Astronauts go up in a rocket and come back to Earth by parachute. Rob shows how to make a working model of both with little more than writing paper and a garbage bag.

I actually used 2 sheets of thick 50-cm paper, rolled up with a permanent-marker for the exact diameter, and it flies about 25 meters! i also made blunt needle-tipped darts(only for aim practise!) that can pierce a 3cm steak from 20 meters away! its actually a DIY blowdart-gun. thanks for the inspiration. ❤👍

My science teacher did something similar to show how products evolve. We each made a smaller version of this rocket, each with a different cone size and blew into the back using a balloon. We took the one that went the farthest and iterated on that. It was a really fun activity, and sure was better than just reading about it!

Tried this, breathed in by mistake and sucked the rocket back into my lung. Luckily I was able to pull it back out by the parachute.

Great video but OMG the shockwaves of frustration and tears though households back in the day as 7 year olds dealt with a misfiring soggy tubes and completly dysfunctional knotted up parachutes 🤣

I'm disappointed there isn't a ridiculous Australian word for "garbage bag."

Prove that we didn't land on the moon then Einstein. Nasa just used 21 billion dollars for nothing?
