, the interactions in META Archetypes like Zoodiac, Crystron, Metalfoes & True Draco, or Zefra. Small stories like Sangan, Zera, and etc.

Another error, in episode 2 or 3, in the flashback duel of Yusei and Jack, the whole scene was black and white, Jack had only Mad Archfiend on his field, but on his duel disk, he had the Stardust Dragon card in full color

In the german dub of one of Yuseis early duels (I think it was against that insect dude that wanted Yuseis bike), Yusei screamed "I summon Sonic Chick in defense position!", but instead he played Speed Warrior in attack position. ^^ I'm curious if we will see a duel-error in the last two episodes of Vrains. ^^ I would love another video like that! Any series is fine. :) Nice video! Have a nice day. :)

Really cool idea for a video! Wasn't also another error in the duel against Team Taiyo. A friend told me Yusei could not have defeated Zushin (I think that was his name -the ultra powerful Egyptian God-esque monster-) bc something about its effect

if im remembering right, yusei revived stardust using its own effect after summoning it with starlight road while dueling rudger. needless to say, you cant revive stardust due to not being properly summoned in those circumstances

I researched the Carly Vs Jack duel, I saw junk syncron in one of their hands and on the others field, thought it was kinda funny

I think iron chain might have been changed because most of the early level 4 tuners had restrictions. Since it didn’t have any, at least as far as I know, they may have changed it so it wouldn’t be so good, considering 4 is arguably the best level for a tuner

Mark Granicke I believe level 1 to be the best level for a tuner. Level 4 is 2nd best, with level 3 as a close third. Just an opinion.

Most of these animation errors are usually corrected on the DVD.

Good video. And maybe the Earthbound Immortal's color is changed because of the effect.

I don't know if someone already mentioned this but I believe Majestic Star dragon got to stay on the field because Yusei activated "Stay Force" costing him 1000 LP to negate its effect for a turn.

This actually isn't an error, but Dylan, I truly cant wait for you to get to Episode 34 in your 5Ds reviews because-- this' my first time ever watching 5Ds and all I could say was Wow. Kiryu quickly became one of my least favorite characters to one of my most in only a span of one episode. Simply all the flashbacks of Team Satisfaction, and Kiryu yelling "Yusei....You Traitor!!!!" twice (once in the flashback once in the riding duel) kept me entirely on the edge of my seat and I can't wait to hear your opinion on it!! Too bad this'll be the last time Ill ever get to see Yusei lose in the anime, though.

Good video ..actually remember some of these

Carly and Jack's relationship. I get that there was a big issue with her seiyuu. But they could have just replaced her.(which I believe they did?) And since she wasn't a pro duelist, they could have a fair enough time to find a proper replacement and re-introduce her as Jack's girlfriend. They change Crow into a 6TH signer instead of a dark signer at the last minute after all... It just feels disrespectful to the characters that they make a big deal of their relationship... Have them CONFESS to each other, but then both forget it in the very next arc.

Yeah, it is a stupid retcon.

1st great video, 2nd it is possible for duelist to have multiple copies of a card. In Kiriyus case, a normal infirnity deck consists of 2 infernity necromancers, so yea it could be a mistake but you made it sound like it's impossible he has 2 copies

For the record almost all the Iron Chain monsters were in fact printed. In fact it was a favorite deck of mine. Also in the Crash Town episodes you didn't mention that Infernity Randomizer is NOT a Tuner so it couldn't have summoned Doom Dragon.

I'd like to advise you this topic for a video maybe: If there were to be a tournament between all of Yu-Gi-Oh! series protagonists (Yugi, Judai, Yusei, Yuma, Yuya and Yusaku/Playmaker), who would win? (Of course, Master Rule 4 will be used)

you forgot one with the kalin Kessler duel in crashtown, randomiser was used as a tuner and 2 beetle(s) as non-tuner(s) while beetle is a tuner and randomiser isn't. even if corrected he'd be using 2 tuners for a synchro that ony allows 1 tuner for its summon

In the Jack vs. Carly duel, you also see Junk Synchron in Jack's hand and on Carly's duel disk at one point, at least in the dub. They actually happen within a couple minutes of each other.

Good thing quite a few of these mistakes (not all of them) were fixed on the Japanese DVD release.

12:10 Actually that's false--Yusei used a continuous trap called Stay Force which negates the effect of a monster you control, during the end phase, that would remove itself from the field during the end phase, but he pays 1000 LP every time its his turn.

That isn't what he said. Majestic Star Dragon will remove itself during either End Phase and Stay Force was only used on Yusei's turn (if I recall correctly). It would've tried removing itself during his opponent's End Phase, too.

There is a neat mistake during Kalin and Yusie duel where Kalin has 2 monsters in his spell and trap zone instead of 2 trap cards and Hundred-eyes Dragon is colored as an effect monster instead of they synchro monster white.

for the last one, iron chain coil indeed is a lv 4 monster in the anime^^° you can see that in the wiki, one of the many cards that are changed from the anime to real life^^ if you wanna make a list for cards that are changed from the anime to real life... the list definitly will have over 1000 cards in it XD

I might have missed it in a early video but did you stop doing weekly review videos of the other series? Its ok if you did, still love your stuff.

what about kiryus dark signer mark? it was colored wrong, unless I missed it on this video.

What comes to my mind is how it seems that at the beginning of the series, a card's effects haven't been worked out or still being decided. For instance, the first few episodes of 5Ds, Junk Synchron's effect of summoning a level 2 or below monster from the grave when it is normal summoned to the field was not established until like the third duel with Ushio. The first two duels with him, he always used the Angel Lift trap to revive a level 2 or lower monster from the grave. Then again, maybe it's Yusei being strategic and not revealing all his monsters effects at once as Junk Synchron's effect is not automatic rather is the player's choice to activate it.

Maybe because the real life version hasn´t been printed at that point. And after that they try to keep them more consistent.

I want to watch this video but I'm highkey afraid of getting spoiled since I plan to watch 5ds in the near future. Commenting here to show my support though.

You should know Dylan but in yugioh vrains there has been a recent error in episode 51 of the GO and Soulburner duel Soulburner use jack jaguar effect to return falcon from his GY to the deck so he can special summon jack jaguar. In the next episode when Soulburner ritual summoning falcon back in in his GY and used it to bring out emerald eagle. He already return it to his deck but the writers forgot about it

An error i saw was in yugioh GX. when zane dueled Dark Jesse/Yubel. Zane's last move was using cybernetic zone, which should return cyber end dragon next turn, saving him from Power Bond's effect. But instead it comes back at the end of the same turn and Zane delcares that power bond kills him.

I’d definitely be down to see this done with GX.

the shot you picked to show yusei's disk for number 3 more resembles sonic chick to me than it does nitro synchron

in the dub of yusei's duel against ghost when yusei uses shock reborn and his life drops to 3150 it's shown as ATK and yusei is a level 1 monster apparently :skull:

I’m pretty sure that Yusei actives a spell or trap card that negates the effects of all monsters on the field. Hence the the blue looking rings around the monsters.

The Synchro: Sun Dragon Inti, in the anime Goodwin said that it deals damage equal to the monster attack, that destroys it by battle, but that damage is half and not equal to the monster that destroys the synchro, the 1st or 2nd time.

You forgot one:in the duel between crow and lazar,crow used reload but he said “I activate my trap,reload!”

15:04 the same happend to elemental Hero prisma, in the anime it's a level 5 in the game is a level 4

You got several mistakes on the list wrong, the one I can confirm right now is 148, the Angel Baton. The error is in the subs not in the dialogue itself, the voice actor textually said "Dekki kara caado nimai doro-shi, sono go tefuda ichimae bochi ni kuru" meaning "I draw two cards from my deck, then I send one from my hand to the graveyard".

In GX there's a guy named Kozacky, and he does this combo that - and I counted - takes 8 cards on his very first turn. During the Supreme King arc.

Not sure if you count this as an error or mistake or just the anime changing things, but during the duel between Kalin & Yusei vs Lawton, Kalin synchro summons Infernity Doom Dragon using Infernity Randomizer, 2 beetles and beast. However Infernity Randomizer is NOT actually a tuner, Infernity Beetle is, so he basically synchro summon using 2 tuners

That's not how it works as far as I can tell

I feel like the continuous trap card being flipped face-up even if it was already activated "error" (error 10 on this list) has actually been a thing in Arc-V and even VRains. Only, in VRains, the cards are mostly shown vertical, so they are flipped vertically from backside to frontside; not sure if that still counts or not. In either case, I'd have to rewatch some episodes, but I definitely think if the card isn't being used that consistently that the animators choose to flip the card face-up to show its activation effect.

Plz do this for zexal bcs there are some mistakes that could change how some duels ended.like in duel against don thousnd hope had 0 overley units he got 2 from abyss splash and he somehow then had 3. I am maybe mistaken but check that out

Did you ever see the 5Ds Ova? It's basically a remake of Yusei vs Jack but it could make for a cool review.

Yugioh Everything I've always had a theory that the OVA took place in the original timeline of Yugioh 5ds before ZONE interfered.

There’s tons of times where I notice cards being shown incorrect art while being shown on the duel disks

Theres an episode of Gx when jaden is dueling one of the shadow riders, he’s dueling the guy with gravekeepers, and if you look at his duel disk when Jaden beat him you can see the Dark magician of chaos on his duel disk.

I’m going to enjoy this series

Number 11: That was actually blackwing blizzard the far north in the bottom shot as opposed to Ghibli the searing wind. (Im pretty sure...)

Iron coil would have been one of the most used tuners during early 5DS era because it would have been a level 4 tuner without any downsides. So, its really easy to tell that they changed it to a level 3.

Isn’t the targeting and special summoning of Stardust Dragon a requirement for Majestic Star to return to the Extra deck? It doesn’t say you “can” target a Stardust in your graveyard, you have to and then you have to summon the Stardust.

Also a mistake in the Z-One duel, he took damage because of Lazions effect but he had black-winged dragon that had to negate the damage. But nothing happened. A real mistake and completly ignored

Mistakes are bound to happen but since the shows are great the mistakes in them really don't bother me

1 anime error you missed: Crows Blackwing Bora the Spear is a dark attribute but in his dabeut duel we see an earth attribute on it 😂

What is the difference beetwen mistake and error?

In the episode were Crow gets Black-Winged Dragoon in the dub they called blackwing armed wing blackwing armor master

No mention of Yusei having feign the steel chain on his duel disk while using speed warrior during a flashback to his days with Kailen?

In episode 4 of Yugioh 5ds Yusei attacks Mad Archfiend with Junk Warrior and deals 500 to Jack. Mad Archfiend changes to defence mode when it is attacked. But that did not happen in the episode. This means that Jack should have had 500 more Life Points and beaten Yusei in the next episode.

Am I the only person who noticed Junk syncron on Carlys duel disk!?

as you say you keep it chronological, and start with 18, so I guess you probably missted the mistake in EP1 regarding the Precise timing of the special summon and card effects. First off Yusei Normal Summons Junk Synchron. Then he plays Graceful revival (trap) to pull back Speed Warrior. (weird enough that he doesnt pull Speed warrior back via Junk Synchron's effect but not really a mistake, just a stategic fail) now he goes for the Synchro of Junk Warrior which obviously starts activating its effect. Yusei then activates the Speed Spell vision wind to revive Speed Warrior again. Then Junk warrior gains the 900 ATK from Speed Warrior. The problem here is that Vision Wind while being a Speed Spell, that is no Quick-Play Spell. to properly gain the ATK of speed Warrior, it needs to be on the field before Junk Warrior's effect resolves meaning you need to get the SS in the chain. funnily though if Yusei would have swapped the timings of Vision Wind and Graceful Revival (the latter being a trap, therefore Spell Speed 2 -> can chain to the Effect of Junk Warrior) or just by dropping vision Wind and just using the effect of Junk Warrior to SS Speed Warrior the first time, we would have the same end result, but followed the rules properly.

It wasn't an error. Anime Junk Warrior has continuous effect, whilst real life one activates upon his summon only.

These are all very minor and every Yugioh show has them! Doesn't harm the shows quality at all for me as well

Ushio did say Magic instead of Trap. This was fixed in the DVD release. Team GX_ST kind of changed the script with their subtitles.

You forget a detail on #2 that it was a tuner monster instead of a regular effect monster

At number 8 that exact shot of Callens hand in the English dub one of the cards in his hand was Earthbound Immortal chaku Cholula instead of infernity necromancer which of course was not his since it belonged to someone else I am sure that was a mistake made by the dub team since it was the exact shot used in this video tbh I inadvertently noticed that mistake when I recently went back and rewatched that duel

For the third error, isn’t it Sonic Chick on the duel disk instead of Nitro Warr- I mean, Nitro Synchron?
