This week 4 friends and me chose to troll in an unranked match. So we started as defenders and we opened all the bomb site walls and then went around roaming and trolling, we won all rounds as defenders because the adversary team was so confused they didn't know what to do. Then when we were the attackers the adversary team tried to copy us opening all bomb walls and we won again as attackers, that match was a 4-0 win for us and the most hilarious match we've played

Operator picks don't matter in the sense that there can be a very broad array of strategies that can work to win you the round, especially if you catch the other side by surprise with it. However, they do matter in the sense that you need to go into it with SOME strategy in mind. The guy picking Warden just to roam on the complete other side of the map is still wasting his pick.

Someone picks ash rushes gets 2 kills and dies in the first 30 seconds then his team loses who’s fault is that his team who tried to do some stray or the kid who got two kills and made it a 4v3

@@Beastmode-lh7yj The kid who got 2 kills. If he's that good of a gunner, imagine how much better he'd be if he got intel from his teammates. At the very least, if he has a teammate backing him up, then someone trades his death and now it's a 4v2.

Pox made some good points but this is gonna go way over kids' heads. All they're gonna hear is this gives them permission to main Warden and troll.

I think operator choices do matter, but not because of their gadgets, intead because of their guns. In this gunfight heavy meta, your gun matters a lot. There are a lot of guns, but the best ones are the ones that make you feel comfortable while using them, those will give you more confidence in your play and you already know how to control them, which is what makes you hit your shots, which is what matters the most in this meta. I kinda like this meta because you can play anyone, but it's also sad that you can't really play strategically in a competitive way. Competitiveness right now is just "who has better aim and gun control". However, this next year we already will have brava, who is definitely a strategic operator more than anything, she's one that can spend 80% or more of the round just on her drone and still be useful. I think this will not shift the meta entirely but it will surely change it in the games in which she'll be present. Also with the adition of the observation blocking gadget we will also have more strategy imported into the game instead of gunfights. I think and hope that this year's operators will all mostly focus on informational wars and strategic battles. This will also increase the skill curve in siege imo. Although this meta is not bad, I definitely hope to see a meta where you have to play slower and smarter, a meta where playing outside of the box is encouraged and greatly rewarded, not just blunt killing.

Gun don’t matter much if you aim.

For the most part you're absolutely right, but I will say it's still frustrating to see people slowly die meandering through the map when no one went hard breach and we could have easily breached the wall that goes right from outside to the objective, like Consoluate basement or something. Like you literally chose facing a defender gauntlet to try to run, over attacking from the area right next door with complete safety at your backs =P

@@wzore6480 lower rank players always find a way to complain about bad teammates even though they are the same rank as those people. learn to take accountability for everytime you lose even if it wasn’t entirely your fault and think what you could do better for next time and you will improve 1000 times faster than you ever will by blaming your teammates

I think it matters more the less skilled you are, that way you can contribute more to your team in other ways rather than just kills

I 100% agree with you. People talk about the "meta" as if it gives them an advantage when in fact the "meta" is a huge disadvantage because I know exactly where most people are going to be without even droning it out. I'm not going to give away all of my trade secrets but one of my favorite "meta" plays to attack against is the smoke shield setup in Armory on Border. If there is a shield there I hang tight for a minute until my team starts applying pressure on wall and usually get one if not two free kills from below with a grenade. Then there is my completely "unorthodox" Mira setup on Cash at Club House where I've had teammates shoot them out because "it's not the meta" when it is in fact one of the strongest setups you can do on there. Meanwhile I'm regularly good for a 4k on the setup because I can challenge construction, CCTV walls and windows, red stairs, garage, lounge, and stock rooms all by myself. Place both Miras a crouch height, one on the CCTV soft wall from Cash on the far left and the other on Construction wall from Cash. On the right side of the CCTV wall from cash, take your shotgun and shoot out a hole looking down, then do another hole by construction door. Reinforce the wall on the right to CCTV and shoot out a small hole for c4 over both Miras. Also, having a nice murder hole on red stairs in addition to rotate is generally, but not always the play. Sit on the Mira on CCTV and check your floor holes from time to time looking for the free kill. Yet every time I do this with randoms I'm accused of throwing, TK'ed, have my Mira's shot out all because I didn't something different and unexpected. I also use that floor peak into service a lot when playing Coastline or Stadium Bravo. It's practically a free lunch every time.

tldr: Siege is a sandbox game and the mindset of set tactical plans are limiting players creative geniuses

This might be how it is for America, but in Australia quick match and ranked, I get applauded for running my elite Tachanka or Blitz :)

I’ve heard so many times plat and diamond players rage bc of how different bronze, silver or gold players play. They just play so different from what the top rank players r used to that it comes to an advantage

The game isnt even siege anymore, it's basically call of duty where it all revolves around gunfights. Definitely not the same game I truly enjoyed years ago.

I think there's a huge difference in, "Telling someone what operator to play" and "suggesting a hard breacher" when Im picked as Thatcher to breach an obvious breach. Specific operator might not be as important, but having the right style of operators on a team should be the #1 goal for every stack.

I personally stick to mainly hard breacher in soloq but instead of pushing standard main breach I will breach the "back" of the site: So on border it would be office wall Villa it would be the 90 wall that leads into vault Wine on Chalet etc Most Kaid/Bandit players usually dont deny these walls so its pretty much free to breach so you never really have to worry much if your team8 bring EMPs or not

Damn I love the points you make here. So nice to see someone who is good at the game and encourages creative use of the freedom this game gives, now more than it ever has before.

you are totally right, imo, it's time now to try being creative with your setups and picks. moreover it might be an opportunity to develop a new tactical meta, since now it's mostly fragging. hence, consider, that there still roles that should be filled almost in every game, like wall-denial or anti-grenades. might be interesting to see a wall-denial as a secondary defense gadget like we have emp on attacker side

This is fair. Definitely think most rounds one HB are needed just to have the versatility but also that can include just one OP with a charge which is great. The game being super balanced allows for such varied attack groups.

It doesn’t matter but having certain operators does help a lot and can determine the round

People also need to stop picking ops based on pro picks. Operator viability changes dramatically depending on the skill bracket you’re playing in. I think most people would agree that Valkyrie is top tier at gathering intel and Caveira can be easily countered simply by droning. But if you’re just a casual player and/or playing with randoms with no communication, Valkyrie cams become far less useful. And when playing against players less likely to utilize drones and losing them in the prep phase, Cav becomes way easier to use. People like to say that there’s more to siege than just getting kills, and obviously I understand that is true. But I can tell you as someone who’s played off and on since the beta, and has spent most my time in casual, getting kills in casual can sometimes be the best thing you can do to help your team.

I think you make good points but I think there's things you're missing. Oryx is is the "strongest" because he's always picked by brainless fraggers and he's able to do his job because the supports do theirs. I'm sorry but the "gunfighter" meta is a joke and I see more rounds won because of utility than kids playing the game like it's COD TDM. Kills don't matter compared to game sense. Kids thinking they should play the game like it's COD has lead to the most stale gameplay over the past couple years. Siege is at its worst when utility isn't valued by it's community. Without utility this is just COD.

The BEST way to do things is, whatever you find fun.

The issue is when I have a nokk running hard breach charges when she had grenades and we already have a hard breacher

I've actually challenged myself to try to only use the og ops or only "bad" ops, it been a lot of fun.

I don't like using shotguns. I am bad at it. One time I played Castle, and someone asked me to open a rotation. I told him 3 times, that I have nothing to open with. Then I got threatened to get TK-d if I don't bring the desired kit next time. (The community's toxic part will be the death of this game)

Now that there's 33 operators on each side it's almost impossible to see who you need to play. Attacking has the advantage at that point due to being able to scam who's on the opposing side but even then it's your play style that matters more than anything not who you choose

while i agree to an extent u definatly dont have to play the meta. but ops do matter while its best to pick something ur comfy with and working together is gonna be way more important having 3 shield ops no hard breach and a ying to blind said shields arent really gonna work that well. and while u dont need something like nades it makes it way easier to attack id say anything that gives u a higher chance of winning u should take even if its not the most important part

I took your advice to heart and stopped playing the Carrie operators such as mute, ying, lesion or Thatcher and started playing operators I wanted to play just like my teammates do my KD has risen to 1.7 and I've lost the past eight games in a row😐

Pox is right although. Having my friends run Vigil,Lesion,Warden, and ELA religiously. I would say picks do matter to an extent. Same could be said on Attack. They only play. Montagne, Ash, Fuze sheild and BB. All useless aside from Ash. Montagne is fantastic in the right hands.

Yea the game is just highly gun play based. Even BB is viable with a good gun, a bit of a protection, flashes or HB charges. Or even the emps.

No, this game put you in a game with player of similar skills, your aim lab training isn't gonna put u that much on top of your opponents. Your operator deffo does matter. Wasting time or making sure they can't breach certain is gonna give u a huge advantage. But obviously I ain't gonna yell at my teammate for not bringing certain operator

When you can't aim well, the choice of operator is the MOST important thing

operator picks matter in pro play which is obv heavy teambased play with 10 god like players thatll shred 99% of the playerbase so yeah operator picks/team comp does matter...but not for us..which is everbody playing the game outside an esports/competetive scene - got it. i wouldnt listen a tad bit if someone said: go of *operator name* and pick *x operator* i always listen if someone says, could you hold this/ hold my back please or check this cam - thats just simple teamplay with people i never met before and there should never be a reason to act all pro just because u watched the latest *insert yt content creator* video in which there are 1000tips and tricks you can tell your random mates in a unranked/ranked - its good for you and i also do this because i like knowledge and i like this game so i sometimes use this certain (niche) tips and tricks to a more or lesser extend (like a kaid claw setup on clubhouse garage on numbers 1+2) but ill never expect anyone to do that in a unranked, heck even a ranked match at lower elos because its all just run and gun for most people anyway so that there is no point of doing so

New shield rework is coming this year! I think it'll take a lot of the annoying aspects of shields away and make them better overall

Have been playing the game with no meta - random pick. Something will works out for ever operator, if it doesn't, it either just not creative enough or BLACKBEARD. Lmao I am sorry but blackbeard hahaha

Title is (good) click bait, but you aren't wrong. A good player can win a 1v5 with just a recruit. 1 headshot is all it takes.

Solid tips however do not download war thunder because that game is the equivalent to a casino in las vegas, engineered to suck your bank account dry.

I get your point but the logic behind it is flawed. What you are saying is we didn’t bring what’s fundamental so let’s turn this into a game of TDM which can win rounds but this is not CoD. Siege is meant to be tactical and to have teammates partner up.

Yes, but you may have missed the point that partnering up outside of only operator selection (in gunfights and taking map control for example) is not just powerful but arguably more important than the operator selection itself.

I agreee but there’s a huge skill gap in r6. I play with my IRL’s and having a jager and thunderbird will help win games. When I’m with my STACK we run whatever we want Cz we all are gunnies
