Hi, turning 70 this year. Just literally started a channel for fun. Keep my brain active it's good fun. Wasn't sure about channel, but recently got a Cavalier spaniel, moved ....so our channel is about our life home and our puppy Rosie as she grows. Hope it grows and thought there must be lots of lonely people...all ages. Thought would our channel brighten their day when watching. Have subscribed. Great video

I like KZread videos that aren't heavily edited. I like the videos of people being real. A video with no doorbells ringing, or you never hear sn ambulance. I subscribe to a creator who will tell her audience to hold on, I'm thirsty. She'll go to the refrigerator to get something to drink. She does not show the driver. She'll answer the door and sign for a package. Sneezing or coughing as long as you say excuse me I'm good. Everybody is different. All of the things I just mentioned I like when creators leave it in their videos. I sure do. I like your channel. You inspire me to start my very own.

I'm 55 and have been chronicling my life as a full-time nomad in a vintage caravan for the past 5 years and only recently got monetized but don't seem to be getting the crazy amount of growth I see other channels getting but I do love my KZread "tribe" ❤

I love the background, makes me feel like home. It's the other way for me - I'm an Estonian living in the US (Florida). Thank you for the motivation - I've been thinking for a long time to make my own version of 'Starting a channel in your 40s' video. I agree that the absolute best part of having a channel is the community and comments. You can have a terrible day and be burnt out and just getting 1 really positive comment can totally turn it around and make your whole day.

I was in a similar boat actually I had around 200 subs when I started to revive my channel. I've had it for ten years, posting super random stuff, but now I am niching like a queen..haha and it's working well. I've been following strategies that I have learned in some youtube courses I am taking as well and it seems to work. A few months ago I opened an ASMR channel purely as a hobby where I will be able to record sound from nature and others like that and I can say that I learned a lot while building my channel about sound recording equipment. So I think that for the self-development of an individual it is not bad to have a channel where you can learn something new. .It is interesting. 😊

I am estranged from my own parents and my grandparents are gone now, so finding someone on youtube that shares their wisdom from years ahead of me or as I like to say Levels ahead in the game of life. I’m 36 and found this so helpful. I accidentally fell into KZread 7 years ago (I didn’t take it seriously then) bc I talked about changing careers via coding boot camp and that video is still my WORST yet most popular video today date. 😅 the camera quality is horrid. And I didn’t even format the video correctly when exporting it but it got over 200,000 views. No one cared. You’re so right. Keep it simple and your tribe will come. Thanks so much.

That’s the reason we started our channel. We thought the over forty crowd was being underserved and we have something to share with them.

I really wish KZread would give our channel a little push just enough to know our content is even worth it. I will be the first to admit that our first videos are a hot mess but we have been constantly getting better and narrowing down our niche but it just seems we are not making it into the algorithm.

Omg your videos are hilarious. I agree I just watched the super power one and you had me laughing at 47 sec. I love that your channel is about marriage, life, adventures as a couple. So nice to see. The one thing I would say, which is being mentioned in all the classes I am taking, is just jump right in with you two at the beginning of the video and place the beautiful intro that you have created later in the intro. You could start right away with "today we are talking about 5 unique date idea" or whatever the topic is and then show the intro video. The reason I say this is because you two are so magnetic, authentic and full of love and energy that I think, seeing you first, telling what the video is about and then jumping to the intro, might help to get viewers engaged in your videos faster. You all make that channel with your energy. So show you first to attract the viewers into your channel at the getgo. Just a thought, you don't have to take my advice, but just want to share what I have been learning. xoxo

Great video and I’m glad I found you! I agree that the “over 40” or in my case “over 50” group is WAY underserved and underrepresented. I kept searching around on YT for people my age and all I could find were channels talking about physical things like makeup, fashion, and weight loss. I started my channel about 6 weeks ago. Looking to connect with other women that are passionate about nurturing themselves and improving their mental health in their “3rd third” of life. ❤

Yes, and I think your topic is beautiful, because we transform dramatically in each decade of life, so talking about things like improving life and more is always relevant. I am in Boston, it’s 7:25am and this came across my feed. Love it and Subscribed! I am 48 and In started my own channel 3 months ago. I have 132 subs. It’s a slow growth. I post one short every day and one long form video every week. It’s hard, but I do to with a smile. The community that I am building is an amazing. It’s full of women and men from all over the world that are inspired by my attitude, words, and goal setting. If I can inspire someone to look at their finances now, find a way to save and be able to retire early to travel the world then I made my dream come through. I want to help others. Hi ‘72 here as well! I truly wish KZread would recommend more gen x and older channels to me. I’ve been on a few years and don’t find many channels over 30 in my feed!

I'm 30, but I totally agree with everything you said. We need more people 40+ on youtube. I LOVE getting wisdom from those older than me. My whole life, I've related more to older people than to peers my age. So I would REALLY appreciate more creators 40+ 😊. I have considered for a few years to start a youtube channel and keep talking myself out of it, but...raw, uncut, less curated videos would be more my style. And I don't have time for much more as a sahm with little ones 😅. I loved your advice. All of it. Thanks 🥰

You are so correct about KZread being underrepresented for older people. I started my KZread channel 10 years ago and everything that was being pushed was geared towards younger audiences but now we are getting content that is relatable to an older audience. I didn’t seem to fit in with what those younger audiences wanted. Now at 54, I am finally finding my tribe here on KZread. After ten years of working on KZread, it seems like I am now hitting my stride by just creating content that suits older audiences.

I have been hesitating to start a KZread channel for 6 years. Yes 6 years because I am not computer or tech savvy. Thankyou for posting this because after watching the video and reading the comments, I am starting to feel its possible to try again in my 50's.

I so relate to you. Such great ideas you talk about no makeup no jewelry. You don’t need to buy fancy cars or bling. The average person just wants to live a good life and take care of their family themselves and help others. The background is stunning with the beautiful clouds and the field. Great video 😊 I couldn’t agree more! I started late March after procrastinating on it for over a year. It’s the best decision I have made in a long time ❤ you definitely find your cheerleaders. I have planned to do a similar video for my niche because I’m sure there are many out there like me that have thought about it but haven’t started!

My channel is mostly about my writing life but one goal I have is to grow a community of women who are moms and have careers and are trying to follow their dreams. Well, today was the day for me - and you were the person to deliver the message that I needed to hear. I have been wanting to start a KZread channel for many years, watched waaay too many videos, then put the idea on the back burner and the years passed. So so true about the underserved "niche" of midlifers who still have a song unsung in us! Which is why I also started a YT channel recently, a 42 year old single mum in London working full time. I started in Feb (video #1), then filmed tons of content but it was disheartening to be spending 10hrs on editing what will then be just a 10-15min video clip, so stopped. But watching videos like you helps to regain courage, so I restarted and posted another video just the other day. Yay! Thanks for the inspiration - liked and subscribed. We are all in this together. ❤

Looks like you’re catching traction, congrats! I’m not quite in the 40+ crowd, just turned 39, but I recently got active publishing videos on KZread. Once I found an engaging niche, I quickly realized that this could actually be something. It’s only been a couple months of continuous action. Before I started, I doubted the possibility of ever becoming monetized, now I’m confident that it’s only a matter of time! To you and everyone putting in work, keep doing your thing. It’s only a matter of time!

Yay! Thanks for this video! Very relatable! I started a KZread channel for fun during the pandemic and this past spring I rebooted it at age 46! I share my hobbies and interests, cooking, camping, vanlife, etc. It’s a fun and creative outlet and helps me feel more productive. It’s given me such a boost. I can’t remember where it came from but I heard something that really resonated with me, a mantra “create not consume.” It was a goal to move from someone who just consumes to someone who creates!

Wow such an important topic. Living in Finland I have seen such negative impact of addiction, mainly only alcohol here as drugs and other things are much more difficult to obtain. But everyone here that I have spoken with has either had a parent or an extended relative that has abused alcohol. I think the long winters and the culture of drinking here can lead to tough times for many. But anyway, I think this topic is incredibly important. I looked at your channel and it has lots of videos with thousands of views. That's incredible! I would say double down on the ones that are working. Also think of what words people would be using to get sober, would they say "how to get sober" or would they search for things like "quit drinking" or what? I did some quick research some big videos seem to be "Quit drinking motivation - Eye opening..." or "why I gave up alcohol" or "I quit drinking alcohol but didn't expect this!" "want to stop drinking, try this!" Anyway, I hope this helps and wish you man more subs soon! The biggest thing I think, is as long as you are providing value to the viewer - giving them the tips or help they need, they will keep coming back. Make it about them, but use your journey as a reference. Best of luck! xoxo
