One really interesting one you haven't got on here is fairly new and is 'Cross Dimensional Duel' which depicts the classic scene from GX episode 1 with Jaden and Flame Wingman vs Crowlers Gear Golem! Really awesome List!

in the rivals name, the person facing red-eyes more resembles atticus rhodes than joey wheeler, who also used red-eyes. This also fits better because they're using duel academy disks and wearing duel academy uniforms. ALso, it was a playable card in GX tag force 3

If you look carefully at the collar, you can see the two hook things that are on the Domino High School boy uniforms so I def think this is Joey (cuz why would Fubuki/Atticus wear a Domino High uniform?)

It literally has joeys hair, there’s 0 question it’s not based on joey. Also obelisk uniforms don’t have the collar.

Yu-Jo Friendship actually amuses me as a card. it's super punny if you're into language puns. firstly, we have the obvious with Yu-Jo being Yuugi and Joey, so basically, Yuugi and Joey's Friendship. secondly, yuujou is Japanese for 'friendship', so the card's name COULD be interpreted as "Friendship Friendship". lmao

Oddly enough, Cards of Consonance came out during the 5D's era. 2010 if I'm not mistaken. Kinda makes you wonder. Great countdown!

Could be that the artwork came to mind when coming up with Yuya's design for whatever reason.It's a stretch,but not impossible as many cards have humans on them that inspiration could be drawn from,and the revealed card is a dragon while Yuya's ace is also a dragon.Also didn't Kazuki Takahashi originally wanted to make 5D's the last series?

Orbital 7 and Lilybot/Obomi from Zexal had cards based on them, even named directly after them. I think there was one based on Kaito too but I can’t remember what it was called.

That‘s a cool list! One card that in my opinion definitely needs to be on this list is ’D/D/D Human Resources‘, it shows Reiji as a child with toy versions of his ace monsters which just looks amazing! And in addition to that, it‘s an officially released card!

ALso the effect of maiden with eyes of blue relates back to kisara, as when she feels threatened, it awakens the spirit of blue eyes, and maiden with eyes of blue when targeted by an effect or attack summons blue eyes.

"Half way to forever" It has Yuma holding his necklace.

Cards missed: Legendary Knight Hermos, because his face kind of looks like Kaiba’s. Foucault’s Cannon, because it resembles Astral’s ship and the description of the card says “A mechanized life form, roving through space-time. But the mysterious thing is that its memory i... m...stly gone. W...at is t...e reason? D..... refuse t... b.... interfered w...h?”

Keyblade 1030 umm Hermos is supposed to look like Joey. Critias looks like Kaiba, Timaeus looks like Yugi. And in the show, each of the knights has the voice to match who they look like, sooooo you're wrong. Go watch season 4, scrub

I like these kinds of top lists and it's cool to see content related to the card game. I'm sure people would love to see more content like this, e.g. your personal fave decks or card arts :D Also, is it only me, or is the volume really right-focused? Still a great video!

Great video! Jesse’s crystal bond card is one of my favorites so I’m glad to see it had a spot on this list :) One thought with regards to the top choice, when I saw the art I was initially reminded of the Yugi vs Joey duel from battle city, when Marik was in control. This might be the moment when Yugi summons red eyes to try to snap Joey out of it? As I said, excellent video and I look forward to more!

also there are OCG pendulum cards that support crystal beast. those ar clearly based on Jesse normal and jesse possesed by yubel. Crystal Protector and Crystal Vangurad. so i thinl they were worth mention them.

This was a pretty cool idea! There were a few I did not know about, or just forgot, including the Top 1. Maybe that's Jonouchi winning his Red-Eyes back from Yugi? In Jonouchi's eyes Yugi was his rival too, not only his friend.

It honestly feels like a mix of too many references to really clearly depict anything. It is joey, but the lighting makes the haircolor look like the color of the guy from GX that uses redeyes. The event shown is just the effect of the card according to people(I do not remember GX that well anymore myself because I only watched certain bits of it) while the situration of joey facing redeyes is a reference to it happening two times in the battle city arc(one time onscreen on the dock and one time offscreen when he is winning it back). He faces a ra yellow student because he faced the actual Ra before and....the dude he is dueling is bastion for idk what reason.

Oh my god the description on Creator of Hope at the end: You can shout "I'm feeling the flow"; choose 1 card from your deck and place it on top of your deck.

You missed a couple of cards in the list, like Amazoness Paladin (and Willpower) and Zombie Master. If you see well, they are personification respectively of Mai Valentine and Bonz. I think these cards are a pretty nice catch because they mirror the bond these duelists have with their decks Also, Xiangke and Xiangsheng are based on Yuya and Yuzu. Finally, some of the cards from Bujin archetype are based on characters from GX, with Yamato being Jaden Yuki, Hirume being Alexis Rhodes, Mikazuchi being Chazz Princeton, Arasuda being Bastion Misawa and Hiruko being Sartorius Kumar

Just a correction, Utopic Zexal is actually Yuma in his Zexal form from the manga, not Zexal 2 I think. And maybe it sort of breaks the rules since the character appeared in the manga when Yuma united with the shining numbers to become this monster. Good video otherwise, Limit Overdrive is my personal favorite in terms of visuals

Well look at it this way Arc-V Could be an Alternate version of the Future of 5Ds since look back at the Bruno Flashback when he was dueling Yusei in the Ark Cradle their Duel Disks look a lot like the Arc-v ones so a Theory What if the Future that Bruno is from was changed and instead of being Destroyed by the Meklord Emperors it was Destroyed by Zarc and Split into four Different forms of Reality based on certain Points in its original History and a Reason the other Protagonists don't exist in this world, Since Zarc was split into four different forms again I think the 4 other Protags Merged with the Different Parts of Zarc to Make the Yu Boys. again just a theory

Did anyone notice that in the the card "The Rival's Name", there is Bastion?

A great video overall. One of my favorite cards featuring an anime character is, in fact, Numeral Hunter which is a persona of Kite or Kaito in Yugioh Zexal, and since the card doesnt appear in the list, I might as well say it right here. You brought up some interesting points here: Card of Consonance features Yusei and Yuya even though the card was released in the 5ds era, so the creators might have thought of Yuya that early and Arc-V is supposed to be the next series after 5ds instead of Zexal? Thats thought-provoking. Personally, I think the hands in the card belong to Kaiba's Egyptian ancestor and Kisara (the red bracelet doesnt add up though). And the last card The Rival's name, its name uses the Japanese character for friend so it could be a reference to the duel between Joey and Yugi during the Battle City arc. Sorry for the long comment because I am an absolute sucker when it comes to Yugioh trivia. Feel free to point out if I got something wrong, and pardon my English because I am not a native speaker.

Dylan... oh dylan, dylan, dylan... If the Yugioh Anime world wasn't big enough, you have the manga. Not enough? There's the actual competitive game history and set releases, still not enough? There, you got the lores (Duel Terminals), and the last spicy bit are cards that appear in another cards artworks (check ygowikia card trivias: ig. Marauding captain story against TerrorKing Archfiend and Gagagigo TOLD by card artwork)

I think it's more likely that the second hand is Bruno's instead of Yuya's, even though Bruno was never shown to wear armbands. Also the ones that give you a season 0 vibe were drawn by Mr. Takahashi himself, and the season 0 anime put a greater priority on replicating his art style than the DM anime did, so that's most likely why you feel that way. Great video as always!

Actually I think "Creator of Hope" is Suppose to be Yuma in Zexal 1 form... so you need to use Yuma's Zexal 1, 2, and 3 forms to achieve an alternate win condition... in unofficial duels only. Also, I think Cards of Consistence came well before Arc-V aired.... like appearing in the 5D's anime for a duel. So I'm pretty sure the Red-band hand wasn't Yuya. Would Utopic Zexal count in your rules? Because in the Manga when it appeared, it WAS the person who played it (Yuma). Literally, like as though he was a duel spirit summoning themselves.............. though I guess If Kaibaman is making it in, then Utopic Zexal would as well. As for "The Rival's name"...... you sure it's not just depicting it's effect? Taking the form of a card in your opponent graveyard, if used against Joey, it could likely take the form of Red-eyes. And If you actually read all of that......... thank you, your list ,overall, was pretty good. :)

I love how for Creator of Hope, I technically have to say the words, "I'm feeling the flow" to activate the effect. I don't think I've ever seen a card that actually had something you had to say to activate it.

On the note it's pretty cool with number one, if you see who Joey is facing, it's Bastion Misawa he's facing, love that cross over X-D And I use Crystal bond in my CB deck :-)

Since, at the end of Duel Monsters, Yugi still had Red-Eyes, this is Joey's rival Yugi, and is in such similar to "The True Name".

Ok, I have to ask because it's kind of confusing me. So, the thing that shows up when you look at your channel, it first looks like you are showing the rivals, as I see Kaito, Revolver, Reiji and Kaiba, but then I see Judai, a main character, and Aki, a love interest. So is there a theme I am not getting, or is it just random?

2:18 also, Creator of Hope's effect requieres you to be in a situation similar to the duel between Yuma and Astral and shout Yuma's catchphrase to activate it

That's just awesome seeing yourself on a card

Two of the cards on this list is so odd yet interesting to me just because of their effects. Shouting "I'm feeling the flow!" just to get a card on the top of your deck, or forcing your opponent to give you a handshake is just kinda funny

I like to say about number 7 that the blue eyes support card is a tuner monster which yusei uses for synchro and the other hand is handing 2 cards which could be pendulum monsters becuase two are needed to set the scale so the meaning is both hands have the others style of dueling and they are exchanging their hands for better use?

King's Synchro also has Jack Atlas on it. Yuya is totally dressed like Mario in the card with the mallets on it. Maiden with Eyes of Blue is a card I like because the angle makes it seem like you're looking up towards her.

I love the cards with the anime based characters on them, but my favorite has got to be the one based off Future Trunks from DBZ called “Tyler the Future Warrior” I think? It’s cool since it was actually made by a kid from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and he apparently liked DBZ and YGO, so he made Future Trunks into an official YGO card, haha! I think it’s really sweet how the card came to be.

I always thought it was a generic yellow, but it looks alot like Bastion !

speaking of Kaibaman, know what we need we need a Blue Eyes Tuner called Kaiba Boy which looks like Mokuba, and its effect would allow you to add a blue eyes card to your hand from the deck or grave, basically allowing you to keep reusing or bringing to you the iconic card. I don't know I feel like Mokuba needs some love LOL

U should do a top 10 worst duelists. For this one u can only take into account how many duels they took part in and how many they won/lost. I know a few right off the bat that may get on the list lol

Of the cards on this list that I knew of going into this video, Cards of Consonance is the only card I didn't notice this.

There are also new cards for the Photon Archetype that have "Kite" on it. I mean, it might as well be Kite. The cards in particular are: Photon Hand (which itself is a reference to Kite's number snatching power of the same name) and Photon Change (which shows the "Kite" character changing into presumably Kite's white and red outfit from when Kite dueled in Zexal)

If I'm not mistaken, Lord of the Red is Joey when he put on the Red-Eyes armor in Duel Monsters. I think it was the duel with Valin (I hope that's how you spell his name).

Can you please make a top 10 or 20 cards to use in TCG? I would love to hear from another casual duelist your take on it!
