Today we're looking at 5 ways to light your KZread studio setup. The cool thing is that you can start with only ONE LIGHT to make it look professional. So, we're starting with only one light and will end up with five. I've also set up a b camera showing everything I'm doing, so that you can see the difference between each setup and easily replicate it at home.
Enjoy! ;)

The best lighting video I watched on KZread ! Honestly this is very well explained and looks pro and cinematic ! Thanks for this great tuto
Thanks so much for the video Paul! through it was really helpful to see how you worked, I've been working on my studio lighting and the idea of mounting the lights high and using more, especially lighter (coloured) ones made a huge difference. Cheers mate.

Thanks for your feedback, Ralph! :)
I've been struggling with the right lighting setup for hours and this instantly fixed it! I was putting my main light too far away, once I moved it closer and put the hair light in place it turned out perfect. Thank you.

My key light keep washing out my backlight. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? When I lower the key light, its too dark in the room. When I make it lighter, it washes out the background

Hi Paul You have got a beautiful setup. Its so interesting. Thanks for the video.
Dude, this is exactly the video I was after. Good on you and KZread for having it come up first for my search query. For my purposes I really like how compact, punchy and versatile those RGB type lights are. Don't really want the bulk of the key light you have; what are your thoughts on using a RGB light for the key? Can I diffuse the RGB easily or would I just dim it down. Thanks heaps! Great content. Subbed.

Also wondering if there are mount adaptors so I could use the RGB type lights on GoPro mounts. To avoid perhaps having so many stands.
@PaulHeimlund
3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks man! I don’t recommend using a pocket rgb light as a key light. It’s just not bright enough. Get yourself a small key light, like the Sokani (check my review) with a small softbox. GoPro use a different kind of mount, which is more like a clip on. So you can’t really use pocket rgb lights with a GoPro mount. However, light stands on Amazon are not too expensive ;)
So beautiful to watch !!!

I am just discovering this wonderful and magnificent tutorial for lighting that has been here for a year, but for some reason KZread just never presented it to me during search or something. I have been struggling with the correct lighting for my KZread background of years. This one video helped me more than any other video I have watched. I have spent over $1000 in lighting and never could get the setup I wanted to work. I am now using about $300 of lighting with almost this exact setup you use during this video.
