I’ve learned so much because of the way you explain things. Keep up the excellent work.
It’s really appreciated for your info. It’s really helpful and informative. I have searched for so long to differentiate the symptoms of leave curl.
My kind of expert. I love the 'scientific' aspect. You have just solved my tomato plant problem e.g. strong winds at a time of the year which is unexpected in late spring. Thought my tomatoes had a fungus that would affect them all. Not so. I understand exactly and am eliminating the problem. All plants on the way to flowering so it was a puzzle. I am a much better tomato gardening than before. Straight forward speaking, no waffle, no wasted time tell us how brilliant you are. Success speaks volumes. Thanks.
Holy cow Luke that was the ultimate informative video on leaf curl. I don't think I've ever seen anybody cover it so well. Kudos.

Best info on tomato plants and leaf curl. In depth yet understandable.
You are such a good communicator. What you said about leaf curling makes sense, thank you for sharing it in a way I can understand.
Yes absolutely love your advice. Thank you so much for your time and help.
Best video I’ve seen on these three issues! Thank you.
Thank you for this very helpful information. As someone who is new to growing tomatoes, it is very appreciated.
I'm a novice gardener, but your explanations were so clear and direct. Thanks!
Very comprehensive Luke! Great info. Thank you!
Wow! That’s very well explained and answered my exact concern.
this is one of a dozen or more videos I've looked at about this subject and by far the most informative.
Watched this again this year. Always open to learn something new.
Amazing timing, I was literally just looking this up this morning and came across your video tonight. Thank you! Love your videos (and all the seeds I planted from MI)!
Great video Luke!! We can always count on you for such great information!! I get a lot of leaf curl from the extreme heat here in Florida. Our growing season has been over for a little over a month now and we won't be able to plant again till after the rainy season in September. I can't wait to grow tomatoes again! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for your time and channel, Michigan gardener as well.
Great info Luke. I have so much to learn and your videos are such a tremendous help. Thanks again 🤗🌻
Thank you SO much for this video. It has helped and appreciate your hard work.
Thank you Luke, I can most always find the answer to my questions in one of your videos. I'm not a hugely successful gardener, but I give it my best shot every year. I'm trying Cucamelons this year in a pot next to a trellis. I see some on the plant and am very excited.
That explains a lot, thank you! I have always tried to feed my tomatoes to combat the leaves curling up.
I'm currently having this exact problem with my beafsteak tomatoes, thank you for putting my mind at ease.
First year gardening, from MI also thanks for the information. Doing a lot from seeds inside ready to go out soon, some starter plants also. I’m also a bee keeper so that’ll be good for the garden and help them also. Again thanks for sharing!
thanks luke for another great video , im growing tomatoes in my second bedroom and i got them in 5 gallon buckets, i just ordered from you tigerella, green zebra, costuloto, and japanese black trifle tomato, they were shipped yesturday wootwoot can wait to get them and I have a friend who is going to Oaxaca Mexico (kind of far) and I told him to bring me a Zapotec Tomato or just the seeds. I live right at the border so im 6 blocks from Mexico. great episode like always, . I wish my kids get into gardening sometime in the future but they are in high school and middle school.
Super clear tutorial. You get right to the point. Thanks MIgardener!
This answered all my questions about leaf curl. Thank You!
Have watched this video last year, although I could not remember all the reasons, after viewing again I realized I had nothing to be concerned about. I am a very inexperienced gardener, but I want to learn and your videos do help me to get better. Thank you for the time you spend giving a us a chance to learn some of your experience.
I've been wondering what my leaf curl issues have been about. This video clarified things immensely. Thank you!
What a great video! So informative and as others have said straight up information with no fancy cuteness like some of the people do. Two thumbs up to you!
Ah man! Thank God that I found your video! I have some beautiful tomato plants that I started by seed that have been having this upward curling of there leaves that I have never really experienced before. It is so good to know what the problem is and what you can do about it. You are such a wonderful instructor!
Thanks! Good information. I have tomatoes curling up, but I live in Arizona so it can be any, or all, of the 3 things you mentioned. I won't be as worried now.
Great info! I had no idea about the curly top virus and had it last year on a couple of plants and again on o couple this year! Now I know I didn’t do anything wrong!-Kristy in Missouri!!!
Amazing video. Thank you. I live in a place that gets constant deluges well into August, when it suddenly gets hot and dry for a few months. I will be on the look out for downward leaf curl this year.
As a novice gardener and fellow Michigander, thanks for this video.i just discovered your channel, and look forward to learning from it.
Putting out solid content! thank you sir learning a lot💚
Thanks, Luke. Very interesting.
I am going to re-watch all your videos next winter and spring so I do a better job of taking care of my garden, thank you.
I am growing tomatoes in a tropical country. This video really helps me. Thanks, dude.
Still helpful even now Luke! Just this morning I was looking at my Brandywine and was concerned because a lot of leaves were curling up but the plant was looking so happy otherwise! It's been a bit windy here so I bet that was the cause. You took a huge stresser off my shoulders🥰
Perfect timing for this video! My tomato leaves are curling (only on one plant) and I've wondered what's going on.
Thank you. An excellent video. I learned a lot about how to diagnose plant diseases and how to correct the problems.
Thanks, totally addressed my concern. Excellent video, very informative and therefore very helpful.
Thanks for the info Luke!
This is probably the most informative tomato video I've ever watched! Thank you so much and when I go out to the garden tomorrow I will have a good look at exactly what the leaves look like.

Glad I saw this. We had multiple days in GA with super low humidity and I didn’t think about it’s impact on the plants. We also then had multiple days in the mid 80s before dropping back into the 50s. A true roller coaster.
Great video! This was so educational and informative. Thank you, Luke!!

I learned so much from one video. So informative I must say. Oh I always get so excited when summer is here! I wish I had planting area like you.
This video is amazing! You're so knowledgeable! Thank you!:)
I have downward curling leaves and will reduce the frequency of watering to see if that helps. I'm definitely saving this video! Great job!
Thank you! I actually have that happening right now. My tomato plants are getting tall and some of the tall plants are getting those curled leaves... Thank you! Your explanation makes perfect sense.
Thank you for explaining why leaves curls on tomatoes. Some of my tomato plants have this condition. So helpful to understand the different types of curls.
I am a new KZreadr and I started since Covid19. I started a backyard garden and I watch videos to aid my farming skills. I have tomatoes in my garden and I definitely see the curling happening. I think it's because of the dry season that cause them to be like that. I think your video was quite educational. I'm going to watch with my husband again later. I really appreciate your fluency and knowledge of the content
Great information Thank You for sharing I'm still learning myself 😊👍
Thank you for this video, I came across it while researching something else. So glad that I found this.❤️
You cleared up a few issues for me. Thanks.
And all this time I thought it was me talking to my plants and boring them with my stories. "Save that boring nonsense for your videos" they would tell me. I was sure that I had over talked them and they lost the will to grow. I've stopped flooding them...Hope to report good news soon! Thanks for your video!

Great video! Lots of great information. I’m new at gardening and just happened to come across your video. Thanks so much for putting this out there!
This was very helpful. All of the leaves on my plants are curling up. I thought it was some kind of illness that had spread to everything. It's a relief to know that it's just the heat/dry air that's causing it.
Very informative Thank You. I am just filling in with my neighbors garden while on vacation. I was so nervous when seeing tomato leaves curl. Not nervous now
Thanks for very detailed explanation on curly tomato leaves topic.
Thank you for this info. My tomatoes are looking good, but like to be prepared.
Such a great video, this was super informative and comprehensive. Thanks!!
Thank you for such an educational video! I've had upward leaf curl suddenly on two tomato plants started indoor under a grow light - I moved them from the light, thinking perhaps this was the problem, as it was only the two and it was so sudden. Your video has assured me this is more then likely the problem. Very informative and well done - subscribing to your channel

Hi and thanks for the video. I live in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) and am growing cherry tomatoes in containers on my balcony. Some of them are in 5L bottles, upside down, and some are in pots on the railing. We get great morning sun to about 11 am on the balcony, so about 5-6 hrs strong sun. It is rainy season here now, so sometimes the plants get just cloudy daylight instead of strong sunlight. Initially, my upside downs had a problem with blossom drop, but I started giving them a 10-30-20 weak fertilizer - they are not dropping blossoms anymore, but still waiting to see fruit setting. I had the first problem you mentioned with the leaves curling, but I think it is just as you said - plant protection from strong sunlight. All of them, upside downs and railing pots, have lots of growth. I just hope, besides the foilage, we also get fruit, so I want to continue w the 10-30-20, and give them seaweed fertilizer because a) it is more organic, and b) contains so many trace minerals. Anyway, wish me luck, and thanks again for you vids! 😉
Very informative and helpful! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the thorough information you provided. It is very helpful!

I'm a landscaper and recently I've become aware of a liquid phosphoric acid fungicide. I've been told that it's a great way to apply phosphorus to lawns and plants because it is well absorbed. I think it's been working very well and seems to be helping the lawn resist fungus. Have you ever used such a product on your vegetables ?
Thanks for the video. This is something I had been wondering about.
Keep sharing, blessings to the journey and good health for all
VERY impressed with this talk as he recommended Azomite, which I added to my potting soil for the first time this year. BOOM, all blossom end rot over, fantastic tomato growth and flavor. It's unique ground volcanic rock from Utah loaded with tons of micro and trace nutrients.

Great video! This is my first year planting tomatoes and your videos are helping me a lot! I have a question... my tomatoes fruits though start very high up on the plant, like above the 3ft, i see yours start very close to the ground. What have I done wrong? Any ideas?
Many thanks from Nova Scotia,Canada! Was getting worried as the older leaves did this but we just had 4 days of 40°. Not worried anymore!
Thank you so much for a wealth of information on our tomatoes.
One of my grandmother’s was raised on a farm in Newfoundland. She swore by manure. Fresh is the best, but commercial cow manure is a best second. I place 3-4 hand fulls of manure at the bottom of the hole, and cover with 3“ of soil , and then place the plant on top. The plant will draw from that reservoir of manure all season long without re-fertilizing. Rotating plants each year is a good idea.

I love your channel! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and love of gardening. I have a simple question about when It is a good time to begin a fall garden with direct sowing in a raised bed? I've never done a fall garden and live in Armada because we have clay soil in my backyard, Unfortunately could not get my garden beds built in time for planting. I don't have to explain the problem spring we've had to deal with, Since we live close to your area here in MI. I have many health issues that have kept me unable to garden for the last 30 yrs. Now with raised beds becoming more recently brought to my attention, I appreciate the chance to see if I'm able to grow my favorite vegetables and fruits again in Hope's it will be possible for me to physically do. I would appreciate your advice on when to start my zucchini, cucumbers and beans. I've calculated that now is time to sow them. Thank you for for any assistance you have in advice for me. I can't seem to find any info researching.

@@strakill after taking another look at the video, I see the problem, his raised beds are to shallow, his plants will get root bound real quick, forgive the miss spelling, I had the same problem, I learned the hard way, it takes a huge pot or raised bed for a tomato plant, at the very minimum 24 inch by 24 inch by 16 inch deep, and that is on the verge of being to small, when I lived out in the country I had no problems, when I moved to the city in 2007 the dirt around this house was worst you can imagine, I tried every thing, raised beds, and just like the ones in the video to shallow, a 5 gallon bucket is way to small, I use to think keep the water and plant food to it, it will grow, well not so, if it can not grow underneath it want grow on top the dirt, when your plant is done at the end of the year take a look at the root ball on it, if the pot or the bed, what ever you are growing it in is compacted full of roots, the plant can not grow like that, O it will live all summer and look like it is dying all summer, I went to my county agi ext agent, and told him of my problems, he said a healthy plant can fight off most plant disease, any way I have taken up enough of your time, I hope you can get your garden going, the soil, the volume of your soil, and plant food, and water, is key, do this, try one pot to small and another what you think to be to large, and next year all your pots will be of the what you think to large, personally next year I will have more of the seems to large type, good luck
I find your videos Informative You see I started gardening last year, you’re one of my go to’s
Thank you! Have been concerned for one of my tomato plants due to the upward curl. I am container gardening and sadly a neighborhood stray has knocked it over a few times...some cayenne pepper spread about has stopped that though. 😊

I have a huge bug outbreak. Waiting for my parting mantis to hatch. I have 4 egg sacks and hopefully they take care of the bugs.
Exactly what I needed to know with perfect reasoning. Thanks.

Interesting and informative, thank you!
Over here in wisconsin, my heirlooms are quite low to the ground and the hybrids that I planted seem to be doing much better. I had a rough start either way, black birds too my newly planted heirlooms and ripped the tops right off. Then the plant sent out side shoots and every one of them trying to turn into a tomato bush. Lots of wasted plant energy, made a late start even later.
