I was thinking too ... ▪property taxes?? ▪dusting the place?? ▪keeping that pool clean?? ▪air conditioning ... think of the monthly electricity bill!!! ▪updating worn curtains and draperies, furniture, etc ... decor looks beautiful now but must be renewed on rotating basis just to keep up with it ▪would have to work full time at maintaining this place and have no life (or THIS is the extent of your life, a gorgeous prison), OR ▪have as many people working here a resort would employ just to handle it all, THEN have employee situations and drama, and remember this is your personal home, not a resort, so strangers are around your personal life, family, and things ALL THE TIME ▪and this place is making no money back for you like a resort would; it is just a huge spectacular money pit ▪what happens when things start showing wear, the pavings outside break down, landscaping gets overgrown?? Who is going to keep up with repairs and maintaining? Would have to have a service employed full time ▪bet it's time for a roof replacement by now ... can you imagine??? I can see why no one lives here. Too much to handle and it consumes life. Too much. I am glad I am free and not tied down. Anyone would have plenty of space to store their stuff however! Haha, a gorgeous storage unit.

$24M is actually not a bad price for what you get. You'll find homes in Northern Virginia for the same price and don't offer half of what this place does. Granted it's Texas. But let's forget the price of the home, and let's look into property tax, upkeep/maintenance, etc. The mortgage on this place isn't the issue, it's everything else that it comes with lol. Beautiful estate nonetheless.

It is massively ridiculous to have a house this big. I can guarantee you most of those rooms will not be used. They will be closed off collecting dust. The water bill utility bills are easily going to cost a few hundred thousand if not a few million a year. Now that's just plain stupid ridiculous and a waste of money.

You also have to realize that there are states with higher property taxes. And the rate is 1.8% in most counties, we dont have income tax and we have the strongest economy out of any state. We carry the country in oil & natural gas which is a trillion dollar enterprise. Between the farms and livestock , we also have the largest semiconductor in the western hemisphere in Austin, companies are moving here because with no income tax employees get paid more. There's only federal income tax. The tech giants are moving to Austin. Google ,Apple ,Dell, Microsoft, Intel, AMD, Samsung, IBM, HP, are already in Austin. It's the fastest growing state for a reason.

Opinions are no less valid or more valid based on preference but are probably truer when one can actually afford a product, service or experience rather than one is simply chewing the fat an something he or she is not able to do anyway. There is a certain luxury in having real options in life, but there is no accounting for tastes and sensibilities

Raven Ghostly someone who has the money to afford this house will not see it as a waste of money. You’re looking at someone with a net worth of $50 mil +. This house is listed at $35mil, so no... I don’t think it’s a waste of money. Obviously I can’t afford it, but put yourself in rich shoes and dream a little. Not everyone wants a small dinky house

That's why people talk negatively about it, because they know they can't afford it! That's the point. It's unrealistic. Even the guy who built it couldn't afford it. He's in prison now. This kind of money and time it takes to manage it is just unreal. A person doesn't have the resources to handle it. Even if they have the money, they don't have the time. I'm wondering if Bill Gates could handle it and what kind of place he lives in🤔
