If Ormonde was a police officer 😉...no nonsense approach,he will not stand for any disrespect. Love how this officer deals with this on a daily basis with total professionalism and does exactly what is expected of him ❤

This Officer and his partner, the lady Officer are awesome. No fuss, just affirmative and professional. 😊

They really need to have better control of the crowds when the change of Guards is finished. Too many people at the same time. It stresses The Guards and The Guard Horses out.

Barriers on a public footpath in Whitehall under Westminster council not MOD isn't possible , potentially dangerous to horses and Troopers . Horse Guards is originally the official entrance to Buckingham Palace across the Parade ground and along the Mall it's a public right of way MOD police there for security and antiterrorism .

Every hour the guard and horse is changed over. The Ministry of Defence police keep people at a safe distance for their own wellbeing because many of them don't seem to comprehend the risk of being trampled or crushed against the wall when such large mammals are moving. This regiment's horses are a little smaller being bred for other purposes. However the regular Household Cavalry have huge warhorses that could easily crush a human by accident. There always seems to be a handful of people every hour who think they know better than the people who work here on a daily basis.

It's crazy anyway, you look around, look at the guards and horses and then get your tail away from there instead lingering for time on in. You seen it all so scram

That thin cop always looks so miserable. Understandable when he is dealing with dimwits all day, but maybe he should be reassigned to something more fun for a while. Guarding Victoria Secret models, for example.

@columbmurray - There is no regiment called the Royal Horse Guards , There is The Household Cavalry , two regiments Lifeguards and Blues and Royals who are the two most senior regiments of The British Army . The ones on duty here are The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery who are usually seen at State Ceremonial occasions pulling the gun carriages and firing gun salutes . Unlike Household Cavalry they are a purely Ceremonial unit but watch what they do , the Gunners , both ladies and men are extremely fit and consummate horsemen/women .

That poor lady has been given a smallest horse they could find.. how Insulting is that ?.. it’s a seaside entertaining pony

That " seaside entertaining pony " is a highly trained gun carriage horse , they work in teams of 6 horses with 3 riders pulling the limbers and caissons at State Occasions . The horses are smaller than HCav horses as they need to be more nimble and agile . Their height ranges from 15.3 to 16.3 much bigger than any pony which is 14.2 and under . Do some research on The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery please .

Horse Guards is a military base. Those are active, on duty, British Military men and women serving their country. They are guarding the entrances to a large, active military operation. It's not just horse stables.
